    hello 3/13/2025 i was contacted by a business named ringplanet they said that the *** had done away with landlines (telephones and that they were taking over for our phone company brightspeed and that i needed to go digital or loose my service so i went with what the salesman said BUT it was a lie to get me to switch over to them i want out of this i do not want their service how can i do business **** a company that would lie to begin with

    Complaint about Ring Planet:My husband received a call today from a male who claimed to be calling from ***** He advised that our land line would soon be discontinued and wanted to send us some digitalequipment we could hook up ourselves and it would reduce our bill to around *****. My husband explained we dont have reliable cell service in our area so the digital equipment wouldnt work just like our cell phones dont work at home. But the guy convinced him it would work.Once the guy advised the bill would start coming from RingPlanet, my husband should have realized he was being scammed, but alas he did not and agreed to try it for 30 days. When I got home from work and heard all the details of the call, including my husband being transfered to a floor supervisor to verify check the first guys work, and then on to yet a third ******* I knew he had been scammed. I immediately called **** directly and confirmed they are NOT working with RingPlanet nor authorizing them to make these calls. They also confirmed there were no plans to cancel my landline. I tried calling RingPlanet back tonight but of course they are already closed. I called another phone number provided by the floor supervisor but it just plays cheesy music for a couple of minutes and the disconnects(what a surprise huh?).I will be calling back tomorrow during business hours to cancel this equipment which we wont be installing, but I after reading other complaints about this company, I suspect we are in for a fight. Its criminal and downright shameful to misrepresent themselves like this. If they try and bill me or charge me to send the equipment back I will be filing a complaint with the ******************************* as well. Please dont fall for this bait and switch scam they have going on. Lord only knows what county these scammers are working from. What a sham.

    My grandfather signed up for ring planet phone service. His bill was originally affordable and then sky rocketed. I dont know why anyone would pay 80 dollars a month for home service. Anyway, we have been trying to transfer his number to vonage. For almost a month. Ring Planet isnt responding to Vonages request for the transfer. Both Vonage and I have tried to escalate this so that we could finish this out. Ring planet customer service is incredibly rude. They will talk in circles and then refuse to allow you to speak to a supervisor. I think at this point they just prey on older people. High recommend staying away from this company.

    Review for RingPlanet: My Mothers Experience My elderly mother had an awful experience with RingPlanet, and I feel compelled to share her story to warn others. She was contacted by a representative who falsely claimed to be from her current phone provider, pressuring her to switch to a necessary digital upgrade. Trusting their word, she agreed, only to regret it immediately.Despite not having received any equipment yet, she decided to cancel the service after realizing the misrepresentation. However, when she called RingPlanet to cancel, they told her she could not do so until she received the equipment. This felt like a stalling tactic to tie her into their services. It was a frustrating and confusing experience for her.This kind of deceptive behavior is unacceptable, especially when targeting vulnerable individuals like my mother. No one should have to jump through hoops to cancel a service they never wanted in the first place.Rating: 0/5 Pros: None.Cons: Misleading sales tactics, refusal to allow cancellation, lack of transparency, preying on vulnerable individuals.I urge others to stay away from RingPlanet. If youve had similar issues, report them to consumer protection agencies or the Better Business Bureau to help hold them accountable.

    Around June 12,2024 received a call from a *********************** representing himself as an employee of Frontier Communications (local phone company). He explained Frontier was doing away with their copper based phoned lines. He said all equipment in the home was becoming obsolete and Frontier was swapping out their equipment to customers. He never asked for personal info or payment method. He needed to verify the number of phones and T.V.s. He said he needed to transfer me to shipping only to verify equipment and stated they(shipping) did not have access to the account only needed to verify equipment. ****** gave contact number of ************, if I had any questions. Transfer was made and they told me what they were shipping. They gave me the address. i was told to call ************ when equipment arrives and would be talked through connection steps. I contacted Frontier because something just didn't seem quite right. Frontier informed me there were no work orders on the account. I asked to be transferred to their ***************** Through the conversation with legal it was discovered that Frontier was not making changes and Phone numbers were to a tele communication company in **********. when equipment arrived (one package Fed Ex one package Amazon) i did not call. instead, they called and wanted to install. I did not have time. They call the next day and i explained they had misrepresented themselves and we would not be using their equipment. i was asked to return devices. Fed Ex Package was returned with enclosed returned label 7-1-24. The Amazon package had no return label. so I asked to have label mailed so return to be made. They asked for email to send label and i did not give email. just requested label to be mailed. On 7-1-24 received an email from ring planet communications with pdf attached with a bill of $322.48, email was never provided to them. This seems to be a bait and switch type scheme to steal customers from other phone companies.

    RING PLANET LED US TO BELIEVE THAT THEY WERE PART OF OUR PHONE COMPANY FRONTEIR, THEY INFORMED US THAT WE HAD TO CHANGE OUR PHONE LINES AND INSTALL VOICE-OVER IP PHONES, SO WE PURCHASED THE PHONES FROM THEM. THEN THEY DISCONNECTED OUR PHONE SERVICES FROM FRONTIER AND REPLACED THE SERVICE WITH VONAGE. THEN WE WERE OUT OF PHONE SERVICE AT THE BUSINESS FOR TWO DAYS, THEN WHEN WE CONTACTED OUR PHONE COMPANY THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THIS MATTE, SO WERE WERE SCAMMED INTO GOING WITH THEM. THEY NOW KEEP CHARGING OUR CREDIT CARD FOR SERVICES NOT PROVIDED.

    On Jan 4th,2024 ring planet called did not identify them until I had problem, present as if they are partner with frontier and if I do not change my phone line then it would not work because it is a landline, so I signed all the contract at that time I knew this is ring planet when I got the contract and called next day frontier to stop port, frontier said I have to cancel the contract I reach out 10 times to ring planet they are bullying me and hanging up and send their equipment, I also email their customer service to cancel my order, I called to return them she would not let me talk and talk over me and when I went to ************ to return their box ***** could not find address who has sent me. This is doctor's ****** and my all three line has been hijacked and real planet is not responding.Please BE AWARE OF THIS COMPANY is located in **********. HELP ME spoke to ***********************,*******,*******,******,****,********.

    My ATT land line was out of service 3 of 4 weeks. I was contacted by Ring Plantet who had device to bypass indoor phone **** and deliver signal throught their device to phone. It sounded like a free trial, no charges were mentioned. I cancelled by phone after 1 week the device was too loud and wire was trip hazard in den. I received confirmation by email. I kept the device 1 more week until ATT installed VOIP (2 weeks use) about April 9. The agent said "wait for return kit" I waited about 2 months, called again, and finally received "the kit" which was only a ***** voucher. I had the device in my posession about 3 months. My bills contain "One Time Charges," "Monthly Charges," Taxes. Total Balance Due in November $179.59 Then I began receiving bills for usage, one time charges totalling about $200 at present time.

    Well, I certainly do not appreciate when customers lie when filing complaint.  Your service started on 10/9/23.  On 11/9/23 we were notified you ported back to AT&T on 11/3/23.  We sent you a pre-paid ***** return label on that same day (not 2 months later).   Your balance for the service you had for nearly a month is $97.49.  This includes time you had service, $10 activation fee; $15 shipping and handling; $2.99 for the warranty and taxes.  As a courtesy I will waive and credit $32.99 (activation, shipping and handling and warranty) provided you pay the balnce of $64.50.

    Contacted ring planet due to my home phone not working , the agent refused to help me fix my problem, would not transfer me or let me Speak to anyone else, she was very rude and my problem is still unresolved. My wife has several medical problems and is wheelchair bound. With all of her health problems it is crucial that we have a working phone, that is why we pay to have a phone in our home and there was no effort to get our phone repaired. Absolutely the worst customer service I had ever received

    In the interim we worked with the customer and sent a replacement device and the problem is now fixed and resolved.
