Solar Negotiators installed a solar panel system on May 9th, 2024. They failed inspection multiple times in between May 14th and July 25th, the date inspection was passed. For each inspection, someone needed to be present, which was highly inconvenient for myself and my family. Our furnace was not operating properly after installation which was highly likely due to the solar panel install but they arranged and paid for an HVAC tech to come and fix the issue, which took more than 2 months to complete after it was reported. Also, after installation, the solar system electric breakers consistently trip and shut off. A tech has returned multiple times to fix, each time claiming the issue is resolved but it still is not. The last date a tech came out was August 15th and they have not returned since. I informed them immediately that evening that the issue was not resolved. No response. I have attempted to contact them after that date but they either take a few days to respond or don't respond at all. The last response was "I let our construction team about this issue ***** I would like for them to finish the job or uninstall the system completely so we can move forward and/or go in another direction.

Solar negotiators has failed us as customers in more ways than one. From issues with the initial install back in *************************************************************************** the past. When we first got installed we were able to track our usage on a website (before the app). In 2022 we were contacted by them that our cellular monitoring device needed to be upgraded and it would cost close to $500 to do so. We were under the impression this was only stopping us from monitoring our system and they would still be able to track it. Our contract clearly states our cellular monitoring device is good for 5 years. We should not be expected to upgrade it less than 3 years later at our cost due to unforeseen circumstances. Last month I noticed on our PG&E bills that in March of this year our system completely stopped working. After research I found it stopped the very same day they came out to do their annual cleaning. When I brought this to their attention they were already quickly deflecting responsibility. Their service **** came out and found their breaker had failed and mentioned to us that it could have been an issue with the water mixed with a faulty breaker. I have nearly a $5000 true up due to our system being broke during the peak time of year we should be getting credits. This company claims they are not responsible for ANYTHING due to the cellular monitoring device not being upgraded after less than 3 years after install even though our contract states its good for 5! They claim its just a huge coincidence that their breaker failed the very same day they came out to do their annual cleaning. They state our system produced an hour after they left then stopped. What are the chances?!?! Manager took weeks to get a response from only to be told they will not be doing anything whatsoever to help cover the cost of their part failing!! There is so much more I wish I had the space to mention here. Stay away from this solar company at all costs!!

Our contract does specify that the data card is valid for five years.   However in this instance it was not a failure of the data card that caused this issue, it was the shutdown of the 3G network which was absolutely out of our control.  The quoted price for a data card was $295, which was offered exclusively to our customers affected by the 3G network shutdown. This price was set without profit, as our priority was to assist our customers.   We have communicated this information clearly to our clients through multiple recorded phone calls, multiple emails and have also sent a detailed letter explaining the situation, including the fact that without the data card upgrade, the system cannot be monitored and will fall out of warranty.  We have recently hardwired the communication system for this customer at no cost so we can monitor it's production.

Additionally, the contract clearly states that neither the contractor, its sales representatives, nor affiliated companies are responsible for any utility charges incurred. It is the client's responsibility to monitor their utility bills monthly and address any concerns promptly, rather than at the end of the 12-month true-up cycle, this acknowledgement was initialed by the customer.

Regarding the claim that panel cleaning caused the breaker to fail, this is not possible. The water used during cleaning is used only to the roof. If water had entered the main service panel, it would have affected more than just a single breaker, and the impact would have been immediate. Unfortunately, this was a coincidence.

      Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
We received only TWO calls between ********* regarding the cellular monitoring device. As mentioned previously, we were under the impression this meant tracking on our side was no longer possible without upgrading NOT yours. If that was understood, I would not have called in between then questioning if my system was working properly due to concerns of high true **** Which by the way, I was told YES it is working properly. Dont you think at that point someone should have mentioned you could not track our system to actually tell it was working properly or not?!
The second phone call we recently received in May, again, was NOT CLEAR! It sounded as if it was something that needed to be done in the near future. There was NO mention that you have not been able to track our system since 2022 and no mention that warranties would be voided without. A letter was never received. No emails. If a company is going to try and change what their contract states more than a single phone call should be made! A phone call does not void a contract. Our contract states the monitoring device was good for 5 years plain and simple. Any letter or extremely unclear phone call can not void that.
You stated that we initialed next to us tracking our system. We were never able to track our system so that clearly isnt applicable to our circumstance. We brought it to your attention as soon as we noticed our system was not working from the high bills.

Coincidental (which I doubt) or notYOUR part broke. A company that stands by their customers and their CONTRACT would reimburse for the time their system was down.

I will not accept that a single phone call made in 2022 overrides our signed contract!

I agreed to a Power Purchase Agreement (Long Term Loan) with Solar Negotiators due to the fact that their salesman as well as their PTO (Permission To Operate) closing meeting with a separate employee to finalize contract told me that all equipment (Batteries, inverter, solar panels) were under Warrenty for the life of the 25 year loan. After I was locked into my loan I was notified that my equipment was not covered for the life of the loan. I would not have went with this company if I were told the truth.

10/9/23 there has been faild communication with install when it would be completed. At first I was estimated in September. The panels were set on a Monday in October and a manger named **** said the Friday the upcoming the project would be finished and inspection would be set. I contacted **** through text who stated it would not happen and would not give a date or time when it would be completed. Ive invested $30k and should be able to get the project installed questions answered instead of ignored or hung up on. On 10/10/23 I callled and requested a call from a manager and was told a **** would give me a call. I asked for a time frame on when I would be called back and was told Ill tell her, I asked again to ask **** to which she continued to say bye and Ill tell her and was hung up on. There has been a problem from the start with the sales rep getting info and not completing the job.

Last year and now this year, solar negotiators said there was a report my solar panels were cleaned, they were not cleaned last year and this year, I have a big dog and the gate is locked, I told them call me when they come, they said they came, I work at home and no one has come at any time to clean my solar panels. Anyone can take a picture the first time and use it every year and say they were cleaned, you can look at the panels and see they have not been done in the 2 years. I request my solar panels be cleaned as promised, from the picture I took, you can see, they look white, that is the build up of dirt.

I have spoken with Mrs. ***** and we will be going out to reclean her panels.  We do provide a customer service report with before and after photos to every customer when we preform a service for them.  Our employees failed to call Mrs. ***** on their way to her home, (which is our standard protocol) so she was not aware that they were there.  My team will definitely be calling her prior to their arrival this time.  When we got off of the phone she was happy with this outcome.

Had multiple leaks in a brand new roof, discovered that multiple holes were drilled and never fixed. Two and a half years later still having leaks, nobody can find the problem. Blames everything on pigeons. Bedroom ceiling still cracking and falling apart due to shoddy repair work. Solar panel hasn't been working for 6 months. Extremely difficult to get a return phone call, I've been calling for over 3 months. Nobody can give me any answers. I have a 3 page review with many details that I would love to send.

Apologies for the late response, I must have overlooked your email.  This customer did have roof leaks in December of 2021.  We did repair the leaks within 3 days of the client calling.  We also identified an ac duct that was not properly sealed which was causing a leak.  We also did drywall repair caused by this leak.  We have no records of this customer calling our office for the last year.  We will reach out to her tomorrow as today is a holiday.

Solar negotiators installed solar panels on my roof middle of November 2022, I noticed a leak in a bedroom which created mold and other water damage. Solar company came out and said it’s not there leak. To call my home owner’s insurance so I did. They denied the (travelers) and said the leak has been going on for over a month or longer. I have been trying to get a hold of Solar negotiator to speak to someone. The representative *** was very fast at getting me answer to any concerns I have. She will not return my call nor the manager ***** that I have texted and left emails. When solar company came out to inspect leak they said one of the tiles was misplaced and they said they fixed the leak and wouldn’t fix the water damage in the room. I asked them why would you fix the problem if you weren’t responsible for the leak? All they technicians said call there manager. It seems fishy to me all of a sudden know ones is calling or trying to take responsibility for this leak. I have never had any leaks or claims for a roof leak or water damage. I have bought this house in 2008 and I can show proof no issues or claims filed. I need your help to get this issue resolved. Also I have a one year warranty when they installed panels for any damages they also broke tiles on my roof and had to come back to fix them when my son noticed broken tiles while putting up Christmas light.

In November of 2025 I purchased a solar system from Solar Negotiators. That system is under warranty until 2025 with Solar Maintenance Pros as the contracted maintenance provider. That system is currently not working. On 2/1/23 a technician from Solar Maintenance Pros came and inspected the system. She left stating that someone would be following up. On 2/6/2023 I had not heard from anyone and called the office. After that call I received a technician report that stated more follow up was required. On 2/8/2023 I contacted Solar Maintenance Pros to gain information on the follow up. I did not receive a call back. I called again on 2/14 and did not receive a call back. On 2/17 I spoke to ***** who stated that she would speak to the scheduler who would reach out to me. I did not receive a call back. On 2/21 I called Solar Maintenance Pros and spoke to ********. She took my name and number and said that she would pass my message along. No one called me back. On 2/22 I received a call from ****** to schedule maintenance and it was scheduled for 3/1. On 3/1 I received a call from ****** stating that the needed parts were not in and that they would need to reschedule. The appointment was rescheduled for 3/10. I received a call on 3/10 stating that they would need to reschedule due to rain and the appointment was rescheduled for 3/18. 3/18 no one from Solar Maintenance Pros arrived to perform the scheduled maintenance or repairs and no one called to reschedule. On the morning of Monday, 3/20 I called Solar Maintenance Pros and spoke to *****. ***** stated that the appointment on 3/18 was with a supervisor who was currently on leave. ***** stated that she would speak to scheduling and call me back. I did not receive a call back. At this time I am seeking reimbursement for the cost paid for the non functioning system based on Breach of Contract and refusal to honor the warranty and maintenance contract.

I spoke with Ms. ***** this afternoon and gave her a complete update on what is going on with her system along with a very sincere apology for the lack of communication.  Her inverter has been down since 1/29/23, our first tech visit was on 2/1/23.  Our technician spoke to the Technical Support department of the inverter manufacturer and was told that we would have to replace part of the inverter.  This should have been communicated with Ms. ***** but unfortunately it was not.  Once we did receive the part from the manufacturer we went out and replaced it but it did not fix the issue so the manufacturer RMA'd the inverter and we are currently waiting for the replacement to arrive.  Once the new inverter arrives it will be installed within 24 hours of receipt.  I also let Ms. ***** know that we would cover her utility bill for the time that the inverter is down when she receives her true-up statement.  After our conversation Ms. ***** was appreciative of the phone call and happy with the resolution.
