      I ?led my original complaint requesting a refund due to fraudulent and fake accts on ********************** 6/17/2024 summary of my complaint: 3 out of the 4 men I talked to were fake or Fraudulent, 2 were Nigerian based scams artist, claiming to be widowed business men ( I did several Back round checks & these men could not be found) , the 3rd *** who seemed to be a Hu*** Trafficker asking me to meet in a hotel on our ?rst date. I am fortunate I did not fall for the Deep fake Face time calls or the grooming by the Hotel guy, but there are so ***y who would have. Its frightening that I paid E Harmony almost $500 a company I thought was trust worthy and ended up literally being scammed by Them. I requested a refund with my complaint , they said NO , continued to charge a monthly subscription, but did offer me 3 additional free months , which I refused and they gave me anyway. Clearly they were not willing to actually address the problem . I no longer wanted any part of their dangerous dating sight But they wanted to appease me with 3 additional free months. E Harmony presents as a trust worthy sight, yet they do not VET anyone and have no culpability. I want the public to know how dangerous e Harmony is !!! a refund would be a bonus. They do not Vet anyone !!! for $481.92 I expect some responsibility to their customers. This whole process has been a night mare!!!

We are also unable to guarantee a successful outcome from using our service, although, we have found that many members have successfully found the love of their life by using our service. 
      As mentioned in our Terms and Conditions of Service: 
      12.a Cancellation at Any Time With No Refund.  
      Except as otherwise stated in this section, you may cancel your registration or subscription to any Services at any time during the term of such registration or subscription or any renewal period by accessing the "Account Settings" page under the "My Settings" option on your membership home page, clicking on "Cancel My Subscription" or "Close Account" link, and providing the information requested. In such case, your subscription will terminate at the end of the subscription term for which you have paid, and you will not receive any refund for any unused days of such subscription term.       I am rejecting this response because:

      The Contract says I pay enharmony certain amount of money for their services as a dating site and in doing so it is presumed I will be talking with real ( Not fraudulent) people to find Love. In fact I discovered it was a challenge to find anyone who was Real & who they said .  

      E Harmony misleads people to believe  they will be connecting with real Humans , The Facts remain the site is full of  Bots, Fraudulent and Fake accts this is directly due to e Harmony not verifying it's clients  identity .   E Harmony wants to collect money no matter the harm being done or the risk. You would think they'd want to rectify this .They should have a visible  declaimer  " We have No idea if the people you will be talking to are real " 

      E harmony requires  you fill out a 2 hour profile , but can't check the validity of the members Identity , For $500 you'd think  that could be done. I think the site should be removed, they knowingly continue to  promote fraud & collect money  .  Next stop for me is the **** I will keep filing complaints until something is done to hold them accountable . They are as bad as the Scammers on the site.

      I filed a complaint previously. The complaint number is ********. The complaint was resolved as eHarmony agreed to refund the amount they say I owed. Refund wasn't the correct word because I did not pay them for a new subscription. To summarize the previous complaint, I turned off my automatic subscription to eHarmony. After my subscription ran out, I no longer had access to account. ********************** started sending me statements saying I owed for another year's subscription. They eventually deleted my account, but continued to send me bills. I thought the issue was resolved, but I received a final reminder yesterday. They are threatening to send me to collections. I cancelled my automatic subscription. I have not had access to my eHarmony account since the subscription ran out. eHarmony deleted my account. I would like ********************** to state in writing that I do not owe any amount to them.

      eHarmony previously agreed to refund the amount they were billing me for the account they deleted. I never had access to the account after my subscription ran out. I cancelled the automatic subscription months before the subscription ran out.

      I have tried to locate their original response to my first BBB complaint but haven't been able to figure out how to access it. Can you please provide a copy so that I have it for my records.

      As I stated before, I cancelled my automatic renewal. If they don't have record of that, it is their system's error. I have not had access to my eHarmony account since my subscription ran out. eHarmony deleted my account. I want ********************** to confirm their original finding that I do not owe any amount.

      I've been using the free version of the eharmony platform for a little over a week to test the waters... I did received 2 profile responses that I was unable to view due to not having a paid subscription. I moved forward with a discounted (60% off) subscription with 4 monthly installments of $48.03 to view the inquiring profiles. After getting full access to the platform...Well the profiles basically disappeared/ or were non responsive. To me I felt like these were fake accounts or Bots but regardless of that I have used the site for 3 days trying to start friendly conversations with less than 20 profiles within a 60 mile radius (More then what I'm willing to travel to if need be) and not 1 response! and I'm not a bad looking individual... I digress. I'm requesting a refund for this benefit-less experience only being able to see less than 20 profiles for my area... I'm even willing to meet in the middle if though this would still feel unfair.

      Our records show that the Consumer only paid one or some of the scheduled installments. While our members may request closure of their accounts at any time, if a subscription is purchased on an installment payment basis (such as three-part pay), cancellation will not affect any obligation to pay the total contractual amount due on the agreed to subscription, and the payment method will continue to be charged until the remaining balance is paid in full.  
      As a result, we are unable to cancel this subscription. However, we have confirmed that the auto-renewal feature on this account has been disabled, so the subscription will not auto-renew

      My wife and I had joined eharmony about 2-3 years ago. Thankfully, all went great. We met each other and are now married. A few weeks after meeting each other, we cancelled our membership in eharmony and requested that we are not contacted anymore and that they remove our profile. Starting about 2-3 months ago, after about 2 years, we started receiving recommendations for new possible meetings/dates with specific recommended individuals. We have attempted to unsubscribe, which does not seem to be functional and are still receiving recommendations for dates. They seem not to stop these and there is no easy way to stop them from contacting us. Thats eems to be their business model - not allowing you to walk away.

      I signed up for 20(+/-) which was a promotional offer for one month's subscription. At NO TIME did I ever receive a confirmation email stating I had signed up. About a week later I saw my bank statement with a charge of $498.73. I called them to dispute it saying that that's not what I had signed up for. They credited the money, then took it back saying I would have to prove what I'd thought I was signing up for. I sent them supporting documentation and they credited me the money again. They have now taken the money back AGAIN stating that eHarmony proved to them that I had waited too long to cancel and sent them a picture of an email confirmation that I NEVER received. I do not have the money to pay this service and have tried contacting them but all I receive is automated responses stating I can't cancel. The bank refuses to give me my money back. i do not want this service and just want my money back. The company was extremely unclear with their membership fees and I don't know how to prove that I never received their confirmation email. if I had received it I would've called immediately to cancel. Really hoping someone can help me.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I am not disputing the charge because of the failure to 'make a match.'  My request for cancellation and a full refund was outside of their 'three day window' beacuse I never received a confirmation of my subscription email from them, even though they stated that one was sent.  The first time I saw the charge on my bank statement I contacted my bank as well as eHarmony immediately to express my desire to cancel what appeared to be an accidental sign up.  I expressed to them in no uncertain terms that their site was misleading with the subscription fees and that I would prefer to have my entire account canceled immediately and my money returned.

      I have been disputing this charge the second I saw it on the statement and no one is taking into account that I NEVER received any confirmation of the original purchase.  Judging by all of the negative reviews on the BBB I was really hoping they could assist me in some way

      I signed up for their service, with an understanding that I could cancel autorenewal.I attempted to use their app to cancel auto renewal; I took down my account profile, because I found that the service they were providing was not worth the expense.I check my credit card account routinely looking at transactions. I found that they automatically renewed my account with an inactive profile for 1 year and billed me for the first quarterly billing.I had a chat session with their customer service. I advised them I had cancelled auto-renewal and taken down my profile. They said their policy was explicit about autorenewal. They agreed to cancel my account but refused to refund the first billing.

      I chose your service because Forbes Health gave you app a number one rating. In their review they noted a very negative rating on your cancellation policy/difficulty. So essentially my word against yours.

      i declare I requested cancellation of auto-renewal. I cant produce a screen shot to document it. I can only state that your company ignored my request to cancel my subscription prior to the renewal.

      Please send me a login calendar/data which shows days that I was active on your system. I also would like a record of every profile that I contacted.

      I created a profile on the dating platform - eharmony. Within 2-3 weeks, I discovered that most of the profiles were either fake or inactive (meaning the user abandoned the profile, but didn't go through the difficult task of having eharmony delete the profile.). I immediately attempted to cancel my subscription and have my profile deleted. eharmony made it extremely difficult to do both. Likewise, they have continued to charge my credit card for services I am not longer receiving. The terms/conditions eharmony customer service referenced are difficult to find on their website, no average consumer would believe they would be responsible to continue paying for a service they are not longer receiving. I like the analogy that if I cancelled my ******* subscription and continued to be charged for a service I was no longer receiving. The average consumer operates under this assumption. eharmony is deceptive and misleading in its advertising and billing practices.

      I signed up for a one year subscription to eHarmony.com and was charged a total price of $416 over multiple installments. Upon using their platform I saw there to be no users in my area (a city with population of over ******* people) and furthermore only a handful of users in the entire state. I feel completely misled from their claims of high customer success and satisfaction. I emailed their support team within an hour of signing up and was given a response that a refund would not be given.

      While our members may request closure of their accounts at any time, if a subscription is purchased on an installment payment basis (such as three-part pay), cancellation will not affect any obligation to pay the total contractual amount due on the agreed to subscription, and the credit card will continue to be charged the scheduled payments until the remaining balance is paid in full.  As a result, we are unable to cancel this subscription. This account has payments remaining and is currently open and active. We have also confirmed that the auto-renewal feature on this account has been disabled.

      I had noticed the company charged me a full year, when i applied for the initial 6, instead they charged the full. i attempted to try and fix it, but customer service either would hang up or not answer me and talk around. i tried to cancel because no one is active on it, the company then said all i could do is report people.... within 7 days. which means anyone not responding in a timely fashion because of life would be reports for suspicion. which i did not do as the is asinine. i asked for the legal department info, so i can maybe go to small claims, but after 7 attempts the emails are ignored. they then close the case. i am asking for a full refund and an apology. this would be for email ************************** which has its account closed. but is still charged .

      eharmony is unable to guarantee the quantity, quality or type of potential matches a Consumer may receive, as this is determined in large part by the specific settings/preferences a Consumer selects. We are also unable to guarantee a successful outcome from using our service, although, we are proud that many members have successfully found the love of their life by using our service. 
      We are unable to honor the consumers request for a refund as they are outside of our cancellation policy, as stated in our Terms and Conditions.       I am rejecting this response because: the delays were due to customer service ignoring my responses and closing my cases. In addition to the company using predatory tactics of 7 days to see if there is actual person. In addition there are many companies combating fake profiles and have taken proactive measures as only the data holder can. As someone familiar with both programming and data centers, in addition court cases stating it is their sole responsibility. I believe my case holds plenty of reason. As stated the company has refused a refund but more importantly refused providing key information needed to file further escalated complaints. As the last message shows their avoidance to that. I also made it abundantly clear I choose the multi month package and called to ask why it was a year. No support of given and because the skeleton uneducated workers avoided and closed the cases, it is the companies fault for not honoring. As the only reason the time window closed as I tried to work with the company before ultimately backing away from a fraudulent attitude.

      Copy and paste response, with no information requested. I believe the specialist is acting similar to what caused the refund to fail. Also didn't just ask for refund which continues to evade them. I believe this needs to be escalated to a senior or I'm not sure if there is a language barrier. But this is not effective with this representative.
