It has been about a month now that Im trying to get my down payment refund from LA city cars. I intended to purchase 2021 ***** Bolt EV value at 16k. After running my credit the dealership were able to find a lender for me which I had to put 2k as down payment. The first week I paid a 1k then the week after when I got there to pay the remain the salesman let me know that the lender wouldnt qualify me for that 2021 ***** that the lender will finance the 2016. But when I looked at the document I was qualify for 22k funding which was enough for the vhicule I initially wanted. So I asked the sale person; How am I qualify for 22k funding and you tell me that Im not qualify for the vhicule I want and I should get the 2016 and still make the payment as I got the 2021? And the 2016 ***** is not even worth 22k ?Then I decided to not complete the deal and they told me that they will refund my 2k witching 3 to 5 business day. It has been a month that Im still waiting. I call, email and text them and they ignore me. I just want my money.Initial Complaint

I was taken advantage of and sold a vehicle that was never registered correctly under my name and the dealership knew the vehicle was faulty and still sold the vehicle knowing it had these issues very misleading and not fair practices. Do not want to take vehicle back even though they know it is faulty.Initial Complaint

I recently purchased tesla model Y 2021 from La city cars at *************** location. While test driving, I noticed that cameras were not working so I asked representative who informed me that its just data connectivity issues and once I subscribe for premium connectivity from tesla they will start working. On the day of delivery, they again confirmed its just a matter of transferring ownership to my name and subscribing for premium connectivity. This was my first tesla so I just trusted what they were saying. I came to know later that it was a lie since cameras didnt work even after I transferred ownership. When I reported this to dealership, they just said its just camera calibration issue and I need to bring it to service center where they would fix it, so I went to their service center multiple times where they eventually informed me that they have identified that cameras are actually not working and they need to be fixed by *****. They said they will call ***** on my behalf and get it fixed. They informed that they would call me once they are done contacting ***** for the issue. However, I never got the call back and whenever I called it would go unanswered. They obviously knew what was the issue before selling and lied just to sell the car. The sad part is the reason I trusted that everything is fine with the car because the finance ******* told us that he was in army and integrity is very important for him. He said he personally checked and made sure that everything is fine with the car. I understand that this dealership doesnt provide warranty and any future issues are owners responsibility but they the issue is that they intentionally lied about the existing issue.Initial Complaint

On 5/25/2024, my husband and I drove to the *************** location to view a Fisker. Upon arriving, we saw several Fisker on the showroom floor. We were interested in a Black 2023 Fisker Ocean, extreme. The label on the vehicle read more than $68,000, knowing that this was incorrect, as the Fisker website itself states that the vehicles are no more than $37,000. We waited over an hour for a sales person to assist us, and get the pricing of said vehicle. When finally given the price, they quoted the price to be $500 to $700 more than what was listed on the Fisker website. When asked about it, we were told that the price on the Fisker website was incorrect, even though they claim to be the West Covina Fisker dealership . Prior to test driving the vehicle they wanted us to run a credit application. I explained to them that I had my own approval from NMAC and Nav Fed and did not need their finance, but was still told and asked for a credit application. When I declined, stating that I am very cautious about allowing anyone to run my credit because it allows for a hard credit inquiry, the sales person stated it doesnt unless you actually buy a vehicle. My husband worked for Experian more than 25 years, knew that this was false and incorrect information and at that time we left the dealership. I highly caution people stay away from this type of predatory practice, and will be reporting them to the **** in addition to hear at the BBB. Additionally, they are currently running an advertisement on the radio and social media about no money down needed until the last day of May yet kept asking all how much we were looking to it down, even on the used cars we inquired about. Why advertise that and then bait and switch when people come in and ask for money down. That make no sense.Business Response

After reviewing the transaction with the our consumer and staff, We apologize for our inability to explain the pricing of the vehicle correctly to you. As we have talked on the phone, the pricing was a little confusing for us as we just became a FISKER Dealer but that should not have impacacted your experience. My offer to expidite your experience if you return will stand, We have all been fully trained on the FACTORY REBATE that takes $20000 off the Price of the vehicle. My staff is now prepared to assist you and others who come. Sorry for that experience

I purchased a used car from LA City Cars on January 28, 2024. There was body work to be done on the hood of the car that was to be repaired plus a separate area that needed paint. I have been trying to get the work done but to date, nothing has been done. I was initially told that they were behind in scheduling and that someone would call and schedule me to bring it in for repair but no one called. When I have called, I would be transferred to another extension, or there was no answer or no return call to messages I've left. Further, I'd like verification that Lojack has been installed and that Cilajet has been applied.Business Response
Date: 06/20/2024
We have contacted both CILA JET and Lojack to verifiy the the items are working and have been activated and are working ok.
As for the bodywork, we have reviewed the file completely and the paperwork that was signed at the time of sale denotes that there was "nothing owed" to you during the sale transaction. I understand you have a handwritten paper that states the repairs you seek. We would need the car to goto our ************** to view the damage and we would be happy to assist in the repair of the vehicle.

I am rejecting this response because: The repairs listed within the " We Owe ..." document was to be included within the $24,000 that I paid for the car. The previous manager agreed via BBB to make repairs but did not follow through. If I am to meet with someone at the dealership, I request specifics - name, title, date and appointment time.
Sincerely,

we have reviewed this again with our staff. We wish to try to resolve this in a matter that satisfies the concern you have. Unfortunately you do not have the necessary paperwork so any goodwill consideration or reduction in cost to repair must be done at the service area. The agreement you made at the time of sale clearly is signed that you took delivery of the vehicle in the condition it was in. You signed all the documents stating this at the time of delivery.

I recently purchased a used 2020 Tesla Model Y from their dealership in *********, ** (their phone number is ************). I have said several negative experiences with the dealership since then and major, costly problems with the car since I purchased it nearly a month ago. Despite being given several assurances by multiple staff members that the cars were inspected, in good condition, and safe to drive, I ran into my first issue. The dealership sold me a car with wheel locks on it without telling me and without giving me any sort of way to remove the wheels at all. I called the dealership and they were no help. I had to go to three different tire shops before I was able to get the tires off and replace them with different tires. The second issue was that, despite the fact that the tires I replaced were mostly new (the Tesla has footage of the previous owner installing them some time around December of last year), they had already seen major, uneven tread ware. I took it to ***** to get inspected where the told me that the car was likely in an accident and it was not reported. As well as the fact that the car has severe damage to the sub frame and other issues that compromise the safety and functionality of the car and quoted me $3,611.00 to get it repaired. I essentially can't drive the car without causing major. uneven, premature wear to my tires and potentially putting myself in danger.I have only had this car for around a month and I haven't been in any accidents or bumpy roads or hit pot holes or anything that would cause any sort of damage. The car was sold to me in this condition and I was most likely lied to of its condition. I have also tried calling the dealership multiple times about this issue and have been told several times that somebody would get back to me about this issue but so far nobody has. All I want is for the repairs to be covered by the dealership considering the car was sold to me in this condition under false pretenses.Business Response

We have pulled the intial inspection report for the vehicle prior to the sale and found the vehicle in working order prior to the delivery of the vehicle.
The dealership that the vehicle was at has made recommendations of maintenance items as well as the Damaged Rear Sub Frame.
We will be happy to assist in mitigating the cost by having the car return to our Service Facility for a diagnosis of the concern of the Subframe.
There is physical damage to the component according to your report from TESLA,
If you would like to return to us to see how we can assist you in the repair costs we are glad to see what can be arranged.
spoke to customer and are awaiting the customer to bring the car in for service

This place is a total scam!!! Stay away!My recent experience at LA City Cars was a nightmare of deceitful tactics and hidden fees. Upon arrival, I was told by the manager, ****** "**" *******, that the car I came for was sold right before I got there, even after calling to confirm multiple times beforehand. They then tried to put me in a more expensive car - a classic bait-and-switch tactic. The replacement vehicle was covered with dents and the interior stained - all undisclosed accident damage and cosmetic flaws not shown online. They employed high-pressure sales tactics the entire time I was there, trying to pressure me into buying impulsively by claiming someone at the other location was interested in buying the same car, but that they would let me purchase it if I was willing to buy it then and there. After going back and forth for a while we finally agreed on a $25k sales price plus taxes and fees. When they ****** out the invoice for me to sign, they hadn't disclosed that their "fees" were roughly $5,000 for "optional" extras like Lojack and CilaJet, claiming they couldn't be removed. They shared that they significantly decrease the cost of their used Teslas to qualify for the federal tax rebate, and then make up the difference by charging exorbitant fees on other items, a borderline illegal and downright shady practice. My entire Saturday was wasted at LA City Cars and left me feeling utterly taken advantage of. LA City Cars clearly prioritizes profit over integrity, and I have a strong suspicion that all of their positive reviews are paid. I urge caution to anyone considering LA City Cars to avoid them at all costs.Business Response
