I purchased a warranty that they would not honor. I have requested for them to either honor the warranty or return my money for said warranty! They keep giving me the run around about getting my money back. The warranty was purchased at the dealership, but yet they keep saying they dont have any cancellation from the dealer, so they have to wait for that to do a refund!

After 6 months I traded in my suburban to another dealership and proved to Culver City Chevrolet with transfer documents of this and asked for my refund of cancelation of extended warranty which is required by ********** law they were playing games with me for weeks having me sign cancellation papers ect and manager called me and said we have no record of you paying for warranty even though I presented the processed check and and paid warranty certificate. I understand your frustration about the extended warranty.  Unfortunately, we do not have any records of you purchasing the extended warranty.  If you can supply us with proof of purchase in your purchase contract we would be more than happy to assist you, but since we have no record of the purchase there is nothing we can do.

We were quoted in writing a price by ******* in Internet Sales for a vehicle which the sales manager ***** refused to honor. He then told us he would give us something for the hassle we received. ***** said he was giving us free oil changes with car wash for 5 years, supposedly not every customer receives this as it is something they keep in their back pocket. This service is given to anyone who purchases a vehicle at this dealership, it is advertised on their website and flyers throughout their dealership. Then we noticed some dealership add ins were not completed. We want them to honor the price we received in writing and the money back for the add ons not done by the dealership.

      Hello ****,

I want to apologize for the negative experience you and your husband had when you purchased your vehicle from us.  I am glad that we were able to personally connect and that I was able to address your concerns.  The behavior of ***** was not acceptable and for your troubles we will have a credit of $1,000 at our dealership for you to use towards any aftermarket products, service, labor and parts.

As far as the aftermarket product (Red Scripted Corvette), I am still waiting on an answer from my upper management.  As soon as I hear back from them, I will be in touch.

Thank you again and have a wonderful weekend.

On 12/01/21, I brought my car into be diagnosed for its check engine light and inability to charge my car, I was informed that there was a rat infestation in my car, and the rats chewed through some cables, and it'd cost me over 4k to fix. I filed an insurance claim, and insurance took care of it.On 02/04/22, I paid for my car, and picked it up. I then brought my car in for a smog check. It didn't pass a smog check. I've brought it back to the dealership, and they informed me, I have to drive it more.Driven it more, failed a smog check, brought it back in, and they said I need to drive at least 500 miles.Driven it more, failed a smog check, brought it back in, they said it needs to be driven on gas 500 miles.Driven it more, failed a smog check, then they said I have to use a specific way of driving, 55 miles per hour for a long period of time.Driven it more, failed a smog check, then they said I have to ensure that I never once charge it during all those miles.Driven it more, failed a smog check, and then they said I have to put the car into mountain driving mode. Then finally on 10/18/2022, they informed me that the Valve Cover PCV Port is leaking, and that's why it wouldn't pass a smog check. They also billed me for the diagnostics and informed me that passing a smog check isn't the dealership's responsibility.I have invoices from:2022-10-18 2022-08-29 2022-06-21 2022-02-04 2021-11-20 I can probably also retrieve my ****** Location logs to show I've been both to the dealership and smog-check multiple times. My assumption is that when I bring my car in, to be repaired, it's repaired to a condition, in which I can legally and safely operate the vehicle on the road. I do feel I have been charged more than necessary, and not provided the service I've paid for, which was the repair of my vehicle to the safe and legal operating standards of **********.

      Complaint: 19891462

I am rejecting this response because:

The response seems to indicate, I got my vehicle serviced once, and then out of the blue 10 months later, went back in, with a brand new issue; this was not the case. I got a huge bill to fix everything wrong with my car in 2021, went through insurance, got my vehicle serviced, and in early 2022 had the vehicle returned to me, since the moment it was returned to me the vehicle has not been repaired to legal operation standards. I smog checked the car right after it was fixed, and it didn't pass smog. I worked with the dealership, since they explained to me, the nature of the engine and smog check requires operation, and it's normal for my car to not pass smog given the nature of their work. Then across many months and constant re-visitations, while working with the dealership, failed to remedy the issue. Then much later, while still failing to remedy the original issue from end of 2021, charged me a new diagnostics fee and stated that my vehicle is old, and they can't guarantee a resolution.

In that case, when I got my vehicle serviced the first time, I could've gotten my car totaled by my insurance, and been paid out by insurance for the salvage value of my car. If my vehicle can no longer be operated legally on the road, it's a salvage event. The way the dealership is handling this is denying responsibility for the existing situation. As a person who isn't in the business, when I get my car fixed for engine related issues, we assume that once everything is done, the vehicle can safely operate on the road again. When we bring the vehicle into the dealership and pay 200 something for a full diagnostics, we expect everything to be surfaced, and when we fixed all the things brought up by it, we expect the car is able to operate legally on the road. Personally, I would've just wanted my vehicle to pass smog, but now, if they're saying it'll never pass smog, then it's possible I lost the opportunity for my insurance company to provide me a replacement vehicle.

I brought my car in, because I'm concerned it can't be legally operated on the streets, paid money to the insurance, paid thousands to the car dealership, insurance paid thousands to the dealership, and after all this, I still don't have a vehicle that can legally operate on the streets.

      Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because:

First, you guys are not honoring the warranty of repair. I went in for a smog and engine problem, you guys "fixed it", and afterwards, it can't pass smog. Secondly, it when you guys denied the responsibility for it passing smog, the car was still covered under PZEV which very much puts the dealership responsible for the vehicle passing smog. Third, you claim this case has been closed, but, it still seems very much open to me, which kind of reflects the dishonesty and disservice I've received from my good faith cooperation with you guys across the year you told me to keep driving the car to "set the flags" and "the computer needs you to drive it more to pass smog" and "driving it more is the only way to set the registers, unfortunately". I gave you guys money for a repaired vehicle, and you gave me back a vehicle, that cannot legally operate on the streets.

      Complaint: 19891462

I am rejecting this response because:

Well, if the BBB has closed this case, then I guess there is no point in you guys responding. Which is weird how you guys keep responding to a "closed case". Given how many 1 star reviews your Yelp has, and the nature of those reviews, it seems pretty clear to me, that you guys are a pretty unscrupulous business. It is a shame that nobody has held you guys accountable.

I never rejected any offers to repair the vehicle. I rejected your request for another 5k to possibly repair the issue, with no guarantees that it will be fixed, and your claim that you guys are ultimately not responsible for smog. So why would I give you guys 5k, for effectively, no displacement? Again, the vehicle was able to pass smog before the engine problem, I came in for the engine light. After your "extensive diagnostics", you diagnosed the issues, I paid you guys to fix it, and the next day the car fails smog. What does your warranty of repair even mean? Nothing. Neither that, but on PZEV basis alone, yes, you guys are responsible for smog.

If you guys don't want to fix it, that's fine, I'd like all the money I've paid you guys back, and ideally, payment for the time I've lost believing in your instructions to keep driving the car, waiting in the waiting room as you guys were "repairing my vehicle", the time lost due to the need to use alternative transportation, the time I lost while pursuing this matter, all at my over-time double-time wage.

      Sincerely,

I went in today 2/21/23 about 5:30pm ask about getting work done to my 2011 chev equinox and I was quoted $1700. They started the paperwork, asking questions and everything then the worker contacted the manager and I was told by the manager at that time that he wouldn't work on nor fix ANYTHING on my car because my car has ******* miles on it. It didn't make any sense so customers are turned away based on how many miles on their car when they are paying for the service wow. That was very rude.

      Hello *****,

I am sorry we were not able to work on your vehicle.  When it comes to vehicles with high mileage, we have to take into consideration that performing a repair can come back with a major failure on the engine.  Unfortunately your vehicle already had signs of a significant failure with the engine, so that is why the repairs could not be completed.

I would like the opportunity to personally speak with you about your experience to further discuss.  You can reach me directly at *************.  I look forward to your call.

I am a victim of identity theft. Someone has used my information to attempt to purchase a vehicle from Culver City Chevrolet. I did speak with the manager, ****, last Friday when I first found out my identity had been stolen and let him know so he would not sell a vehicle using fraudulent information. I have since found multiple inquiries on my credit report from this attempt, including Culver City Chevrolet. All banks that I have spoken with inform me to contact Culver City Chevrolet to find out exactly how many and what banks they have sent my information to, and if anyone has approved a loan. The Federal Trade Commission also outlined a plan for me contact Culver City Chevrolet to follow up on my identity theft. I have also filed a police report to which they stated I should contact Culver City Chevrolet along with any banks that may have my information, in an effort to obtain further details. I have reached out to Culver City Chevrolet on multiple occasions to resolve this issue as soon as possible, and to ensure that they have not used my information to sell a vehicle. I have left messages for the manager ****. The receptionist has informed me that they are leaving messages on his desk and texting him my phone number to ask for a return call. **** will not return my call. I have been directed to the finance department and internet sales department as well, to which they direct the receptionist to send my call back to ****. I obtained his email address and sent my request for information to him there, with no reply. I am still unaware if a loan was approved using my information fraudulently or if a vehicle was sold to someone fraudulently. This is an extremely time-sensitive issue. In an attempt to protect my personal information and credit I need Culver City Chevrolet to reply as soon as possible and a correction to my credit report.

Summary: I traded in a leased vehicle to Culver City Chevrolet and they did not report the lease resumption to ************, resulting in ************ continuing to charge me for the vehicle and damage my credit. Culver City Chevrolet has been unresponsive in solving the problem and ignores request to provide evidence/documentation of the trade-in. On June 29th, 2020, I traded in a fully paid off, leased 2019 Chevy******** Culver City Chevrolet, exchanging for a 2022 ********. The 2019 vehicle's lease resumption date was on July 3, 2022. On August 25th, I received notifications that ************ reported late payments to the credit bureaus on the traded-in 2019 vehicle. After speaking with GM over the phone several times since August 25th, they were unaware of Culver City Chevrolet's possession of the vehicle until August 26th. My issue is with Culver City Chevrolet for several reasons: - the lack of reporting/diligence of my trade-in vehicle resulting in damage to my credit - unresponsive conduct I call in to fix the problem. There's always a reason why a manager can't take the call, and my first conversation with a manager was on Sept 2nd. - Culver City Chevrolet has ignored requests to produce a receipt of trade-in vehicle, or provide information in writing to either myself or ************. Culver City Chevrolet's conduct appears fraudulent due to both their lack of action and willful avoidance of my issue, which continues damage my credit.

We own a 2018 Chevy Trax. We got an "overheating" message and stopped the car. The surge tank was pretty close to empty and we brought it into Culver Chevrolet where we bought it. They told us the radiator was broken and needed to be replaced $1800. We authorized the work, but the problem was happening over and over again. The tank keeps losing water. It obviously seems like it is a leak and we told them that. They have insisted no leaks exist and we keep getting the runaround. I personally think this is a fraud we didn't need a new radiator. It is just a hose somewhere that is leaking. But that is not as expensive a problem, so they charged us for a new radiator we didn't need and are refusing to do anything else to fix the car.
