I had subscribed to The Fresno Bee home delivery and Digital service. I allowed my subscription to lapse, and was not interested in renewing. They apparently kept sending the paper for, if I remember correctly, a couple of months. Someone representing The Bee then called and said because I had continued to receive the paper after the lapse of my subscription, I owe The Bee a debt of $66.60. I responded that I had not asked to receive the paper past the end of my subscription date and that I would not pay money for papers I had not asked for. In fact, the papers had stopped coming, so I assumed that they stopped when the subscription lapsed. The agent called back moments later and said she was authorized to lower my 'debt' to about $6, if I would renew my subscription. I told her that their tactics were appalling and that I would not renew. I just received a notice from a collections agency trying to collect a 'debt' of $66.60. The Bee's must immediately cease seeking this payment.

Thank you for your message to The Fresno Bee. Our records show your account started 12/31/20. The account expired on 4/1/21. Since the Bee does not stop subscriptions automatically, the paper continued on a grace period. Prior to the expiration date, the Bee sent out a renewal notice on 2/25/21 & a second renewal on 4/12/21. On all renewals, the Bee states the account will continue unless the Bee is notified otherwise. This is also in the terms of service when the subscription was ordered. As a one time courtesy, the balance has been cleared with the Bee and ARM Solutions.

Please note, ARM is a non-reporting collection company. This does not affect your credit and you will not see it on your credit report.

Please feel free to contact us at ###-###-#### or ***************@*********.com if you have any further questions or concerns.

      Thank you
