My 90-year-old Father suffered a slip & fall accident in a local ***** outlet. He found Downtown LA Law Group and for over 3 years he was jerked around. They rarely responded to his phone calls requesting updates. We finally discovered they had lower-level representatives who weren't lawyers doing the initial work and finally his case was referred to a trial attorney. He has suffered hearing loss and unstable gait due to this injury. They promised to get him over a million dollars, but now sent a request for him to accept $80,000 without providing the settlement sheet we've been requesting for over 8 months.We are tired of being jerked around. At my Dad's age, his ability to comprehend certain things is slowing down. We need this case wrapped up and resolved by March 31, 2023.Business response

I am rejecting this response because they are still not providing a hard copy of the original settlement sheet we've been requesting for the past 8 months. Until that is received, this complaint is valid.In addition, a senior level partner contacted my daughter threatening her with a defamation suit if she didn't remove her Yelp and BBB review which is antagonistic and further shows what levels they will go to hide their lack of business integrity.

We have supplied the settlement amount. We need a release signed prior to dispersant of funds and deductions. The complaint has decided to not follow our procedures. We can't move forward until they sign our paperwork. Closing dispute.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because they have refused to provide the original settlement sheet from the opposing party. We need the actual settlement sheet from the opposing party, not what the Downtown LA Law firm is saying it is.Downtown LA Law firms has had more than 8 months to negotiate liens with the medical providers they had me visit which isn't finalized yet. They are also not revealing what their fees are, yet saying I need to sign a release blindly without this information.
I need the original settlement sheet mailed to me which is what I've been asking for for over 8 months. I also need to know what the rates are that have been negotiated with their medical providers in total when they mail me. And I need to know what their fees are detailed out in the same letter via mail before I sign the release.

We can't tell the complaint the fee's until and total settlement amount until we workout the deductions from the medical and other expenses. Then the remaining balance we take our percent which they should have a copy of that percentage. In order to move to the next process, we need them to sign they agree to the settlement. Then we work to figure out what the medical companies etc. want from the settlement. We have tried to reach out to them they have hung up on us. They have to agree to the settlement on the agreement then we work the numbers and can provide the total payout. I will try to send them the settlement letter from other party.Customer response

This firm is horrible and ******* ******* people of cases without completely researching a case. My family was served a summons and lawsuit for an injury that occurred on our property before we owned the home. I immediately contacted the attorney, ****** ****** representing the plaintiff and was told that they are the biggest. Firm in LA and the case would continue. I explained many times to him via email that he wrongfully served us this lawsuit because we did not own the home at the time of incident. We advised him to check the records online and it would show we closed escrow in September of 2020. The incident happened in august of **** He was a complete *** and would not handle removing us from the case. Now this case os public record and will pull up on our background reports, which is ******* I have sent numerous emails asking to close the case and pursue the correct party. Now I am having to pay an attorney thousands of dollars to respond to false accusation. ****** ****** states they're the ******* law firm in *** Yet their firm can't even correctly research a caseBusiness response

I have made many calls for the status and closing of my case. The firm has been requesting the same information over and over from me and my doctors for over three months and have not proceeded with my case. I would like the firm to prosecute my case.Business response

I have had a horrible experience with this law firm. This case has been worked on since last year with no progress. I never know what's going on with my case. I can never get a hold of anyone, when I do it's always they will call back but never do. I had over three case managers on this case. The case already isn't going any where, when there's another case manager out makes matters worse. My attorney ***** refuses to speak to me even when asked he says "Just email him". Well I have been emailing him and no response. I was told this week and last week he will call and no response. What's the purpose of taking on a case they are not going to work on or communicate about.Business response
