            I brought my car in to have the transmission trouble diagnosed. It's an old car and I did not want to spend a lot on it. They called to say that the initial charge for the diagnostic would be about $200 and I approved that. A few days later they told me the transmission needs a full rebuild for a total of $4000. I told them I just wanted to pay the diagnostic fee and tow the car out. They said that would be approximately $1000 since they had pulled the transmission for a full inspection. After I complained that I had not approved that in advance, they claimed that they had given me that figure during the first phone call. I felt that I had no choice but to pay that and tow the car out which I did. After doing some research, I decided to have a garage that I trust put in a used transmission. As soon as the technician at Grand Garage began work, he said that it was apparent that only the oil pan of the transmission had been removed; there were no signs of anything else having been touched. So I believe that Transmission Pros has charged many hundreds of dollars for work that they did not do.

            Im not sure this is us. I have only one invoice for a studabaker back in 2021.we only resealed the pan and rear seal and charged just over 500.Seems like a different shop.
