    On the morning of 7/29/24 my roommate and I realized the internet cable line coming into our house had been downed by a branch overnight and was now draping across both of our cars. I messaged back and forth with cox support and they said the earliest someone could come out to look at the problem and fix it would be the morning of 7/31/24. When I reiterated that it was inhibiting our ability to go to work, they said they were sorry, but it would still be two days before a technician could come out. I called their support line thinking that maybe the situation hadn’t fully come through in text form. I explained the situation to the support person on the phone and they said the same thing, two days until someone could come out. I asked if I could prop the line up myself in order to be able to move the cars, but the service representative stated that they did not advise that because it might be unsafe. I asked them why it was not a priority if they thought it was an unsafe situation and I couldn’t get a straight answer besides they were sorry, but two days is the fastest they can come out. So now I still have a line down across multiple cars, an advisement not to move the line as it might be unsafe, and the inability to get my car and my roomate’s car out of the driveway.

    My elderly mother lives in Santa Barbara Ca. She is a long time customer of Cox as her cable provider and never had a problem with them until the last 18 months. Cox went from mailing a bill to sending through an email address. My mother does not have an email and is not computer literate. Her cable was turned off so she called. For the last 18 months different members of the family ( we live out of state) had tried helping and we get different quotes from different employees and managers at Cox. We have been in the store and get the same run around. My mother qualifies for low income and ACP discounts- they never apply. Finally my mother gets a basic cable rate of $ 90.00 dollars a month. In August she mailed a bank cashiers check. There is still a problem so another call (which is like number 20 calls to them over 18 months) the women tells my mom to get another bank cashiers check and take to the -non helpful employees at -Santa Barbara Store. My elderly mother does not drive so she is on the bus again going to the bank and SB Cox Store. She leaves the payment with them and after she gets home there is a message on her answering machine “we don’t take bank cashiers checks”. Yes my mothers cable is off again. Cox Communications needs customer service training.
