I submitted a request for a quote on my car at ***** Blue Book. They have since provided my information to dealerships in the area as I am sure it states in their company policy I signed. I have no problem with this. I got a first call this morning at 10:13 am from **** and explained that I am still in the early stages and am not ready to make a decision at this time. At 4 pm, I got a call from about her woman at a different dealership who was aware of who I spoke to and the notes saying I wanted to be left alone until I make further decisions. She was rude and said it was ok for her to ignore that request. I asked to be removed from the caller list. I got another call at 4:54 pm from ANOTHER man and he left a voicemail knowing that I did not want to be contacted and did it anyways. This is the definition of harassment because they deliberately chose to not listen to my request to not be called again at this time. I am seeking for *************** Book to respond and change their policy allowing affiliated employees that work for the dealership/in partner with *************** book to violate those simple requests to not be contacted. They can all see each others notes and have quoted me and the former associates. Its not as if they didnt know I was contacted or that I didnt want to be contacted any further. I am being harassed by affiliates of *************** book based on their employee policies, (I know its a policy from the 2nd conversation at 4 pm when the associate told me so).

      Kaitlyn,

Thank you for contacting Autotrader via the BBB.  When you using the Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer to get quotes for your vehicle, you information is sent to various dealerships in your area immediately upon submitting your information.   This is stated in the terms and conditions of the program.   Here's the *** for those terms for you to review.

We wanted to request an estimate value of our vehicle and we were asked for our phone number to get that information. We are now bombarded with calls constantly asking to trade in our vehicle. KBB gives your information to third parties just for information that used to be publicly available.

Thank you for contacting Autotrader via the BBB.  When using KBB to ascertain a vehicle's value one of the steps asks if you would like dealer's to contact you regarding your vehicle.  We ask for a name, email and phone to share with dealerships in your area.  If you do not wish to have dealer's reach out to you about buying your vehicle, you can skip this step, and clickable hyperlink is available should you choose to not share your information.

***** Blue Book values are no longer honest and reliable. They are coordinated with the car dealerships. It is a scam undervaluing owner's vehicles while the dealers turn around and sell them for2 to 3x the price with no work needed. Due to their dishonest business practice, I am unable to even sell my car privately as to a buyer who wanted to use a bank loan because the bank loan is also based on KBB. KBB is NOT fair to consumers, it is only helping the big business.

      ******,

Thank you for reaching out to Autotrader via the BBB.  We see you listed VIN ***************** 11/11/23 with ****** miles for $14,500, and then subsequently reduced the price on this vehicle to ****** and then to 12,500.   Our research reveals that this price is high compared to similar year makes and models listed in the past 3 months.

On or around October 17th, I accessed the Kelley Blue Book website to get a value for my vehicle. Instantly after and often since, I have been bombarded with unwanted calls regarding local dealers offering to buy my vehicle. I just wanted a value for my vehicle and did not agree to send my information out.

Kelley blue book sold my information and will not stop calling me. They do not provide a way to opt out of this nonsense and I am on a do not call list. This behavior is unacceptable.

I am researching the purchase of a new vehicle. When I use ***** Blue Book link though the dealer websites, I get a consistently less value than when I do it directly though the *** website. I use the same information and look up using the *** number of my vehicle. This makes it look like major fraud and that *** may be working with dealers to scam people out of thousands of dollars. I have screen shots of the different values. This should be against the law.

Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer program is a scam. I received an ICO from KBB which the dealer did not comply with. I was told I could file a complaint which I did. I called KBB multiple times and was told my case was being reviewed by the corporate office. After weeks with no resolution I called again. KBB told me there was nothing they could do. If the dealership is not help accountable by KBB there is no point in them having an Instant *******************

      ********,

Thank you for reporting an issue with ***************** to ***.  We have researched your case and found the dealer made an offer to purchase the vehicle, that offer was accepted and a vehicle was traded into a dealer.  Our research found the dealer was within the guidelines of the *** Instant Cash Offer Program and the offer made to the seller of this vehicle was accepted by the seller as well.

Here's the direct URL to those terms and conditions.

***** Blue Book claims on their website that you get a Cash Offer code that a dealership will honor unless the information submitted is inaccurate. If the dealer finds something inaccurate, they should provide a side by side comparison of the vehicle reviews. When i showed up to the dealership, i received a an offer for approx $2,000 less. There was also no comparison shown. When i *********************** Blue Book about the issue, the representative stated that the dealership can do their thing and try to negotiate the price. Thats not what the website leads to believe and is misleading.

I used KBB to estimate my cars value using milage and condition. they stated the trade in value to be $25.593 to $28,160. So I used their offer based on the information they stated it would be for a trade in. Then they decreased the value to $22,600 because it is revenue for them to be so dishonest in how they create these pricing models. Now I have to endure dealers emailing, calling and sending texts because of KBBs dishonesty. I will never trust KBB again over how dishonest their actions have become. This was once a great company and now it has been tarnished with dishonesty.

This company put a collection charge on my credit simply because I had the same name as the person with the debt. These debt collectors dont even have a ssn to verify. They are ruining ************** and doing it without hard facts. They dont even have clients DOB. Its ridiculous and they need to be shut down. From the looks of it they have a ton of complaints. And 0 good reviews. I want an apology and a credit from them.
