I purchased a used car (2019 **** Fusion) from Huntington Beach Hyundai on 6 Oct 2022. Dealer required I purchase aftermarket *** tracker ($1000) along with vehicle VIN etching and paint protection as part of the final sales price. I sold my car to my parents in ******* at end of May ***************************************************************************************************************************** ****** who would not touch car or smog it because the aftermarket *** *** tracker was attached to the ****2 connector and wiring system was pushed into the dash. **** told my parents they would need to replace the *** assembly box and reinstall wires for cost of $200 before doing the smog test. Huntington Beach Hyundai Managers have refused to call me back stating there is no issue while I can't find a smog center to certify the car. The one sales person, *******, said there should be no issue, but said he'd pass issue to managers, who have not called back though I have left multiple messages. I called Tucson Hyundai and they refused to even look at car because its a ****, though it was purchased from a CA Hyundai dealer. I'm seeking reimbursement for the repairs and didn't even want the *** tracker but was required to purchase unit. This practice must be illegal if you're attaching an unwanted *** tracker to an smog *** connection that prevents legally mandated smoging of car or possibly damages the wiring components. Seeking refund of the *** tracker that **** will have to remove from vehicle to smog car and cost of repair which is $200.
