My new ***** CX-5 (purchased in Oct. of 2021) with just under 22k miles, had a Toyo tire that completely split open while driving, which could have caused a serious crash. The tire appeared to have a manufacture defect as my roadside repair person from AAA had stated. I brought the car to the Oak Tree ***** Service Dept. to have it replaced under the warranty. I was told to contact ********** as the tire manufacturer would be responsible to cover the cost. **** told me they would cover the tire cost on a prorated basis, based on the number of miles. **** the service dealer contacted Toyo to have them cover part of the cost, **** denied any responsibility and did not cover any of the cost for their defective tire. Due to my car being an all wheel drive, I had to buy four new tires, almost $1k.I am requesting the cost for the new tires be covered by Toyo. I will never be purchasing Toyo tires again, based on the low quality with the tire splitting open, and poor customer service of not covering ANY of the cost for their defective tire breaking.

Purchased a Brand New 2022 ****** Tacoma that came with a full set of Toyo Open country a30 tires. Within 2 months, less than **** miles I had a nail go into the tire which was supposed to be a simple patch and the dealership (***********************) told me it was non repairable. The rep told me the tire had a defect that didnt allow the patch to stick, they then basically forced me into purchasing a tire and never even offered to help me file a claim. I have since gotten the tire replaced at a discount tire for the exact oem but am still very weary of the dealership and Toyo quality and need to know if theres anything that toyo can do to hold itself accountable since the dealership claims to be clear of any fault.

It's been four months since I originally reported a tire issue to Toyo Tires. To date there is still no acceptable resolution. The issue regards a tire blow out on a 2019 ****** Rav 4 that occurred in October of 2021. This was the first model year that these particular tires were used on the ****** Rav 4. The tires had around 20k miles on them and had been serviced regularly, according to ****** service guidelines, by ********************************* in *********, **. Issues are as follows: 1. ********************************* failed to inform me about the 5 year warranty on the tires, 2. ********************************* did not put the blown out tire in my daughter's vehicle like I asked him to as evidence. 3. Even though I asked the service manager to put the blown out tire in her trunk he was forbidden by Toyo Tires policy to do so (which he never mentioned), 4. ********************************* failed to follow Toyo Tires policy in mailing the blown out tire directly to Toyo for inspection, 5. ***************** failed to mail any of the remaining three tires to Toyo for inspection, 5. Toyo refuses to accept my pictures as evidence, 6. Toyo refused to hold ********************************* accountable for failing to follow their procedures in reporting the blown out tire, and 7. ********************************* just happened to be running a "special" on Michelin tires. This situation then turned into a he said, she said, scenario with *********************************, and Toyo Tires, blaming each other. In the meantime I'm out $1,050.00. This all seems fraudulent to me. Neither party wants to accept responsibility so therefore neither party has a legal responsibility? I find that hard to believe. Complete reimbursement of the $1,050.00 is the only acceptable resolution to this issue.

This is the 3rd complaint filed by ************************ with the BBB. Unfortunately we are not able to provide a refund on product that is not Toyo Branded.  It was the decision of the consumer to purchase new tires of a different brand.  Consumer also complained about an issue about 1 tire and is requesting refund on 4 tires of a different brand.  Also the one tire in question was not available to us for inspection and warranty processing and the only information we received from anyone who inspected the tire stated the cause as most likely caused by an impact.  Based on all the information we have we cannot determine the cause and cannot confirm the tire had a warrantable condition.

      Customer response

      03/02/2022

Thats exactly my point. ********************************* was required, by Toro Tire policy, to send the blown out tire to Toyo for inspection. ***************** failed to do so. Also, ***************** failed to inform me of the 5 year warranty on the Toyo Tires that ****** installed on this 2019 Rav 4. As a result of this negligence I was forced to buy 4 new tires. Since I no longer had trust, and faith, in the remaining 3 tires, I had no other option but to purchase tires from a different manufacturer. ********************************* never allowed Toyo Tires to inspect the blown out tire to confirm their diagnosis of the cause. And, Toyo Tires has failed to hold ********************************* responsible for failing to follow proper Toyo Tires policy. Therefore, a full reimbursement of $1,050.00 is the only fair solution for two companies failing to accept responsibility for failing to follow procedure.

The warranty information should have been provided to you when you purchased your vehicle along with your vehicles owners and warranty manuals.  Also a copy of the warranty can be found on our website. The issue is with one tire and one tire only in this case.  There was no evidence or case submitted for the other 3 tires.

      Customer response

      03/04/2022

Both Toyo Tires, and *********************************, failed to follow their agreed procedure for reporting defective tires.

Purchased 4 tires, 225 /50 R17 Toyo Celsius, on 7/14/21. There are currently less than 6,000 miles on these tires. I am not reporting defective tires, but I am reporting poor quality tires. They don't handle well, and they are so loud on the highway. The dealer I bought them from said that I have to go to Toyo. I paid $820.19. I am seeking 50% refund on the tires, as I now have to go and spend another $800 to replace these poorly made tires.

Multiple attempts have been made to contact Mr. ****** to discuss his complaint.  We have also spoken to the manager at the tire shop "Woodies".  In order to start the process we would like Mr. ****** to take his vehicle to the tire dealer for further assistance.  Mr. ****** is more then welcome to contact us or reply to the voicemail.

I am not available during the day by phone, only by email.

I tried to make an appointment with Woodies for this, and they were not interested in doing so.

I will be replacing these tires and throwing them in the trash.
