I went online to find out the value of my girlfriends vehicle and upon filling out the information I put my phone number and I was aware that dealers would call me asking if I would like to trade the vehicle for a new one. The issue is after I did this I began getting spam call over 3-5 a day. And this issue came almost immediately after going on their website, I never give my number out to random websites but I thought Kelley Blue Book was a legitimate site and is very well known. This has brought a inconvenience in my life and I block every number that calls but they change daily numerous times. There is no other point from the time frame that my phone number was given out.Business Response

I wish to file a formal complaint against KBB buyer agent **************** for failing to uphold her fiduciary duties and breaching our co-assignment contract.1. Regarding the sale of a 2021 ************* on 2/8/2024, I was assured a valid check for USD $66,250 by the following day. Instead, the check required an additional signature, delaying clearance by 12 days. Ms. ***** had verbally committed to expedite the clearance process but failed to follow through, attributing my concerns to frustration when challenged. This delay contrasts sharply with a previous transaction through Orange Coast CDJR, where funds were cleared within 24 hours. The discrepancy between the promised and actual service underscores a breach of fiduciary responsibility.2. Concerning the co-assignment for a 2021 Tesla Model 3, the agreement stipulated prompt updates on sales leads and pricing changes. As the contract neared expiration on 3/16/2024, Ms. ***** did not inform me of the sale's final status or the vehicle's condition, despite prior agreement. My attempt to obtain updates on 3/18/2024 went unanswered, demonstrating a neglect of agreed-upon communication obligations.3. Additionally, my personal information was compromised, leading to contact from scammers, directly linked to interactions with Ms. *****, as evidenced by attached text exchanges. This conduct not only undermines the trust inherent in our professional relationship but also violates the agreed terms and ethical standards expected of a KBB agent.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

On February 13, 2024 I visited KBB to see what my car was worth. Understandably, they ask you to enter your phone number and email address so "up to 3 dealers may contact you". I thought, okay great, that makes my life easier.I have received around 50 calls and just as many texts and emails. I highly recommend against entering your email/phone number on their website. The quote was well under market value as well.Business Response

Since November 2023 Kelley Blue Book has been telling me that I was unsubscribed, and yet, they keep sending me emails in the early morning and all through out the day! I'd like to keep from blocking them or marking them all as spam. They keep telling me that it's done but the emails keep showing up! This needs to stop. It's been months of me unsubscibing and the emails keep coming!Business Response

I tried the kelley blue book service online. It was not useful. Kelley Blue book sends many unwanted emails. I have tried unsubscribing via the button at the bottom of their emails. This button does not work. I am feeling harassed by the emails. I would not recommend this service. They are not a Better Business.Thank you.Business Response

KBB has sold my contact information to everyone on the planet. I'm getting so many calls a day that it's making my phone useless. I've already batted away the car dealers and blocked their numbers, but the scam and telemarketing is insane.Business Response

I submitted a request for a quote on my car at ***** Blue Book. They have since provided my information to dealerships in the area as I am sure it states in their company policy I signed. I have no problem with this. I got a first call this morning at 10:13 am from **** and explained that I am still in the early stages and am not ready to make a decision at this time. At 4 pm, I got a call from about her woman at a different dealership who was aware of who I spoke to and the notes saying I wanted to be left alone until I make further decisions. She was rude and said it was ok for her to ignore that request. I asked to be removed from the caller list. I got another call at 4:54 pm from ANOTHER man and he left a voicemail knowing that I did not want to be contacted and did it anyways. This is the definition of harassment because they deliberately chose to not listen to my request to not be called again at this time. I am seeking for *************** Book to respond and change their policy allowing affiliated employees that work for the dealership/in partner with *************** book to violate those simple requests to not be contacted. They can all see each others notes and have quoted me and the former associates. Its not as if they didnt know I was contacted or that I didnt want to be contacted any further. I am being harassed by affiliates of *************** book based on their employee policies, (I know its a policy from the 2nd conversation at 4 pm when the associate told me so).Business Response

We wanted to request an estimate value of our vehicle and we were asked for our phone number to get that information. We are now bombarded with calls constantly asking to trade in our vehicle. KBB gives your information to third parties just for information that used to be publicly available.Business Response

Thank you for contacting Autotrader via the BBB. When using KBB to ascertain a vehicle's value one of the steps asks if you would like dealer's to contact you regarding your vehicle. We ask for a name, email and phone to share with dealerships in your area. If you do not wish to have dealer's reach out to you about buying your vehicle, you can skip this step, and clickable hyperlink is available should you choose to not share your information.Initial Complaint

***** Blue Book values are no longer honest and reliable. They are coordinated with the car dealerships. It is a scam undervaluing owner's vehicles while the dealers turn around and sell them for2 to 3x the price with no work needed. Due to their dishonest business practice, I am unable to even sell my car privately as to a buyer who wanted to use a bank loan because the bank loan is also based on KBB. KBB is NOT fair to consumers, it is only helping the big business.Business Response

******,
Thank you for reaching out to Autotrader via the BBB. We see you listed VIN ***************** 11/11/23 with ****** miles for $14,500, and then subsequently reduced the price on this vehicle to ****** and then to 12,500. Our research reveals that this price is high compared to similar year makes and models listed in the past 3 months.
