I've been paying $810 every month for around 2-1/2 years. first they told me 2 years and now it was extended doe another year. i was told by a mortgage broker that this company is a fraud and my credit report is not reflecting the payoffs like they told me. i just want my money back. I signed a contract to consolidate debt with Golden Law LLP on 4/9/2020. There was a large stack of papers, maybe 90 or so pages, that a notary brought to my house to sign. My agreement was to take over credit card debt and I pay a monthly fee and they negotiate my debt. I was told my payment would be $457 for 48 months and it would be direct withdraw from my checking account. I then paid 1 credit card, **** of America, off myself before my first withdraw and it was taken off my contract. I NEVER received the overnight copy of the 90 or so pages that I signed. After I took the **** of America card off the contract, ************ were $441.76 a month for 42 months. I am now due to pay in complete on November 17, 2023. According to my records, and the records I have attached, I should owe $2208.80. I want to pay that in FULL right now to pay up to my contract date of November 17, 2023, which they acknowledged on the attachments is my final payment and no other funds will come out of my checking account after that date. Now, they are telling me I need to pay ANOTHER $4200 to pay of ****** which was a card that was clearly stated in my contract that they would pay with my funds. To date I have paid $15,903.36. This company is a SCAM! They make you feel like at the end of your term that you will be debt free only to have them tell you that you owe more money. Well, at least I have paid for the last 36 months, on time, every month! Now, I have stopped payment on all future withdraws and will NOT pay them another *****. SCAM!!!!!!!Business response

I start working with this company in September 6, 2019. I enrolled 10 account. I paid 380.05 for 30 months. My debts was 14,168.00. The total that I had to pay Golden Law is 11,401.62 to pay my debts off and their fees. They scam people out of their money. I have paid them 13,301.75 so far they paid only 3 account total 1,362.17 and the first three payment went towards 950.00 for their program. I asked them where the 10,989.58. They can't show me where my money went they to me to look in my account at global holding it show where the money go but it don't. After talking to some one global holding they told me they don't know where the money go the give it to Golden law when the request it they don't have our debts information. They don't understand why Golden Law keep lying to their customers. So the lady at Global Holding close my account and agree to it. I talked to someone at Golden Law to asked them to stop taking money out of my account and I want to cancel the program and I want the 10,989.58 the lady laughed at me and told me they will not never give me the 10,989.58 dollars back because that their cost for the program. They sent me the paper to closed the cast with the 6 remaining account on it that I still owed. I settle one of the account myself in the beginning.Business response

I approached this business to help me negotiate the above attached debts. I have been in line the the payments upto date. Upon now close to reaching the completion of the program they are now changing saying I need to extend the program for 23 more months.. or to raise****** more or exit the program at this point. I have spent so much and they have not resolved all of my debts... they won't refund me the balance at least to allow me to finish paying my debts. If they told me this program was gonna cost more than my debts before signing with them I would never have signed with them.. the fact that they are telling me this was just an estimate, concludes that they deceived me from the get go knowing they can't perform the job they signed me for at that cost. I trusted them and they betrayed me like this. The options they are now providing me are not financially feasible. Now my credit went down for now. I should have never picked their phone call...Business response

WOW, what a money grabbing organization. I started with Golden Law LLP in November of 2020 and they stated 32 months at 646.19 a month. Now they want another 19 months. Other than that I can either give them 12,000.00 now or another 1,000.00 a month for 12 months. By the time they get done with me I've paid over 5,000.00 more than what I owed to start with. I decided to go bankrupt on the last of the debts I owe (they settled the other 3) but I still will owe about 3 months payments for the last debt. All my calculations prove it should be about 3 more payments but they say it should be 4 which in the long run they will get another 700.00 from me for themselves. Out of 646.19 they get over 105.00 for fees not counting the over 8,000.00 for fees and services out of the almost 15,000.00 I've already paid. I have everything on paper so I know what I've paid and what they have charged. DON'T GET INVOLVED IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. What a mess. They give you an estimate and you sign what seems like a hundred pages. But, they don't give you a copy of what you signed. They use that against you later. Then you show them the tell you to just sign the document and move on. Even if it is a email you can tell the rudeness/contempt in the person who sent it.Business response

I started using Golden Law September 23rd 2021 giving them $333.04 to begin settling 3 debts. I added 2 debts in October an started paying $377.83. I removed 2 debts going back down to $333.04 earlier this year. I was told the money was being saved in an external account to be used towards paying off my debts once they had reached delinquency. It has since been a year and no work has been done. When asked for a breakdown of their fees they became offensive and refused to show proof of their work. Asked for a full refund of the money since they can't prove any work was done and was put on wait to speak with a manager whom I still have yet to hear from.Business response

I started in a program for debt recovery in November 2019 the contract was for 36 months at $379 a month now a month before the programs over they're contacting me to tell me they need to extend the program 31 more months at $379 This is not due to me not making my payments this is due to their negligence and settling on my debts where they have taken approximately $250 a month in fees because they were supposed to be settling and working on my deck problem I strongly feel I was ripped off and they gave us false hope and informationBusiness response

I contracted with this business to resolve approximately *** of debt in 10/2022. The agreed pricing was initially $346 per month for 3 years, this pricing was changed about 1 year into the contract to $421 for 18 months, then back to $346 for the duration of the program. To date, they have settled quite a few a my debts. But along the way they have taken over $*** in fees for themselves and Global Solutions, the escrow account provider. Yesterday I got an email telling me that at least 2 of my debts will not be paid, one loan which is over $**. I spoke to a very nice young lady today, who verbally gave me the settlement amounts, not sure why she would not provide a print out. She did send me a print out of all of my accounts, but no numbers. The attached statement covers the entire program to date. As you can see, most of the lines are fees of some sort. I am appalled at the amount of fees that were disbursed to themselves. I was also sent an authorization to remove two accounts, because they would not be paid, there is no more money and my program ends 9/18/2022. After three years and over $*** of payments to them they will not honor the commitment to resolve my debt. The first 18 months of the program, they paid no debt but disbursed over $** fees, and thereafter at least $86 per month to themselves. I asked her if they would assist in settling the last two debtors and I will pay the monthly payments, and she said no, they do not do that. I am appalled, they are not really helping consumers, but rather helping themselves to the consumers money. I want them to find a way to make me whole, and help me pay these last 2 creditors, since they have taken my money for the last 3 years. I am not pleased at all and although the service rep was nice, she was not helpful with my complaints about the program. I need assistance now. The largest creditor was not paid, I would like a negotiated settlement with these 2 creditors as agreed. Thank you.Business response

I hired Golden Law to settle 3 credit card debts by negotiating with my creditors to reach settlements with each account. They set me up on a payment plan whereby I had to pay $374.95 per month for 36 months. I was told to complete the payments and everything would be taken care of. Over that time period I never missed a payment. On the 34th month I received an email stating that I needed to continue the "program" for another two years or wire them a lump sum payment of $******** for them to begin negotiations with the final account. So at that moment I closed my "reserve account" and submitted a very reasonable request that I be refunded the amount of fees I paid from the time of the last negotiated debt to the time I closed the account. I think this is more than fair, due to the fact that they continued to collect fees from me while having no intention of resolving the last credit card debt. I will accept the fact that I was scammed out of the money that I paid in fees. But they knew what they were doing when they quietly took my money only to demand more money in the end. I have emailed Golden Law with my request for a partial refund in the amount of $***** but have not received any response. I have called and left messages to discuss my account and have never received a return call. It's obvious these people prey on people like me who are in need of assistance. I paid them a total of $******. And I still have one account left outstanding.Business response
