This company is a scam. I signed up on 1/2/25 and obviously in a desperate position when doing so. I put four accounts in the repayment program, they quickly settled one because it makes it "harder" to cancel the program because they show you a glimpse of what it could be if you get an account into forgiveness status. They do not contact you after initially setting you up to fail, even if your account gets a new repayment amount, the amount reported to the credit bureau if the original FULL amount. I have contacted a lawyer and in the process of getting all of my accounts taken out of this program. This severely impacted my credit score (I did know about that) but they said that they will be able to settle the accounts, they did not reach out to the accounts that need to be settled, they actually asked me to deposit more money into my account which I will not do. I paid 635 a month the settled amount is 250, they took a settlement fee even though they insisted that they will not charge a fee until the amount is completely settled. Why are they taking a fee and it is not settled comoletely. This is a scam in all senses of the word, luckily I do have a close fmaily memeber who is willing to represent me and take this company to court if need be. My account needs to formally canceled ****.

Regarding fees, as outlined in our signed agreement, our service fee for settling your debt is applied after a settlement has been secured, approved by you, and the first payment toward it has been made.
Its also important to keep in mind that while we dont manage credit reporting, creditors have up to 90 days to report to the credit bureau once the settlement has been paid.
While adding funds can accelerate results, its never required. We remain committed to working within the pace of your program to pursue additional settlements over time.
Your cancellation is currently being processed, and our management team will be reaching out to you soon to address any remaining concerns.

Do not use this company to help you! I signed a contract with them hoping to consolidate my finances to improve my credit score as well as my financial situation. In the contract it states that it could take UP TO six months for them to negotiate with my creditors. I have called several times to find out what's going on. I log on to my portal and see that NOTHING has even begun and it's been MORE THAN SIX MONTHS! My credit score is sinking and I've been very patient. Working with this company has only made things worse! I spoke with someone and they said that they are still waiting to contact my creditors (one specifically) in order to negotiate. Funny because I have received offers from this particular creditor asking to negotiate WITH ME! And this was a few months ago! I have paid Alleviate over $2,000 and NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE AT ALL!!!!!! It's a complete joke and no one, and I mean no one, has ever contacted me - it's always me calling them and they give me the same runaround answer each time. It's disgusting how these companies take advantage of people like me just trying to improve their financial situation. I am now having to find an attorney just to get out of this contract and get my money back so I can move on with my life. I lose sleep every day thinking about this and every time my phone rings from one of the three creditors calling - or even sending numerous emails saying I'm in default! I have been paying since October 2022, and I completed my payment schedule for one lender. At first, I was called monthly for my check in. As the months went by I was hearing from someone every three months or so, or more when I was the one who called with a question. I was informed for the first time today that I owe another $4,000 even though I removed an account from my program and am paying them directly. I spoke with someone on March 31 to remove the program, which by the way was very difficult to do as they would not just do what I asked. Once this was done, I was under the impression that I had paid my entire amount as shown in the payment schedule. I paid just over $8,000. Now I am being told that I owe additional fees on top of this, and nowhere in my payment schedule was this reflected. I have now been charge almost $1,000 more that I didn't expect. I asked to speak with a manager to clear up the confusion. I'm continuing to have payments drafted and do not want this to continue. I received horrible customer service wherein I did not feel heard, respected, nor shown that I was going to have my funds refunded. I reviewed the contract and it does not accurately reflect what I was being told. I await a response from a manager to help understand why I'm being charged fees after my payments were complete. Alleviate Financial did not contact my creditors to inform them that they are representing **** made a deposit of $2,000 in Forth Financial, I was told that Alleviate fee was $1700 for reaching a #3,000 settlement with one of my creditors. They have requested that I fund my account with extra funds before they can reach any settlement with other creditors. As a performance-based company, our service fee is only applicable after a settlement has been secured, approved by you, and the first payment toward it has been made. In this case, the full-service fee amount was not charged due to your early cancellation.

I've read some reviews and it seems the unhappy ones are due to the customer failing to keep their account funded or not understanding how things work. So far they have settled with 2 of my creditors and are close to reaching a third soon. I had 6 accounts to settle. I've only been with them 6 months. So far I've detected no decent on their part. The staff I've spoken to are very friendly and knowledgeable. They explain everything clearly. The unhappy folks seem to not fully understand things or think alleviate is going to cover the cost if they don't fund their account as agreed. I set up automatic withdraws so they get the full funding on time every month. So far I'm very happy with the program.
