      I am a bit surprised by all the negative reviews and experiences insureds have posted. I received a flyer in the mail with a premium $1,000 lower than current carrier. I did the quote online and secured coverage ****. My mortgage paid the premium on time. I received my renewal offer those month in mail and it only increased by $29. Everything has been easy and smooth. I haven't had any claims so can't provide insight into that.

      Veterans of ***************** 1829. File roof claim and received a check for $3.7K and an expectation to replace the roof. Initial quote for roof replacement is $22K but after deductible $7500 and penalty fees we get $3.7K. I'm told they are the only option for insurance for non-profit with liquor licenses, so you monopolize the market place to rip off Veterans. Sounds like the free market place that us Veterans served to protect to allow this and only to get treated like bottom dwellers. I hope all the ***************** sees this and works to shut you guys down. Shame on your Corporate policies to s**** over veteran communities. Premiers are high, annual high dollar audits requested, you basically have VFW Posts eating out of your hands with your Corporate greed! Hope you all don't sleep well at night!

      Western Residence Mutual, a company with which I have been a loyal policyholder for over eight years. Unfortunately, my experience with your organization during this difficult time has been deeply troubling In September 2024, I filed a water damage claim for my home, which has since been deemed uninhabitable. From the outset, the handling of my claim has been unacceptable. I was forced to pay out of pocket for necessary expenses, with the understanding that I would be reimbursed. However, I have not received adequate compensation for these expenses. Instead, your team implemented an Additional Living Expense (ALE) budget that was never communicated or agreed upon. Despite this, I have been denied the reimbursement that was promised.Furthermore, I have repeatedly requested an extension of my ALE coverage, as my family is still unable to return to our home. These requests have been denied, leaving my family of five and our pets in an incredibly precarious situation. I feel that my concerns have been disregarded, and I have been treated unfairly throughout this process.I am particularly distressed by the lack of empathy and compassion shown by your company. This has been one of the most challenging periods of my life. I recently lost my great-grandmother on Christmas morning, and due to the financial strain caused by your company's refusal to reimburse my living expenses, I am unable to attend her funeral out of state. The ongoing financial burden of covering both household and living expenses, without the support I am entitled to under my policy, has been devastating.I also feel that I have been subjected to unfair treatment, and I am deeply concerned that my experience may have been influenced by bias. It is unacceptable that, after years of loyalty, I am being treated in this manner during a time of great need.

      I was a customer with this ********************** at least 16 years. I was not pleased with timely handling of my claim. I had to run down the person handling my claim to get information on an issue that happened 1 week prior. It seemed as if this company was working against me instead of helping me. *** never had a lapse in coverage and only filed one claim for my roof. Yeah their policy is cheaper, but they dont appear to be useful in my opinion . I found another insurer for my home.

      Based on the claim notes it looks like the claim was received, researched, and closed all within the required time limit, but I can understand how waiting to hear can be frustrating and we apologize for that. I believe part of the holdup was waiting on the third party roofing inspector, all of whom were very busy at the time due to the storms.

      They will drop you without notice and leave you scrambling. They never called, never mailed, emailed. Just dropped me and screwed their customers. DO NOT USE.

      I understand your frustration with the non-renewal and apologize we were unable to continue to offer you a policy. Our records show we mailed out a non-renewal notice to the property on 2/13/24, 90 days before the policy expiration.

      Where do I start. I started Residential Insurance when I purchased my home back in 2011. I was a loyal customer for 12 years and had never submitted a claim. My insurance would always renew automatically, since it was included with my mortgage. I left out of the state for business for a few months, only to find out when I returned that my policy had been canceled. It didn't get renewed due to poor communication between the mortgage lender and Western Mutual. When I called Residential Insurance, they informed me that renewal notices were sent, but I was away. I never received a phone call, nor email from the lender and insurance company, so how can I be held liable through the lack of communication. My mortgage lender said they would pay the policy immediately, since they could not get in contact with Western Mutual prior to the policy renewing, but they would not reinstate the policy, since it wasn't paid at renewal. I hope if you consider this company, you read the reviews on BBB and other sites, not just the positive feedback from their own website.

      The insured and the lender were both sent the renewal notices on 7/10/2023, and the lender copy included the invoice. The effective date of the renewal was 8/31/2023. The lender was sent a second invoice on 8/17/2023, but the policy was not paid. As a courtesy, on 10/2/2023 we sent the insured a letter advising him that his lender had not paid the premium and asking him to confirm his lenders information, and advising that we would give him another 30 days, or by 11/2/2023, to make payment and avoid cancellation. We did not hear from the insured or his lender, so on 10/18/2023, we sent a Notice of Cancellation advising that if the payment was not made by 11/2/2023, the policy would be cancelled. We finally heard from the insured on 12/26/2023, but as the payment deadline including two months grace ****** had passed, unfortunately we were unable to reinstate his policy.

      Terrible company, should be shut down. Bought a used machine through a dealer and paid to transfer the warranty with 3 years remaining. Was sent an email to provide documentation, everything requested was provided. 8 months later tryed to use ghe warranty and was told the transfer was denyed with no explenation/ follow up call or email.

      My fridge had a water leak that messed up the drywall behind it, when I filed the claim everything went smooth they recommended their own company for the repairs everything went great I paid the deductible and everything was fine. After receiving a letter from my mortgage company that I didnt have insurance I called Residence Mutual insurance and they told me they had dropped 3 years ago because I didnt provide proof of the repairs, they were the ones who sent an inspector and the ones that sent the contractor for the repairs.

      Unfortunately yes the policy was non-renewed effective 1/25/22 because in Jan 2021 we requested proof of repairs from a claim and it was never received. The non-renewal notice went out in October 2021 and the last payment received and processed for this policy was in January of 2021.

      Opened a claim 7/29/22 major flood damage upstairs toilet leak.Today is 12/26/23 and my house is still not to its original condition.This insurance company is the worst. They are not a fair company, they will do everything possible not pay the insurance compensation owed.I now have a structural engineer second looking damages that should have been addressed the first time around.Yes all of this was brought to there attention in the beginning. Western mutual could care less about you and your property.

      We covered and paid over $200,000 dollars for this claim and show the work was completed in December 2022, with the insured signing off on the completed repairs at that time. Just this November almost a full year the insured reported there was additional repairs needed so we sent out an expert to inspect and are currently awaiting their report.

      The insurance company came to home for a roof claim. Contractor was there in 8/23 claim filed 8/23. There have been three a total of 5 emails and two letters in the mail compared to our dozens. They have provided written evidence of the damages in one of the email along with recorded statements on the roof with an independent adjuster who agreed that the roof had hail damage. It is almost December and they still want us to repair the damage and not replace the roof. They refuse to explain the reason via phone and their email only supports our statements. The roof has been sitting with shingles exposed, damaged, and likely worse that previously. ***** and ***** have been absolutely horrible with their professionalism and their lack of commitment to the fair practices that standard that governs western mutual. After a fourth inspection untold by anyone they then raised the claim $100. Its a horrible act as the policy is 7 years old. Then they sent out someone from the city to say the roof needs to be replaced. Ive never heard of that tactic bus seems to be a threat. Horrible horrible horrible.

      There was wind and hail damage to this roof. The wind damage was within the policy period and was covered and paid out. The hail damage was prior to when the policy started (by years), as shown by weather experts that can track when hail last hit the property location.
