I financed a used electric vehicle 2021 ***** Evolt in October 2024. After two months the service light came on and it reduced propulsion and the car would not charge more than 60 miles at a time. It caused me to be stuck out of town for a couple of days. The service light and check engine light was on so I contacted the service departmen at Folsom Chevrolet and they scheduled the service right away. The car was scheduled for a tire rotation and an inspection and the cost was only $30. . I was told it needed a new air cabin filter and the cost was almost $100. I agreed to the filter. I notified them what problems I was having and they said it was not related to the service. They said I had to leave my car overnight while they contacted a specialist to diagnose it. They provided a rental car and then told me that it would be 30 days until my battery arrived. I was okay with that no problem. After 2 months they contact me and said that my battery arrived but the 12 volt battery in the car had died. I was very angry because the battery worked fine before I left it there and they failed to charge it or keep it charged or possibly the defective battery caused the other battery to die too early. They said the new battery would cost me $350. I did not have the money I told them I will bring in my own battery and I will pick up the bad one. I am disputing the purchase a new battery when it was their responsibility to keep it charged I had to get a service that was not due yet because service is every 7500 miles the car only had 2000 miles since I bought it. I had to pay for the service Plus the filter. The service was $30 to filter was $90 and the battery was $300. The time and frustration I have experienced due to this defective battery has put a lot of stress on me. I have my car back now but it's very fearful knowing that it can cause a fire anytime for the same problem can happen again. Folsom Chevrolet should be held responsibleInitial Complaint

We bought a Truck that was supposed to hall our ***** lb. trailer. The salesman sold us the truck and said the truck would hall our trailer. He said the capacity was ****** lbs.The first time we hauled the trailer, we got a mile down the road and the truck bed and frame was bent. The dealership tried to get ** to fix it, but they denied the claim and said the trailer was overweight. No evidence was provided, and no explanation was given. Even though the truck sticker says it **** **** ****** lbs. and the trailer only weighs ****** lbs. Now that its back in the dealers' hands, they won't accept any responsibility for selling me the wrong truck. They aren't offering any solutions to help out with the problem that they caused. We put $4000 down and financed about $65,000.This does seem like a factory defect but since I am only one person, they won't help me out at all.Business Response

Dear ****** ********,
The towing capacity of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD when using a gooseneck/fifthwheel hitch is ****** lbs.
We have taken all of the required steps to obtain authorization to repair your truck. Unfortunately, the claim has been denied.
Our recommendation is to turn the claim in to your insurance company or file a claim with ************** to buy back the vehicle.
Customer Answer
Date: 02/04/2025
I am rejecting this response because:
The claim with GM was already filed and rejected with no explanation.
If the truck sold to me by Folsom ****** (which can hall ****** lbs as stated by Folsom ******* why did if fail with a ***** lb trailer? NOBODY can answer that!
Folsom ***** sold me the truck and said it would hall my ***** lb. trailer. Since it can't hall my trailer as specified by Folsom ****** they need to make it right! Either fix it so it can hall ***** lbs. or buy it back!
Its not my insurance company's or MY responsibility to fix this issue.
Either Folsom ***** sold me the wrong truck or GM built a faulty truck!
Business Response
Date: 02/06/2025
As stated before the Truck comes with a manufacturer's warranty. Folsom Chevrolet is the dealer not the manufacturer of the truck. If you do not want your insurance company involved (we would assume they would go after the manufacturer of the truck ) then i assume you should get some legal counsel and proceed from there.Customer Answer
Date: 02/06/2025
I am rejecting this response because:
Legal action is not working, no lawyers will do anything because it's not a known lemon law.
** rejected the manufacturer warranty with no explanation.
Insurance company won't cover manufacturer defects. I discussed this with them, and I was advised that the claim would get rejected.
The dealership acknowledges this truck should hall ***** lbs. but it failed at *****lbs. How on earth is this my fault? Folsom ***** sold me the truck, and said it would hall ***** lbs. shouldn't they make it right?
Seems like I'm stuck with a defective truck and nobody's taking responsibility or willing to do anything to make it right.
I don't know your limitations or your procedures, but it would sure be nice if the people that make statements and sell you a ****** vehicle, would be held accountable for malfunctions to the contrary. They should have to deal with the factory, that's a nightmare. I dealt with them for the first 3 months of this and we got nowhere?
Thank you for all the HELP!!!!

I took my 2023 ******** in for warranty related maintenance and when I got my car back it was damaged. My car was given back to me with a soda spilled on the hood, greasy hand prints and fingerprints all over the interior and exterior and spilled oil in the engine compartment and trunk which damaged a C8 highway safety kit and the trunk carpet liner. The dealership is denying that they did anything wrong and actually suggested I must have done all this damage and tried to blame it on them. These accusations which I have email proof of are absolutely ridiculous. Folsom Chevrolet is the only dealership that has serviced my Corvette and the only one to do an oil change, so there is no one else who could have done this damage.I will also be contacting GM and filing a complaint with them as well because nobody deserves this kind of treatment when getting their expensive Corvette serviced. To remedy this problem I need Folsom Chevrolet to replace the damaged oil soaked C8 highway safety kit and oil soaked trunk carpet liner which I will install on my own.Business Response
Date: 11/20/2024
Mr. *******,
You are a valued customer and as a goodwill gesture I would like to provide you with a new C8 highway safety kit for your 2023 Corvette.
The kit has been ordered and will arrive on Friday November 22nd.
If you want to further pursue the carpet liner we will need to see the vehicle to assess the damage.
Thank you for your feedback as it is essential for superior customer service.
Customer Answer
Date: 11/21/2024
I am rejecting this response because:
The only acceptable solution for the damage done to my Corvette by Folsom Chevrolet is to replace the C8 highway kit and order me a new trunk liner so I can replace the oil soaked original. I will not be bringing my ******** back to this dealership for any type work and there is nothing to see or inspect that the pictures don't show. The pictures I submitted clearly show that oil was spilled near the plastic passenger side clip that holds the targa top. I have partially removed the trunk liner in order to clean the tub underneath, but the liner being soaked with oil still needs to be replaced.
This matter is also being pursued with GM customer care for a suitable outcome.Business Response
Date: 11/22/2024
Mr. *******,
Your C8 highway safety kit is in and available to pick up.
Are you requesting the liner for the rear of the vehicle? My apologies for requesting to see the vehicle but we want to make sure the liner is the correct color & piece.
Customer Answer
Date: 11/27/2024
I am rejecting this response because:
When the rear trunk liner and C8 highway safety kit are available for pickup I will let BBB know the case has been resolved. I have attached a picture showing the color of the trunk liner (dark charcoal color) and if you want to check the *** it's 1G1G1YB2D40P5105407. I only need the main trunk liner that covers the trunk floor and air filter access cover. I don't need the side liners, just the middle.
Business Response
Date: 11/27/2024
Mr. *******,
Thank you for the detailed information. With that I was able to submit a special order for the liner, the *** is 12/10/24. If it is received sooner than that I will let you know.

Talking type brought my vehicle in for service they said the brake sensors were bad. They informed me that theres 5 mm left on the brake pad and the brake sensors are built into the brake pads. The brand new 12 mm used up. It should be set 5 mm 2 mm, I need to replace the brakes brake pads and rotors at my cost even though the truck only has ****** miles on it and its their defective part that failed and was installed incorrectly according to the service desk when I brought the truck in again and other ongoing issues resulting in having to continually drop my truck off having to get a rental because of the issues it is not normal wear and tear it is not anything I did to cause the issue and it is under warranty and they are still trying to charge me out of pocket for there defective part they installed incorrectly and I am under warranty I want to know why Im being told I have to pay out of pocket for there mistake and faulty part and they want me to replace rotors as well instead of having them turned or whatever they are trying to say saying they need everything replacedInitial Complaint

On December 6, 2023 I had my 2018 Suburban towed to Folsom Chevrolet to have the transmission replaced following a failure while on vacation in ****************. Folsom also did a large amount of maintenance that was due or soon to be due, including fluid and filter changes. Following work done by Folsom Chevrolet, the vehicle has suffered a cascade of malfunctions that cannot be explained by random chance. These failures include:Power steering pump (replaced ~$2000)Differential (replaced ~$2500)Thermostat (replaced ~$200, and 4 hours of my own time to replace it). Battery, new as of December 7 2023 (replaced, $100)Starter (replaced, ~$300, and 6 hours of my own time to replace it)The work Folsom completed led to a cascade of system failures that would not have naturally occurred in such quick succession within just a few short months of their work. It is beyond a reasonable doubt that their poor work damaged my vehicle, cost me thousands of dollars, many hours, and a great deal of stress. I have made multiple attempts to reach out to the service manager, *****, at Folsom Chevrolet and resolve this issue. *************** working on my behalf, has done the same, being told by ***** that he has already talked with me and resolved this issue. This issue has not been resolved, and I have never once had my phone calls returned by ***** or anyone else at Folsom Chevrolet. I would like Folsom to refund me the entirety of the cost of my transmission replacement and service OR discontinue conducting business.Business Response

Though Folsom Chevrolet has empathy for the customer and the problems that they are having with their vehicle we do not accept responsibility. It is our understanding that they have had the vehicle inspected by another Chevrolet dealer and the problems they are having are mechanical wear and not due to any work performed by Folsom Chevrolet. If it can be shown that Folsom Chevrolet is responsible we would of course do the right thing.

I am rejecting this response because: This is a mischaracterization of what was discussed with the Boardwalk Chevrolet service department. While it is true that it is difficult - near impossible - to directly implicate Folsom Chevrolet, this is true of almost all vehicle repairs. Boardwalk Chevrolet stated as much, however commented that the timing of the power steering pump failure and differential failure were both unusual and very unlikely. And remember, following this event the NEW battery installed by Folsom failed and was found to be defective by AAA after barely 4 months, the the thermostat failed, and the starter failed.
I noticed that the previous response addresses none of these details, why is that?
Please provide a refund for the costs less the amount already reimbursed by *************** And speaking of GM, why has Folsom Chevrolet continually told GM that this issue has been resolved when it is ongoing and completely unaddressed by Folsom? This is the first Ive heard from any of you.
Business Response

Again, Folsom Chevrolet empathizes with the mechanical problems you are having with your vehicle. Your case should be made to Chevrolet for assistance and not Folsom Chevrolet. We have notified Chevrolet that we are not responsible and I believe they have closed the case. You can certainly reach out to them and readdress the issues. According to our records this was the only Repair Order we have on file for this vehicle. Therefore, we have none of your maintenance records or repair history. I would suggest that you reach out to your servicing dealer for assistance.

This past Saturday I took my car to get multiple services done that costed me over $700. As I'm leaving, my engine light came on. Took it back, they looked at it and got rid of the engine light. I drive off and the light turns on again. Can't take it back because they were closed. So I waited to take it in this morning (Monday), and they tell me it has nothing to do with the services they did and that is was pure coincidence that the engine light came on as I left. Mind you, I also had to pay $215, to get a diagnostic. I do NOT believe this, because my car was running just fine prior to me bringing it in. I think who ever serviced my car messed something up and isn't going to admit it. I'M 100% SURE THAT THEY MESSED UP MY CAR!!! To fix it, it's going to cost around $3K. The bare minimum is for them to reimburse me the money I recently spent (because my car is no longer safe to drive). Or for them to fix the issue without charge me for it, since it was their wrong doing.Initial Complaint

Car buyers, consider yourselves warned. This is the type of managers this company employs, and has running their staff: provided is a photo of a message from ******* never met, and do not know whatsoever, sending me private messages on LinkedIn calling me a racist and ranting about immigrants. Completely unprofessional, immature and harassing. Not sure where this guy got his information from, but hes clearly lost.
