    On 7/31 during Covid I gave a $200 dollar deposit for pending procedure. However, I decided to go to a different dental office. I have called and asked for my deposit back multiple times to no avail. The office manager refuses to return my deposit. Even though no services were rendered

    Dear BBB,I am writing to file a complaint against Acevedo Dental, located in **********. During a routine checkup and cleaning, they opened a credit account in my name without my knowledge or consent, which is a clear violation of my privacy and trust.When I brought this to their attention, they were dismissive and unhelpful, claiming that I had agreed to the account during my visit, despite never being informed that they would be running a credit check on me. They also use deceptive practices to open credit accounts. They will tell you that they need to check to see if they can offer you a payment plan, and if you agree, they will open a credit account in your name without your knowledge.Furthermore, when I attempted to address the issue with the staff, they were unprofessional and unsympathetic, and showed no interest in resolving the situation or taking responsibility for their actions. The office environment was also unprofessional and unsanitary, which did not inspire confidence in the quality of care I would receive.Overall, my experience at Acevedo Dental was completely unacceptable, and I believe that their business practices are unethical and deceptive. I urge the BBB to investigate this matter and take appropriate action to ensure that others do not fall victim to their unscrupulous practices.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,

    On November 10th, 2022, I had my first dental appointment with this dental group. I was looking into getting an appraisal ****************************************************** I inquired on implants, however, the staff gave me an appraisal for **************** instead. I was told to apply for a loan of ******* to get my teeth fixed, however, when I received the loan information through proceed finance, I was told I would have to pay ******** I then proceeded not to move forward with the treatment and sent a letter to both the acevedo dental group and proceed finance to cancel my loan on November 22, 2022. Since, Acevedo dental group has not responded to any of my calls and or voicemails. I have now received a statement where it says I owe a monthly payment of ***** I called ******** bank which informed me that ************ from acevedo dental group is not going to cancel the treatment even when there is written communication of cancellation and no services were rendered. I don't want this to affect my credit. Thank you in advance

    Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/12/29) */ patient came in on an initial visit mentioning she was , having discomfort pain and could not eat well. due to extreme wear on teeth they were non restorable , patient then was advised that the teeth had to be removed and per the ada at least 2 implants should be placed for better fit and eating comfortable. patient then was explained on cost and how the treatment would proceed, pt was offered financing and accepted patient then choose the lower monthly payment with interest , after that patient was explained once digitaly scanned the treatment becomes non refundable due to digital CT scan ,Dr's time for digital surgery planning , planning done on team viwer with lab , surgical case needed to procced for surgery, and the temporary dentures patient needed along with cost and fees from the laboratories we work with. patient then was contacted and booked apointment to come in and speak to our financial coordinator and did not show up, Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2023/01/10) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The only receipt that I received was the one page document with a header ********************, DDS. The other documents I did not receive. Another thing, on the application attestation, I see an email that is not mine. In addition, it shows that I am self employed*********** since 2019 and my income supposedly is***** a year. This information is incorrect. The financial staff only said to me sign here. She never asked me questions. I am monolingual Spanish speaking and this document is English which is the one she had me sign and did not provide me with a copy until the day I received the proceed packet. I also made numerous calls as of November 14, 2022 to cancel treatment and got no response. These are the numbers my daughter and I called.********************************************************************** Since I was not getting any response or acknowledgement that they had received my voicemails, emails or letter, that's when I proceeded to reach out to the ***.     The Acevedo Dental Group took out a ****** loan in my name without my consent or signature. I was asked by my mother to be a co-signer on her loan. Instead, the Acevedo Dental Group filed two loans, one for my mother and another with my information as single borrower. My mother's loan was denied but mine went though. They received the funds immediately from **************. I called ************** and Acevedo Dental Group's ********** office as soon as I was made aware of the loan. This was the only time the dental office answered my call. They said they would pass ***** my information and return my call. They never have. Every time I've called back they don't pick up. I leave a message asking to be called back and they haven't. Once I explained the situation to **************, they also attempted to reach the dental office to no avail. I am in ***** and cannot go into the office in person at the moment. The first payment for this loan is due this week. I need help reaching this business and ensuring they return the loan. My mother is insistent the dental office never told her they would submit a loan in my name. They also failed to explain to her the cost of services rendered. She was under the assumption everything they were doing to her was an evaluation.

    I wasn't informed I was applying for credit at the dental office. I speak Spanish only and took my wife for an********** appointment where they were also going to do dentures. However, No dentist ever saw or talk to my wife, ***** T.******, on ******* when I took her for the ********* appointment because she had pain and 3 dangling teeth. A office worker asked us who had good credit and gave paperwork to sign without explanating I was applying for a loan. I was never asked or given the opportunity to pay in cash. My daughter,****** took us there in ***** and told us she was going to pay cash. I immediately called them on ****** to cancel as they gave my wife no service for her ********* pain and we found another dentist the next day that helped her. Acevedo dental told me I can't cancel that I have go in person. My daughter **** spoke over the phone and text with Dr. Acevedo on 6/10/22 and verbally cancel and cancel in writing via text. Got a surprise loan packet with a loan balance of ******* that I owe Acevedo dental. I thought I signed that I would be financially responsible for my wife's treatment and health should an ********* arise not a loan with interest. My daughter, ****, whom stated to them she's the authorized rep was never told what the charge would be or how payment would be handled. On ******* I went to the dental office and they told us we can't cancel, everything is halfway complete and I needed to speak to Dr. ******** They scheduled an appointment for ******** Went and they never acknowledged we called to cancel and requested cancellation since ****** because I didn't follow procedures to sign the release of their responsibility in writing. They never informed us how to do it as they keep disregarding me and my wife. My daughter, ****, finally canceled on ******* and the dental office charged ****** for service rendered, even though, my wife was never touched or saw the dentist. Don't believe I owe anything as I was taken advantage of.
