  We worked with ****** on training and behavior support for our two dogs, and the experience was truly outstanding. Shes incredibly knowledgeable, communicates clearly and consistently, and brings a warm, funny, and down-to-earth approach that made the whole process feel enjoyable and effective. Her follow-up was exceptionalshe didnt just disappear but stayed engaged and supportive throughout. ****** had a huge impact on both our dogs and our confidence as a family. Highly recommend!

  FROM BULLY TO SERVICE DOG IN 2 WEEKS FLAT ... PHENOMENAL.My partner and I hired ****** because we needed to fly out of the country and our 18-month-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier was a rambunctious and overprotective, wild child. We were desperate, but also skeptical. How was this person going to train our dog in just one session? That is EXACTLY what happened. ****** uses a combination of techniques and tools to get into the psychology of the dog ... and us! ... and I'm a psychotherapist! ?? She's a no-nonsense, behavioralist. We love her. She created a Miracle in ******. In no time at all our dog was behaving nicely on bus rides and greatly curbed his negative behaviors. We kept working with him and he was a model citizen on that two-leg plane ride, AND BACK. WE LOVE YOU, ******!

  HI ******** Thank you for your kind, kind words!!The change that we saw in ****** was amazing, to be sure. He went from being a wild mustang/kangaroo, lol, to this sensible, service dog who can now travel on the Metro, or fly to foreign countries! What progress!The main reason I know he's doing great is because you guys are so great at implementing the knowledge and skill sets I shared with you both. Also both of you are consistent and persistent. I know your motivation for that came from really wanting ****** to live his best life.Now that he's so well behaved and balanced, he can share so much more in your daily activities and be with you guys and friends more. I could see how much he was wanting direction from you both to be the best version of himself and be more apart of your lives.Goal achieved! Yes, in two weeks!!So proud of you guys!:)

  Words cannot describe the kind of help that I received from ******. She gave me tools to use for me and my ******* girl. I have so much confidence now. Not only with ******* but with other dogs I get to come into contact with.She actually trained ME; showing me ways to become the leader of the pack rather than the other way around!Thank you dear ******.   I've had my dog, ********, for the past 12 years, and over that period of time I rarely had friends/family come over as he was a territorial menace to society- think barking, biting, charging, the works. All of that needed to change when we moved in with my partner and his cat because frankly, that's not a fun way to live.Enter ******. I had already warned her over the phone what ******** was capable of and she reassured me that by the end our 3 hour masterclass she'd be able to turn his personality for the better. Within the first 10 minutes or so, I had my doubts- my dog was barking his head off, to the point where a neighbor came out to yell at him (sorry!); ****** immediately knew we had to change course to avoid getting in trouble, and with the help of an e-collar (which she only brings out for very extreme cases) we were able to get ******** in check. We worked on controlling Hercules' aggression when strangers entered our home, a more efficient way of introducing him to our cat, and taking the lead on walks instead of letting him drag us around. Once the session was over, ******** decided to take a nap by ******'s feet, allowing her to sit on our couch and debrief, when just a few hours before he was charging to kick her out of his space. A month after our class with ******, we finally got around to having a new (to ********) friend come over. If you could see the shock on my partner's and my face when ******** had zero response to a stranger coming into our home and hanging out...it really felt like we had a brand new dog! For long-time dog owners, you'll need to be open to changing your approach when it comes to working with your dog; I had a learning curve to conquer in comparison to my partner, who was easily picking things up the first go around. There were points during the masterclass where I got frustrated with myself, but ******'s guidance and encouragement was everything I needed to get the job done.

  Hello *** Thank you for your beautiful review. It's so wonderful tonighto know that you guys are doing so well. ******************** was definitely a challenging case and definitely a challenging case and definitely extreme in his challenges.After all he was twelve years old and had been this way for a very long time.The e collar is not my go to, but if I have to use it, it is not used with any type of pain, or punishment in mind, but rather psychology. I can usually get away with the beeps and vibration, but even if we need static, I always try to come back to vibration and eventually not using the collar at all.******** responded so well. It does take time though when they're 12yr, but he came around and he and you guys are now able to live a much better quality of life and ********, in his retirement, can live his best years in peace and joy!You guys are great puppy parents and should be proud of yourselves and how much you have helped ********.I'm truly so proud of you and *********************** kindest regards always.******.

  I used ****** to help train my Cavapoo puppy, *****. She was just fantastic! She used love and kindness as training techniques which really worked for my puppy. I found her Master Class to be very helpful and thorough. She was available to me for additional help whenever I needed it. I would recommend her services to anyone who is considering hiring a trainer for their dog.

  My husband and I adopted our dog in January. She is a 2-year-old shepherd mix who we suspect had experienced trauma in her former life. She was absolutely terrified of people and most other dogs. She was extremely reactive and showed signs of aggression out of fear. She is a large dog and could be very difficult to control on the leash. Taking her anywhere where there would be other people and dogs wasn't an option, and having guests over was a hit-or-miss experience when it came to her behavior. She was SO sweet and loving with us, but very easily distracted and triggered by the outside world. She knew the commands, but struggled to follow directions when met with a "threat." We watched countless videos and TV shows about training, we read books and articles and we couldn't seem to get it right ... until we found Happy Paws Dog Training LA! After just the initial visit with Happy Paws, we saw an enormous improvement in our dog's confidence and behavior. The trainer's methods are totally different than some of the things we were told previously, but so simple to follow. You'll be shocked to find that the smallest things can make the biggest difference. The trainer was always available to answer questions and help us with small issues or lend us advice on how to handle situations we think we may encounter. She trained US how to be better dog parents and in turn, our dog learned she doesn't have to be in control because WE are. I'm happy to report that we can now safely and confidently take our dog on walks at busy parks or to have a drink at our local pub's patio. We would not be able to do the things we can do today without Happy Paws Dog Training LA.

  I called ****** because my 1-year old cattle dog mix was AWFUL at the vet. She had some trauma that resulted in anxiety and aggression and I would often leave the vet crying, and sometimes the vet had to turn ** away because she would not let them touch her. I had some other training issues I wanted to work on too. I've tried other types of training classes but still felt lost, so I decided that working with a behaviorist would be a great investment. ****** came to my apartment and gave ** a masterclass that lasted a few hours, and taught me how to train my dog better for greetings, "leave it"s, walking, barking, resource guarding, car anxiety, and even how to allow my dog to sleep in my bed because "The future is now!" We worked on anything and everything I wanted for my dog. The concepts I learned are really quite simple, but they made all the difference. During the 3 months of call/text support, I was able to update ****** and get some more training tips and product recommendations whenever something came up. My dog's anxiety has been reduced greatly over the past few months, and our relationship has blossomed! One time I accidentally left a few private rooms open all day and expected my dog to destroy everything like she used to. She did not touch anything! I'm so happy I'm able to trust my dog now. And even though we weren't able to work on anything at the actual vet office, everything I learned from ****** translated to our next vet visit at the end of those 3 months. My dog was significantly more calm and looking to me as a leader, and the vet was able to give her a treat and walk her to the back room without dragging her across the floor! My relationship with my dog continues to get better and better. I'm so glad I found ******; she is an incredible behaviorist and dog whisperer, and she has changed our lives for the better!

  Hi ****** Thank you for your beautiful review!!Indeed you and **** have come such a long, long way!! She's a different dog and you a competent Puppy Mama. As I tell all my Puppy Parents, 80% of the training is about you, the pups are the easy part, lol. I find my job to be job is to get the pups to understand what we want from them, get them back on track and make sure Puppy Parents know, what I've done, how, I did it, WHY it's working and be able to maintain when I walk out the door. Then with constant support from me for a few months, working as a team, miracles can happen.I'm so so proud of you both!????????

  Well, I was pretty nervous when we first started the class because I had no idea if this was going to work, but as ****** kept teaching all these new thing, it became too dam easy, she were very nice and she obviously love animals and she cared for my ***** who was extremely difficult to walk and aggressivetowards other dogs. I never expected the progress to go so fast niether, there was change immediately after the first and I was very impressed. Now I get walk with him every day with no problems at all. Would definitely recommend anyone that needs help with walking and behavioral problems.

  ****** Martel is a very supportive and intuitive trainer, both for the dog and for the owner. Her training is very high level: far beyond basic obedience training. The communication between our dog and us has greatly improved, resulting in a happier and more well behaved dog. She taught us how to understand our dog better in order to help her deal with new situations. Working with a dog is a rewarding investment of effort, and ****** has helped us make the best of that investment.
