Non existing customer service. If possible "0" stars. On 4/29/24 I purchased over $2,230.00 in trees, plants and service one of which was supposed to be a Guava Pineapple (super) from Moon Valley Nurseries in **********. After some months this tree is obviously not what I bought for $399.00. I went back to the nursery with a piece of the tree along with a piece of a correct one and was told there was nothing they would do to resolve. I went down the road to another nursery and purchased the plant I wanted (even larger) for about $25.00. ****** learned - do your homework and shop around.

What a disgrace, from the quality of their plants (I would have done better going to ************ their sales team, the planting crew and, to add insult to injury, their so-called customer service who phoned to see if they could put things right after I complained, made an appointment and didn't even bother to show up. Seriously, how do people like this stay in business.

Moon Valley made an appointment with me to have a representative come out to check on the trees and see if we were happy with them. The day of, (today) I'm waiting for the representative to come out onsite to ***********, ** and the person never showed up for the 10:00am appointment. I called the representative and was told by that representative that she was shipped out to another location a week ago so she and Moon Valley Nurseries has no intention of keeping the customer appointment they had set sever weeks prior. I do not recommend dealing with this company or their staff in all locations because their unwritten policy is to stand up the customer and ignore them once payment is received. The only defamation committed here was solely on the behaviors and shoulders promoted by this company.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!Before working with this company I strongly advise a quick ****** search " Moon Valley Nursery lawsuits ." I wish I had. There are lots of them. They promise everything and deliver on few of their promises. Once my planting of ******* dollars worth of trees was complete I expressed my concerns to my rep ************************* that the planting had not been done properly. My concerns were completely blown off. Luckily I purchased the *** program which sends a specialist out every 3 months for the first year to inspect and attend to plants. At his first visit (***** was my tree tech and I have nothing but GOOD things to say about him - he was visibly distressed at the planting job) ***** confirmed that the plants had not been backfilled correctly and were thus suffering from severe distress. Many will need replanting or will take years to recover from the stress of poor planting protocols. I am still in discussions as to whether they will be replaced and at whose expense. (I have the warranty, but if I don't use it I get half of the warranty cost back - a very clever way to hook people in with a false sense of security while making sure their own costs are covered and then some.)If I had not paid for the extended warranty I would be stuck with a huge number of sick plants to deal with on my own. Once they have received the check and your sales person has his commission, you are unlikely to get any response from anyone. Really wishing I had gone with another company. Nothing is more distressing to me than placing my trust in a business only to find out their morals are lacking.

RETAIL BUYER BEWARE: I'm usually hesitant to write negative reviews, especially for small businesses, but my experience with Moon Valley Nurseries was truly disheartening. I visited their nursery to explore hedging options for my yard, hoping for expert guidance from their sales team.I was greeted by a young salesperson who seemed knowledgeable and enthusiastic. They recommended plants (Silver Sheen Pittosporum) that they assured me would thrive in my yard. I was presented with two choices: an expensive option with a warranty (over $10,000) or a self-planting option (discounted to $4,500). Opting for the latter, I felt confident in my decision.Unfortunately, my confidence was misplaced. Within a year, a staggering 80% of the plants I purchased had withered away. Despite my attempts to reach out to the salesperson for guidance, they remained unresponsive and unhelpful. It's disappointing to see such a lack of accountability after making a significant investment. What troubles me even more is learning that the salesperson was familiar with the local coastal communities near my home. This suggests that the chosen plants weren't suitable for my environment, a clear case of negligence driven by inexperience and perhaps pressure to make sales.I understand the need for businesses to thrive, and I'm willing to support that. However, it's disheartening when short-term gains overshadow the potential for building a reputable legacy. Moon Valley Nurseries, by not conducting thorough research and selling plants without considering their suitability, has left me with a $5,000 loss and a sense of disappointment. As a customer, I too have financial responsibilities and expectations. It's my hope that businesses like Moon Valley Nurseries prioritize customer satisfaction and long-term relationships over immediate sales. This experience serves as a cautionary tale and a reminder of the importance of ethical business practices.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! Received their flyer by mail for the grand opening of their **************** location near ******. Flyer quoted a price of 3 "Super" trees for $999 including delivery and planting. WHAT UTTER NONSENSE. Walking past trees 20' tall or so (smaller than those pictured in the advertisement) to very small (less than 6') trees. *smaller than those I purchased the week before at a local supermarket for $46 for my patio. Not only was the sales person not an arborist, he knew very little about nursery, plants, etc. The advertising was misleading at best, completely false more likely.

On November 26, 2021 Moon Valley delivered and planted a Purple Leaf Plum ************************* manager asked me to sign a last chance extended warranty. I was told at the time of purchase that I had 3 months until after the standard warranty expires, so I declined to sign it.The next day ***************************** emailed me to expect a customer satisfaction call that day.I never received the call, so I contacted Moon Valley 0n the 27th and I was told I would get a call back within the hour, that also never happened. When the crew planted the tree, they damaged the irrigation drip emitter so I had to hire irrigation company to fix it. In spring, the tree did not show much progress in blooming, even with watering and Moon Juice that the company pushes you to buy. I was hoping that the plum tree was in transplant shock, but the next spring it did not revive. The customer service that Moon ********************** provides is pitiful and very disappointing. I would NOT recommend them to anyone.
