    I had a terrible experience with SKN Communities. They have shady tactics to reduce security deposits by 50%. Not only that, but they also charge a $325 fee that's applied to a tenants security deposit for services that were not performed throughout the duration of the lease. This is a complete scam. I have learned that hundreds of other tenants have fallen victim to losing most, if not all of their security deposit due to these tactics. In my case, SKN Communities deducted a total of $700 from my security deposit because they claimed two drawers to a desk were missing when in fact, those drawers were ************* in the closet. Even after being notified the drawers were in the closet, they attempted to fabricate other ways to retain the $700. I had to consult contract attorneys and eventually will take legal action to have the lease deemed unfair in court. I highly advise anyone considering renting from SKN Communities to be extremely cautious and to thoroughly read the lease before signing.

    I'm sorry to learn that your interaction with SKN Communities was unpleasant. But I must say that your claims of dubious methods to cut security deposits by 50% are untrue. All fees are expressly stated in the lease agreement, and any security deposit deductions are made only for actual damages or unpaid rent.

    The $325 fee you stated is not deducted from a tenant's security deposit, I must add. It is a service cost that also includes extras like bed linens, towels, and comforters in addition to regular apartment cleaning service. Additionally specified in the lease agreement, this fee is separate from the security deposit.

    Your accusation that your desk drawers were missing is unfounded; our staff did not discover them during the move-out inspection. Every time, we perform in-depth inspections and note any damages or missing goods. We would have revised the inspection report and changed the security deposit if you had told us earlier where the missing drawers were.

    I must also respond to your assertion that "hundreds of other tenants" were hurt by our purported strategies. This is just untrue, and we haven't had any other tenants complain about our security deposit policy or take legal action against us.

    In conclusion, I am aware that your interaction with SKN Communities has been negative. I must say, though, that your allegations of shady dealings are untrue, and the lease agreement makes plain all fees. We constantly work to offer our tenants superior customer service and just policies.
