I took out a loan with Little Lake Lending on 12/2/2024 in the amount of $1,200. I have already paid $3,162.60 to them and when I called and tried to negotiate a pay off amount since I had already paid them almost 3 times the amount I had taken out, they would not agree to this amount.Business Response

I took out a loan with Little Lake Lending in October 2024 for $1000. I desperately needed funds. I did not realize that I was being charged an outrageous interest rate of 400%. i later found out that the interest rate is hidden in 21 pages of fine print legal documents. Payments are made by ACH from my bank account. I have paid $368.18 for each of the months of November and December 2024, and January and February 2025, for total repayments of $1,472.72 With another payment scheduled for March 19, 2025. Apparently the loan is not scheduled to be paid in full until April 2026, which, because of this outrageous interest rate it will end up costing me $6,627.24 on a $1,000 loan. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income. This is loan sharking at best. This company is preying on vulnerable people. If this loan were made by a lender licensed in Colorado, the lender charging this interest would be committing a class 6 felony.Business Response

When applying for this payday advance loan online, the conditions are unclear - deliberately so. Demanding more than five times the initial principle in order to pay off the loan is predatory and unethical in the very least, if not illegal.Business Response

I received a $1,500 loan from Little Lake Lending on 3/17/2025. As of today, *** made two payments of $482 (on 4/1 and 4/16), totaling $964. Despite this, I was told that the current payoff amount is $8,205.05 more than five times the original loan amount. This is completely predatory and financially abusive. I was totally misinformed during our phone conversation. I was never clearly informed of the terms of this loan. However the terms of the contract are misleading, unfair, and *************** situation is not unique, many other consumers have reported similar experiences. I am requesting an immediate review of my account and resolution in the form of loan forgiveness or significant reduction in the balance. This level of interest and fee accumulation should not be legal.Business Response

In February of 2025 I took out a loan in the amount of $1000 with Little Lake Lending. My estimated payment was $277 per month. Or, so I thought. But, after my initial payment on payday, two weeks later another $277 drafted from my account. And, every two weeks rather than every month it continues to draft. I have paid over $1800 already on a $1000 loan. I can't find a payment schedule or anything that tells me when these payments will stop except that there are 25 payments total. That would bring my total repayment to over $6000 on a $1000 loan. How is this legal? My only option is to close my bank account and file bankruptcy. My credit union has advised me to close account immediately. I have paid off the loan plus several hundred dollars. And, the payoff amount is still more than I borrowed to begin with. The company is impossible to speak with someone and you cannot understand anyone who does get on the line.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
My credit union has advised me that the lending agreement I have entered into is illegal, predatory lending and should not authorize any more funds be drafted from my bank account. I have already paid enough to satisfy the loan. I closed my bank account. I ask again that my account be closed. My bank won't allow me to draft any money to the company and has advised me to seek help and counsel through the ftc and my local delegates.Sincerely,

Dear Better Business Bureau,On 12/20/2025, I took out an emergency loan of $1400 to pay bills and protect my credit until the first paychecks from my new part time job began. I was told the loan was expensive, so I knew Id pay it off quickly. During the phone conversation, I confirmed the $330.79 monthly payment with the representative. She was talking very quickly and kept talking over me, but I did my best to understand her even though I was having a hard time breathing because of the stress. When the representative on the phone said the loan was expensive, I did not understand what Little Lakes expensive meant, but I understood what the monthly payment was.On January 24th, the day a SECOND monthly payment of $330.79 was withdrawn from my checking account, I began reaching out to LLL to find out why there were 2 monthly payments totaling $661.58 per month on a $1400 loan. I was also trying to access my pay off amount. I waited on hold, but wasnt able to talk with anyone. I sent emails to customer service, but I got no response. I also tried to log into my account during February, but the site was not letting me log into my account. I was working 3 jobs, so I couldnt keep reaching out.I was finally able to log in today, 3/24, and the pay off amount for the $1400 loan is $6285.01. I have already paid a total of $1984.74 ($330.79 on 1/10, 1/24, 2/7, 3/7, and 3/21).My dispute is with the misinformation about monthly payments from the representative and the predatory lending rate that makes a $1400 emergency loan $8269.75 to pay back. I believe the interest on this loan is illegal in **, especially given the fast-talking representative on the phone who kept talking over my ************ credit is good, and Id like to keep it that way. Id like to pay this loan off at a legal and reasonable rate.Thank you for your help - I appreciate anything you can do!Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: It does not clearly disclose the price, the fact this it is weekly, or the 500%+ interest. If it did, you wouldn't have so many people on here saying that It's not properly disclosed. I am dissatisfied with this response as I will only agree to pay back the $1000 I borrowed and only on monthly payments. The way this loan process is designed is to prey on people who are desperate and just need a little help to get through the month, this is predatory lending at its best. So as I said I will gladly pay back what I borrowed, but I will not pay a penny more, and I will not pay weekly. I will only pay back the 1000 I borrowed and on a monthly schedule.

On February 24th, I had a need for 200.00. I got an offer from little lake lending. I can not believe it could be legal to charge $896.26 over a year for $250.00. They are charging me $81,66 per month!!! I have already been deducted a payment This is absolutely ridiculous and they seem to prey on people in bad financial situations.Business Response
