I was contacted by Destination Print with an offer to try their toner. I was told that the toner would last longer than the toner we were currently using. I received the first two toners in the mail and decided to give them a try. I was told that we had up to a year to test them out. Shortly after receiving the toner, we got a bill. The price of the toner was much more than expected and the shipping cost was high as well. I decided to try out the toners because, if they lasted as long as promised, the cost could be justified. The first toner was defective. After numerous emails, I received a replacement. I had decided that I would pay for the toners I had ordered through the trial and be done since I was not ****** impressed with the toners received. We paid the invoice. A couple months later, I got a call from Destination Print, asking how the toner was working and asking if we would be interested in ordering more. I told them that our printer has stopped working and we were looking at purchasing a new one.A couple months later, I got a follow up call. I told them that we had still not replaced the printer and were not looking to purchase any toner. I was then transferred to someone else. She thanked me for my purchase and told me that I had earned a gift card.I thought the gift card was for participating in the trial offer, so I thanked her for it. Shortly after, I received a gift card in the mail.About a week later, a box arrives via ****** The return address was ********************** I opened the box to find six new toners and a drum unit that I did not order. After multiple calls and emails, I finally talk to the person who sent the order. She claims that I told her to send the toners. Why would I order toners for a printer that we no longer use? She was very hostile and claimed that I was lying. They intend to charge a restocking fee for us to return these. I did not order them, so why should I be expected to pay for them?

      Complaint: 20338845

I am rejecting this response because it is untrue.

I have received several phone calls from Destination Print.  They insist that I ordered the toner, which I did not.  I would not have ordered toner cartridges for a printer that I told them months ago had stopped working.  They acknowledge that there was a conversation about the printer not working.  It makes no sense that I would order toner for a printer that is no longer in use. I have told them that every time we have discussed this over the phone.  Their response is, "I don't know why you ordered toner for a printer that doesn't work, but you did.  I have been in this business for a number of years and would not just place an order without authorization."  When I reiterate that it makes no sense to order toner for a printer that is no longer in service, the representative gets hostile and accuses me of calling her a liar.

Destination Print has offered to return the toner cartridges if I paid a restocking fee.  I don't feel I should be charged their exorbitant restocking fee for something that I did not order.  I had been told that they had been willing to work with me, but since I initiated a complaint with BBB, the only option they are now willing to give me is to return the product and pay the restocking fee.  In reality, they have never been willing to work with me.  They claim that they had been willing to send me a return label and accept the product return without a restocking fee, which they never did.  If they would have offered to accept the product back with the return label, I would have gladly returned the product, and this would never had been an issue.

In looking at other BBB complaints regarding this business, it seems that my experience is not unique.

I did not order the toner.  I do not want the toner.  I have no use for the toner since the printer stopped working months ago.  I do not feel that I should have to pay a ridiculously high restocking fee for something that I did not order.

The representative from Destination Print has also threatened to initiate a BBB complaint against our company as part of her threat to make me agree to pay the restocking fee.

      Sincerely,

      *********************

I am so relived to see that my complaint is exactly like the others I see on the BBB site this morning. I thought I was loosing my mind !They called with an offer to take 2 toner cartridge's for a year.If I didn't think they were great, I didn't have to pay for them. We are a small office and the two toners lasted more than a year and had no problem paying for them. Then after the payment was made, I get a call asking where did I want the gift card sent. I asked gift card for what? The lady said it was part of the deal. I didn't recall a gift card being mentioned, but it was over a year ago since I spoke with them about it, I assumed I forgot The card arrived several days later. Then a week later six more toner cartridges come in. I contacted them to let them know they shipped somebody's order to me by mistake.I was told it was all part of the agreement I made. Six cartridges for me is fives years worth of toner.. who buys five years worth of toner in advance ? I never made any agreement to take any more than the initial two. She told me I spoke to a guy named ****** who explained the deal to me. I've only ever spoken to ladies when contacted by them I told them to make arrangements to get the cartridges picked up and even offered to send them back the money for the gift card. She said that wasn't going to work for them because she couldn't return them. After getting into a heated discussion over it they offer to give me a fifty percent discount on each toner, just so they didn't lose money on it. If that wasn't good enough she was going to have to turn it over to her bill collecting department. They split the 6 toners over 4 invoices, charged double the original price and gave me half off. And they added a line for shipping and handling on each of the four invoices when received just one box.Now that I see all the other BBB complaints just like mine, I'm not going to even call them to discuss the invoices

Date of first transaction was in May 2022. I was solicited on the phone at my place of work about toner for my printer. I was told I can try out 2 cartridges for 1 year if they work I pay for them if not I can send them back plus I would get a rebate at the end of term. By 6 months in November of 2022 I was already getting a bill and asked to pay it. No problem still 6 months to go but I paid. Rebate was received a $100 **************** card. Next thing I know I receive 6 additional cartridges to my office. I call up and said I never authorized 6 more cartridges to be shipped. The response from a girl named *** was, well you already used the rebate so we can't take them back. I didn't order them to begin with. I now have 6 different invoices totaling ****** each for something I did not authorize. Nothing is in writing this was all verbal. I am being told there is nobody else I can speak to and if I do not pay the invoices they will put me in to collections. This company is nothing but a bunch of scam artists and I want these cartridges sent back I even offered to give them back the same $100 **************** card they gave me.

We received multiple calls from a sales rep who gave his sales pitch for a "Free" trial toner set. We initially declined the offer but we get more calls the next few weeks. He guaranteed that if these toners do not double our yield and usage, they would be free. These toners DID NOT perform as advertise. We used one of the two they sent us as a trial. I wanted to send one back but they said they could not accept the return. The invoice was for two toners at **** each plus shipping/handling ***** . You can get same toners for less than ****** each. They do not tell you how much each toner cartridge is until you get the first invoice. I called them for a return label or if they will provide some credit for shipping it back to them. I spoke with the ***, our sales rep. They offered a *** discount for the one toner and an **** **** "rebate" gift card so I don't have to return it . I told them that I would not be using their products and thanked them for the trial. My company paid for the two toners and I thought I was done. A few weeks later, we get 7 more toners spread over four different invoices but shipped in the same box. Each toner came to **** each and they charged ****** four times for shipping and handling (total ******** these items in the same box. The total was ********* That is **** for each toner shipped. I called them wanting to return the products I did not order. They took my number and said a supervisor would call me. They also asked if I used the **************** gift card they sent me. That is when I went to the BBB and found their business practices. I just read that if you use this credit card, they WILL NOT take the toners back. So in effect, the "promotional ******** ******* gift card" (that is what they called it on their invoice), is a trap. Fortunately, I did not use the card as others did. But this means that the company really over-charged for toners you can get on ****** for quite a bit less. The company scams.

We received a call from a sales rep named ******* who gave her sales pitch for this double yield 2 for 1 printer ink deal. We initially declined the offer. A few months later ****** called back again with the same offer and we did decided to give it a try (ordered two inks). We received 2 ink cartridge's and the invoice for the two and then paid the invoice. A different person named Kim then called us to thank us for paying the invoice within the net terms and confirmed that we would be receiving a $100 visa gift card for paying within the net terms and that our other two ink cartridge's were being sent out. I expressed confusion, explaining we ordered 2 of the double yield, *** told us that their cartridge's are normal yield but that they send 2 for the price of 1, (because we ordered 2 we were actually receiving 4 cartridge's total). We had already paid the invoice at that point. While on the phone with **** I even confirmed that there would be no additional invoices and no additional inks sent other than those 4 and no auto-shipments. *** confirmed no and that when we needed more ink we just call them to order more. Last week we received a large box with an additional 6 cartridge's and 1 toner drum (totaling 8 ink cartridge's and 1 drum), along with an additional 4 invoices spread out with terms ranging from net 30 to 120 all totaling close to $*****. We called the Destination Print and spoke with a person there who said that they could only submit a return request if the $100 gift card was not spent (which unfortunately it was, as we gave it to an employee to show appreciation to them). They are currently offering to exchange some of the cartridge's for other printer inks but said that the price listed on these invoiced wont change and they will not accept a return. We do not use enough ink to use all of the cartridge's we received within probably 5 years.. Very disappointed with the scam this company is clearly running after this experience.

I did a trial of ink cartridges from Destination Print. I was told that it would last 3x longer than the usual XL cartridge. It did not. When I received the bill for 317.24 I told them that I did not want to continue. When the ink cartridges were used I paid the original bill on 10/14/21 and again told them that I did not want to continue. A few days later I received a phone call that they were refunding me 100.00 by American Express Gift Card but that they needed to speak to me in order to send it. I received the gift card by Fed Ex. In November, I received FIVE more complete sets of ink. I have had multiple conversations with Destination Print trying to return these ink cartridges that I never ordered. They refuse to accept return of these without a 20% restocking fee totalling $309.00. On 12/20/21 I received 5 invoices totalling $*******. The invoices enclosed were all dated October 22, 2021. The postmark was dated 12/14/2021 from Santa Clarita, CA. I have shipped everything back to Destination Print by Certified Mail, in their new, unopened state with the unused gift card, a copy of all invoices and a photocopy of the mailing envelope. I did not agree to purchase any additional ink beyond the initial trial. I was under the impression that the $100 gift card was a refund due to our multiple conversations about the price of the ink. There is no written contract that I can refer back to. The woman at Destination Print keeps referring to 'the manufacturer'. Stating that the ink should be returned to the manufacturer but there is no manufacturer listed on any of the ink cartridge boxes to contact. My first step would have been to warn the manufacturer that Destination Print is not representing their product well. The product has no identifying markings beyond 'made in China". See Photos Today I was told that the ink would be shipped back and that we would have to pay the restocking fee to get a return label.
