Dear BBB,I went through a 3-year bankruptcy with payments being made and organized through the trustee of *******. I completed the bankruptcy and was told by my attorney that paperwork and payments were sent to the lien holder but there was no response when the attorney requested the title. The company has not responded to the bankruptcy regarding releasing the lien. Please let me know what I must do to get my title released. I just called the number that is listed on this page. They said they are no longer in business in accepting loans. I told him we were trying to get the lien removed.

I had a loan with trading financial credit LLC sometime ago and they still have a lien on my registration. I called up the number I found on your website and they gave me a email address that is fake. All they could say we're sorry we can't help you we can't help you. How do I resolve this issue? I've noticed there have been other complaints against this company is there another number or email? How do I handle this? This is a scam.

I am a 79 yo old senior relocated from Oakland, CA to Damascus, MD on 4/1/21. I had my 2010 Honda Fit shipped to my new address, then began the process of registering the car in MD. For the first time, I looked closely at my CA registration and discovered that Trading Financial Credit was listed as lienholder! In October 2010. I made a $**, 4-month title loan on my Fit (which I owned outright) to outfit my kitchen in anticipation of a mortgage loan, which I received. I repaid the title loan within 90 days as contracted. However, I had difficulty getting the company to provide the final payoff amount and thought they were trying to churn additional debt on my part. I finally had to send them a certified check in excess of the final amount to clear my account. I then received the title in the mail but didn't know I had to do anything more. TFC has not informed DMV that there is no longer a debt to them. I have tried to contact them by phone & Internet w/o success.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/21) */ In response to the claim made by********************, she has stated that TFC has not informed DMV that there is no longer a debt and the lien removed. Please note that TFC is in compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws. Following CA DMV rules TFC mailed the title with the lienholder's release signature and a stamp to******************** back in July 2011. The process of removing a lien holder is simple and straightforward. With the lienholder's release signature and a stamp on the title, the DMV removes the lien from the vehicle's record and issue the owner a new title without the lienholder information on it. CA DMV doesn't require any additional notification from the lienholder that debt has been repaid. The title with the lienholder's release signature and a stamp on the title is the confirmation by itself that the lien was satisfied.******************** was supposed to take the title to the DMV, by visiting DMV office or by mail.******************** was informed about the process in time of signing of the loan agreement. And our representative tried to explain to ******************* what she had to with the title again when******************** called to get the Payoff quote on 07.07.2011, but******************** refused to listen and terminated call. We wish to resolve this situation with the removing the lien. Our company was able to speak with******************** and our representative explained to her how the lien release works and what she would need to do to obtain the new title without our lien on it.******************** informed us that she lost her title. Since******************** lost her title and never took it to the DMV her only option was to obtain a Lien Satisfied. She was informed that she would need to pay the notary fee of $15.00. ******************* made the payment and the Lien Satisfied was process and notarized. We mailed the Lien Satisfied on the address what******************** provided. And the Payoff letter, what she has requested, was sent Via Email.
