I purchase a Ranger Rover for $30,000 on 12/17/23 from Auto City in ******** **. The same day 12/17/23 I notice the engine light was on. I called the dealership Auto City in ******** and I was told to take the car back to have their mechanic from the dealership check the car on 12/18/23. I took the car back to the dealership on 12/18/23 and the dealership told me their mechanic did re checked the car and everything was good with the vehicle and with no issues with the car per their mechanic. I was told the car was ready for pick up which I took the vehicle back home on 12/18/23. On 12/22/2023 my husband Drove the car and smoke with flames started coming out of the car and within seconds the car blow up on the freeway. My husband had to jump out the car and burn parts of his clothes. My insurance said the car is no good and complete towed I had the car less than 1 week and now I have to pay deductible for my insurance and took time off from work and had to get a rental and lost personal item due to everything burned in the car. The dealership did fraud on the sale as well, I was suppose to pay the remaining down payment on my next payday and the dealership was suppose to print out another bill of sale contract when I paid the remainder down payment. Instead the dealership lied to the bank and said I provided the whole down payment when I did not. I was supposed to go back that Friday 12/22 to pay the remaining down payment to the dealership but the car blow up in the freeway. The dealership wont take any responsibility and they sold a car they knew had issues and lied and told me it was fine , they also lie to the bank because I never paid the full down payment listed on the bill of sale .

Good afternoon, my complaint is regarding a warranty refund owed to my family. Feb 2023 our Jeep was ** a accident which in the end result to be deemed total loss. March, the car was paid off in full and our finance company ( ************ reached out to the Auto City ******** dealership to request warranty be sent to them so that finds can be mail to our home. I've called the dealership multiple times with nothing resolved. I called Capitol One on 5/5 and I was advised by them that have also communicated with the dealership asking for the status of refund and they took haven't heard back. I even had a 3-way call with both companies. The representative from the dealer said funds were debited from a reseve account but couldn't give the date because their accountant was off and that her was going to call me back the following Monday. No call was given, I had to call today and spoke to someone else at the dealer and I was told the samething " funds were sent from a reseve account" with no date or tracking information. Capitol One doesn't do direct debits is what I was told by ************ *********** needs more information to locate funds and unfortunately, Auto City isn't helping me out. In fact when I called again today to get some information, my call was sent to voicemail. When I tried calling from another number I was hung up on.Can someone please help me resolve this issue. The ******** is really needed in our household especially after having to put a large down payment for another vehicle that we didn't expect having to get after the accident.

Hello ******. If the vehicle is not financed and is owed by a customer, then the balance for cancelled warranty is paid directly to the customer. If, however, the vehicle is financed, the balance is provided to the lender and is supposed to be applied to the loan balance. *********** is one of those lenders that actually charges dealerships' funding accounts and process such refunds itself. It does not do a direct debit from an actual bank account, but from a funding-reserve accounts with its dealers. Nevertheless, we issued a check to *********** last week in an effort to expediate this, which factually resulted in double charges to our dealership. This check was already cashed by *********** and it should be applied to your account. So please check with your lender.

Due to the way *********** works, we were not supposed to send any refund checks.

This place had the vehicle I wanted so I went there and thought I had a seamless time. My issue arises months after purchase when I received a $1100 dmv registration ****, after I was informed by a salesman and a member of the finance department that I wouldn't be getting any dmv letters or renewals until I have had the vehicle for over a year. Sounded awesome at the time, until now they are denying all statements and saying no one said that, and I'm on my own for a $1100 **** that I had no planning for. I'm a 100% disabled combat veteran who is 100% unemployable. I don't have that kind of money just waiting around to pay bills that I was told I wouldnt have. I think they took advantage of me, and said what they needed to to make the sale. I will be escalating this to the BBB, and whoever I need to so it doesnt happen to anyone else

This issue was resolved with a customer.

Only transfer fee was due at the time of the sale as registration was valid beyond 90 days and could no be extended. There were no charges to the customer for registration extension at the time of sale.
