They said I needed a water pump and timing belt and it would cost $765 so I paid then they called and said I needed an oil pump because there was a hole in it and they wanted me to pay another $1300 they said the mechanic didn't see the hole the first time when he did the diagnostic so I had it towed to another mechanic because I felt that they should've caught that hole in the beginning but when my car got to the other mechanic my car was basically a mess I didn't need an oil pump I needed an oil gasket that was in back of the oil pump the gasket had collapsed they also did my timing belt but the timing belt cover was missing a bolt when it got to the other mechanic, my power steering belt was loose, my harmonic balancer was hand tightened and my upper radiator hose was collapsed I thought when you pay for a diagnostic they would tell you all this especially since my oil pump is in the vicinity of the water pump I would have had to pay another $1300 but I think if they would have fixed that oil leak while they had my car apart and fixing on it the first time they wouldn't have been asking for another $1300 because once he called back and told me that I needed an oil pump he wanted to charge me for the oil pump which I get that part but he also wanted to charge me more hours that they was going to have to take it apart again and go back in there which I get maybe a little bit more hours but not as many hours to go back in and take everything back off to replace that part when they shouldve caught that the first time while they have everything off and they had already done the diagnostic I also dont understand how you dont put back all the bolts or tighten everything back up also I feel I should get back some type of reimbursement because they lost one of my bolts and didnt tighten some of my bolts and they didnt do the diagnostics right because they missed some things and these things are dangerous

we have told the customer that she needed a timing belt and water pump due to the condition of the vehicle in how it arrived to the shop in June 26, 2024. The 2001 ****** Camry 2.2L arrived to us with the vehicle not starting, all it would do is crank. we checked for spark, fuel and air and everything is working and when inspected for timing belt we did notice that there was a bolt missing (possibly from any previous repairs) besides that we took the cover off and noticed that the engine timing belt has ripped in half and was missing a lot of the timing ****** that the belts usually have. We recommended the timing belt with the water pump at that moment and remind you the vehicle did not started at the time it would just crank and we did not noticed any visual oil leak (besides the oil leak that came from the valve cover gasket which is irrelevant to the oil pump because there opposite side of each other). Once the customer okayed the **********************, we went ahead and started on the job, and we noticed that the engine block is covered in oil and gunk (from engine valve cover), and we went ahead and cleaned off all the gunk/oil ****** that it had, and installed the new water pump and timing belt and put everything back together. Once we got the car started, we noticed that there was a leak coming from the oil leak right a head and when we took a further look into it we noticed it was coming from the pump itself. we told the customer and se denied the **********************, so we went ahead and put all the parts we removed back on the car and let her take the car due to her denying the repair. We did not charge the customer a diagnostic fee and the actual total to the amount of the repair is $750.94. Also I would like to talk to the customer due to my service writer and I haven't heard about this situation and wanted to get more information about it. thank you.

why didnt they tell me that there was a bolt missing and why all the other bolts or screws wasnt tighten they was loose and my son did call up there and talked to someone about the bolt missing and things not being screwed back on tight and they didnt mention nothing about the bolt being missing then all they said was sorry about that and thats when I got upset and wrote the BBB because they should have been more professional then that and also I didnt need no oil pump all I needed was an oil gasket because it had collapsed and right now its running very well with no problems even though they didnt put an oil pump on there they just put a new oil gasket that had collapsed I dont think someone over there knows what their doing and they telling the owner something else because they dont want to get in trouble which I can understand because when my son called they acknowledged about the bolt and they said sorry for that and the other things they worked on that they didnt s**** back tight it was like they were hand tightened

Hello there again, I totally understand the frustration of my service writer not explaining everything that we noticed that was missing and I do apologize for it. I would still love to talk to you or your son over the phone or in person to discuss about this matter because I want to help you guys out with this as much as I can. My phone number is ************ and my name is ******** and im the manager here at JJ Auto Repair. I won't be able to give you a refund due to us doing the repair and getting your vehicle repaired and starting, and about the oil gasket collapsing that could have been due to the timing belt ripping/braking while the vehicle was driving, and we didn't notice it until we got the car started. I have talked to the service writer that you have talked to previously and have discussed the matter with him and there will be consequences about his action again. I do apologize for this situation and if you have any other questions id be more than happy to answer them for you again my number is ************ i can do phone call and or text messages.

Ive took the vehicle there multiple times for the same issue. They seem to just guess I kept believing them one thing after another for an overheating issue. The car will even have a check engine light and they would just turn it off Ive spent time and money believed what they told me at the end once I had them change the radiator and coolant oil change my car leaves the shop returned the next day. They drained the radiator fluid refilled it vehicle was picked up took back the next now they said there is water in the motor I ask for the owner to contact me it took him 2 weeks. He says they been trying to contact me but never had a call or anything. The vehicle supposedly needed, valve cover gaskets got the heads adjusted tune up radiator flush multiple times water pump thermostat new radiator nothing ever fixed the issue and the end I spent 600 dollars for them to tell me the motor has water and they need to fix that to find the issue. I told them in a respectful professional way fix the issue you cause the vehicle doesnt leave the town so now it went from water in the motor to crack heads. They clearly damaged my vehicle playing there guessing game having me spend money time to never fix any issues they claim and at the end tell me we had to fix all that to find the issue with the motor heads after I took it all year and they claim they did 3 head test too.

      Good Afternoon,

This is ********* and ******** From JJ Auto Repair. Thank you for reaching out to us about this claim from Mr. ******************************** These are our two invoices that we have on this vehicle under Mr. ******************************* requested we normally suggest a diagnostic before replacing any part but in this case he brought his car for knocking noise and suggested a valve adjustment and replacement of valve cover gasket, after this repair was done it fixed the knocking noise and didn't have any problems. The second time he brought the car he had an overheating problem, we diagnose the car and we found the radiator was cracked and we let ********************* know about the problem and we suggested to replace the radiator and thermostat and do a coolant flush, and he suggested on bringing his own parts and wanted us to just put the labor to get his car fixed, before we installed the parts we told the customer that there will be no warranty on parts that he brings to us to install. After installing the parts we checked for any overheating problems (no problems were found after bleeding the system and letting it idle for two hours)  and we test drove the vehicle and we did not see any overheating problem. He took the vehicle home and 3-4 days later he came back with an overheating problem again, we did another diagnostic, we did a head gasket leak test (combustion test and did not noticed the fluid changing color) , coolant pressure leak ( did noticed the pressure going down), and we checked the engine oil dipstick and noticed that there was coolant mixed in with the engine oil (due to it being a caramel chocolate color) we drained the engine oil just to be sure and that's when we confirmed our suspicion. We made several attempts to ******************** and he did not pick up until a week later that we called and he finally answered and that's when we explained the issue to him. He was upset thinking we did something to his vehicle but we just fixed what we noticed was wrong when it first came in.

I brought my daughters vehicle in for an oil change. After one-two weeks I noticed small oil drops on my driveway. I told my daughter to bring me her vehicle so that I can see wheres the leak. I noticed the under carriage near the oil drain plug was wet with oil. I then took it back to JJ Auto Repair and he stated that the plug was just loose. After a while I noticed that it was leaking oil again as my daughter does not live with me. I schedule her vehicle for maintenance check up with Deans Auto repair in ********* **. **** discovered the cause of the oil leak. He said that JJ Auto Repair had over torqued the drain plug causing and caused the small hole on the oil pan. The oil pan needed to be replaced and I had Deans Auto do the repairs and Informed JJ Auto repair of this as I had no confidence in JJ Auto repair to make proper repairs after damaging my daughters car.

The very first time we met ******************* was on 5/21/22 when he brought his daughter *************************** and her vehicle to do an engine oil change. He came back two weeks later to report an engine oil leak and when we saw the oil leak, we noticed that the drain plug was loose and needed to be tightened but instead of tightening it we replaced the drain plug and replaced the drain plug gasket/ seal with no extra charge. After that no more leaks or concerns from customers. **************** came in the beginning of september to talk to me about his daughters vehicle  (note his daughter *************************** brought her vehicle with us 5/21/22 to get an engine oil change.) and said "it was leaking oil, and that **** automotive told him about the leak". We told him if he can bring the vehicle over to us so we can inspect it and if anything needs to be changed we will change it at no cost. but then he said they started working on it and couldn't bring the vehicle. when we talk to ****************** told him to bring the oil pan down to us so we can inspect, and when we inspected the oil pan we did not see any physical wear, damage, or warpage around the drain plug and we added engine oil to the oil pan and let it sit there to see if there was any leaks happening from the drain plug. We left it for 24 hrs and we did not see any leaks or anything like that and we would have left it longer to see, but **************** was being inpatient and wanted to take the oil pan back. I want you to take in consideration that the service we gave to ******************** daughter was done a year ago and his daughter signed off on it. So within that time frame the vehicle could have gotten another oil change in a different location where his daughter is living in (due to her not living with **************** as he stated in his complaint.) This doesn't mean that we did not want to help him out before having the BBB being involved, Mr ********* offered **************** to pay for the oil pan but declined the offer ( verbally).

I am rejecting this response because: ** auto is telling you the truth.I have contacted the bureau of automotive repair.  ** had agreed to the bureau of automotive to pay only for the oil pan and not the labor for the repairs. I have yet to receive any payment.  ** are telling the truth
