Our building has been in contract with AmTech Elevator for 16 years because it's nearly impossible to cancel - here is yet another effort at it. The contract states that the contract can be terminated by submitting a written notice 90 days before the end of the current year term (12/31/2021). We sent an written email on 07/30/2021 specifically and clearly asked for a cancelation of the contract and that we wanted to make sure it's not renewed. One of the employees confirmed receipt of the notice on 08/03/2021 by sending a response. Further emails in the chain are about a service charge dispute that we might have to file another complaint about, but none was in the effort of revoking our cancelation notice. However, when we reached out again just in an abundance of caution to confirm our cancelation status, the aforementioned employee said it's past the 90 days mark for this year's contract, implying it's not canceled. We also would like to mention that the same employee has ignored our emails in spite of our multiple follow-ups since 09/28/2021, until now - which is deemed by them to be too late to cancel. At this point, I understood how this company works and why the previous cancelation efforts failed miserably. They will do whatever it takes to make the contract uncancelable, and not in a good way. I really hope that BBB can help us escalate this issue and get our contract canceled. Thank you.
