    I purchased the Corliss 3-drawer dresser on August 8, and when I received the dresser a few months later I noticed that there was a large crack down one side of it and that the top drawer would not stay shut / automatically opened if I had any items in it. I was offered a replacement dresser and although I was skeptical about the quality, decided to keep it and try it. A couple months later I had the top drawer opened and was placing clean laundry in, and suddenly the bottom two drawers flew open and the entire dresser fell on top of me, pinning me to the ground, it was absolutely terrifying! I used all of my strength to push the dresser back upright even though the heavy and awkward drawers kept slamming into me, pushing me down, and finally I was able to get out from under it. It's worth mentioning that there are no heavy items on top of my dresser and all of the drawers are loaded with an equal weight, none of them overstuffed. I am a healthy and fit 32 year old woman and fortunately wasn't more severely injured, but have a strained back and my legs are black and blue and scraped up. If a small pet or child was under the dresser, it would have been devastating! When I told a friend what happened she sent me a link to an article about ikea recalling dressers after a toddler's death and the style was EXACTLY like the style that L&G sold. I am a single woman and had no idea about unanchored furniture causing children deaths but cannot believe a reputable furniture company is selling pieces like this without going through BASIC safety tests or including more cautionary info with the purchase. The customer service agent was lighthearted and did not seem at all concerned over the severity of this incident - no follow up questions, no requests for pictures, just an automated response offering a refund. I am so disappointed. This is negligence on their part and they need to recall this item before a child is killed.
