When I returned the vehicle, a young man, who appeared to be of Indian or brown skin descent, asked if we were returning the car, to which I confirmed. Shortly after, an older gentleman, inspected the car. with my sister and another woman, then boarded the shuttle to the airport. At no point during the inspection was I informed of any issues with the vehicle, including any mention of a smoke odor. The following day, I received a voicemail thanking me for my business and informing me that I was now a VIP customer who could book directly through *********************************************. I also left a 5-star review for an employee named ******, who, despite my initial frustration, provided excellent customer service. On December 27 at 11:02 PM (New York time), I received a receipt for the rental. The receipt did not indicate that I was charged any smoking fee or that there were any additional charges. However, on January 3, exactly one week after returning the vehicle, my card was charged $300 for an alleged smoke odor in the car. I immediately called to inquire about this charge and was informed that the fee was applied because the vehicle supposedly smelled like smoke. I strongly dispute this charge for the following reasons:1.There was no smoking in the ************ one mentioned a smoke odor at the time of return. Both gentlemen who inspected the car made no comments about any issues, including a smoke smell.3.The timing of the charge is highly questionable. If the car truly smelled like smoke, I should have been notified and charged at the time of the inspection, not one week later.4.The receipt I received on December 27 showed no smoking fee. This indicates that there were no issues noted with the vehicle at the time.Furthermore, if the vehicle truly had a smoke odor, it is inconsistent to have received a voicemail the day after return thanking me and designating me as a VIP customer. This suggests there were no concerns with the vehicle at the time of return.Initial Complaint

I was charged $250 for a "cleaning fee" on a vehicle that was returned in fine condition. There was minimal dirt, nothing that required more than a quick vacuuming. There was nothing on the already stained upholstery. Only small amounts of dirt on the floor that would be expected with 6 days use. The representative at the rental threatened to charge us $300 for returning the car in an excessively dirty condition. When I asked to discuss the matter with a manager, they said there was not one available. When I asked for their contact information, I was told no. Several other customers also returning cars had similar complaints and issues. I returned the car yesterday (1/3). I will also be disputing the charge with my credit card company.Initial Complaint

This is the biggest scam company in the history of scam companies. They could teach a course of "screw the customers". We rented this car on 10/16/2024 We rented the car through priceline in ****** ***********. We were supposed to have a van pick us up for the airport. When we arrived, there was no van and no number to call them on. When we tracked down a phone number we were told to "take a cab" to their site. $40 later we arrived in the back of a run down building. WE find our way into this dirt hole and meet with the "manager". He informs us that not only had the price changed, BUT that he would take a $1500 Euro ($1756.00!!!!!!!!!!) deposit on top of the rental. We told them that was not in the agreement and were told that if we didn't like it we were "free to get a ride back to the airport to locate another car rental company for a fee of $20 PER PERSON".We returned the car with a full tank and no damage (which he provided a form for) and we left with his saying "The deposit has been release and will be back on the card within a day or two."After 2 weeks with nothing, I called the corporate office (The number you see in many of the "responses" in the reviews. I was told that they were a franchise. They tried to call many times with no answer and sent MANY emails demanding action, all of which have gone unanswered. The corporate office constantly gives you the exact same canned responses and I was finally told that they couldn't do any more than send emails. I finally challenged the charge with *********** and have a temporary credit on my account while they ************** of the writing of this review (12/1/2024) the deposit STILL hasn't been returned (Over 6 weeks later). I have the temporary credit on my credit card but I can access it until they conclude their review. So essentially, They have stolen the entire deposit ($1756) and Im still hanging in the ******* NOT RENT FROM THESE CRIMINALS!Initial Complaint

On 5/13/24, I leased a car from Priceless at LAX with a return date of 5/27/24. I picked up the car late at night in the dark from an alley behind the building, clearly impossible to inspect. Upon the return of the car I was told that there is damage to the car, I did not have any recollection of any damage I made. I was in a hurry to catch a plane and had to leave. The man behind the desk (manager) charged my credit card $1,000.00 with the additional $200.00 original deposit I made when getting the car for a total of $1,200.00. Shortly after the manager filed a claim with my insurance company (********), few weeks after ******** paid for the repairs. Since said repairs were paid, I have made numerous contacts with Priceless to get my deposit back. Still waiting.Initial Complaint

When I picked up my rental on 7-8-24 I was told due to me using a debit card for my deposit I would have to pay a refundable deposit in the amount of $500. I was told by ******* the entire $500 deposit would be refunded back to me. I was only refunded $200 of the $500 deposit fee. I spoke with a floor supervisor by the name of ***** on 7-12-24 and was told it could take up top 15 business days before I received the deposit owed in the amount of $300. I have yet to receive this amount. Please refund $300 back to my credit card on file as promised.Initial Complaint

All on a sudden I found a 1200$ charge to my credit card and the priceless is claiming I drove out to their jurisdiction, which priceless never told me. And I have not been to the jurisdiction they are claiming. Now they are refusing to give my 1200$ back and from all the reviews I see that's the scam they are doing with almost everybody in different innovative ways. Dear BBB Representative/ Customer ***************
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to *********************** complaint regarding his recent rental experience with Priceless Car Rental.
Firstly, we would like to address the claims related to the weather conditions and shuttle service. The shuttle service to our rental office is operated by LAX airport and is not under the control of Priceless Car Rental. While we strive to provide a seamless experience, occasional delays can occur, and we regret any inconvenience this may have caused. Moreover, the weather in *********** during the period in question ranged between ***** degrees Fahrenheit, and it did not reach the claimed 95 degrees.
Regarding the rental agreement and the geographical restrictions: As per our records and the signed rental agreement uploaded by ********** on the BBB portal, it is explicitly stated that our rental vehicles are allowed to travel within the states of ********** and ****** only. Despite this clear stipulation, ********** decided to drive the rental vehicle to *******, thereby violating the terms of the rental agreement.
To address this violation, a discounted fee of $1,200 was charged to ************** credit card instead of the standard $2,000 violation fee. This charge is consistent with the terms agreed upon in the signed rental contract, which ********** acknowledged upon initialing and signing the forms at the time of vehicle pick-up.
We understand the frustration and inconvenience that ********** and his family experienced. However, it is important to note that the fees and policies were disclosed during the reservation and the rental agreement process. It is the responsibility of the renter to review and adhere to the terms of the rental agreement.
We strive to ensure that all customers have a clear understanding of our rental policies and procedures. We will continue to work on improving our communication and service to avoid such situations in the future. If there are any further questions or clarifications needed, we are more than happy to assist.
Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,****

I booked a rental car via Expedia. The total cost for the rental on Expedia was $91.02. That is the amount that I paid. When I went to pick up the car at Priceless, I was told the $91.02 was a "booking fee' and the total of the rental car would be $434.55. Which includes a refundable $200.00 deposit. I feel like the fee displayed on Expedia was a trap. Had I known that it would be almost triple the cost of I was initially quoted I never would have done business with Priceless.
