Dear Mr. **************************************** (UCA) has received your complaint.  We thank you for giving us the feedback on what transpired. *** takes every complaint very seriously, and we are doing a full investigation.

We have reviewed your file, and it is recorded that you signed up on April 23rd, 2024.  On this day you were sent an e-signature document that lists all the benefit information. We send this document so that our potential members are fully aware of the benefits. It is documented that you read and signed this document on April 23rd, 2024. This signed document was then emailed to you on April 24th, 2024, at the email address you provided.

However, as a reassurance, we do provide our members with a 30-day look period. If for any reason they are not satisfied, the policy can be cancelled, and a full refund is issued.

It is documented that you signed into your online fulfillment on May 3rd, 2024. The online fulfillment provides members with all the information included in your plan such as providers search, billing, benefits, and much more.  When you signed into the online fulfillment a pop-up appears explaining that this is not a major medical plan and that it does not meet the minimum standards. On this day you accepted the pop-up and proceeded with the plan.

These plans are sold by individual licensed agents. The agent documented that you had a qualifying life event (QLE), and that you qualified for a special enrollment period (SEP) and due to this, they also enrolled into a ********** Blue Sheild Plan.  We do not service that plan. You would have to contact your agent or the major medical carrier to help you with that plan as we only service the BalanceCare plan.

We regret that you had a challenging experience, but we do feel that we provided you with all the information included in your plan. We also provided you with a 30-days money back guarantee to see if the plan fits your needs. You had access to all the plan details and our contact information is in all our documents.    We received written notice that you wanted to cancel your plan with no specific reason for the cancellation. We processed your cancellation as per your request and sent an email confirmation of the cancellation.

Naturally, we feel upset when we hear that a member is unhappy, but we do not feel that a refund is due. If you have any questions or would like to speak with us, please contact ****** ********* at *********************.  Again, please accept our sincere apologies.

      Sincerely,
      Unified Caring Association

DO NOT use Unified Caring Association or anything described as a ********** Plan. The sales pitch is great. Low cost, zero deductible, They take the money fast and then hope you dont use the insurance???? for anything within the 30 days you have to review your coverage. Their documents state UCA Membership is not Major Medical or Comprehensive Health Coverage. It is intended to help supplement ******************************* It is neither Minimum Essentials Coverage under the *********************** Act nor is it Workers Compensation Insurance. The sales person knew I did not have any healthcare so why did he sell me something that is supposed to help supplement. Very very confusing once you try to use any service. Confusion Example All of these names are on the **************** Card you receive ****************************************************************************** Zurich ******************************************* *** Discount Medical Networks Patriot Health ******** ***. The only good thing about this was being able to have a no charge phone call with a telehealth doctor who would then prescribe medication.

They won't let me cancel my husband's coverage, stating that it was a Hippa violation. Funny, I was able to sign all documents, and use his card for payment if you're ACA. I sent an email, stating that I wanted to cancel , and a full refund credited back to my husband's account.

      Dear ****************,

Unified Caring Association (UCA) has received your BBB review.  We thank you for giving us the feedback on what transpired. UCA values our members and takes every complaint very seriously.

It is our understanding that you are upset that you are not able to cancel the plan for your spouse. We understand that you are frustrated with our cancellation process, however it is our policy that only the primary member can cancel the plan. This is a safety feature that is in place to protect our members from any fraud or wrongdoings.

We had a representative reach out to the primary account holder to assist with the cancellation. Unfortunately, we have been unable to contact the primary member or leave a voice mail because the mailbox is full. We then sent an email with instructions on how they can email support to request the cancellation. Once the email is received, we will process the cancellation.

UCA hopes that you understand that we take the safety of our members seriously and apologize that you had a challenging experience.

If you have any questions or would like to speak with us,please contact ******************************* at **********************.  Again, please accept our sincere apologies.

I called the open enrollment for the *** phone number and I was sold a bill of goods. Now I'm paying for everything out of pocket anyway after paying 500 bucks a month. I feel completely deceived balance care is a fraud. Leaving this note so that if anybody else reads it they don't fall for the same c*** They sold it as the Obamacare health care plan and it turns out to be some crappy discount plan.

As with others here, I needed coverage through ACA and requested information. Somehow these people called me and like an idiot, I answered. While the man I spoke to was very nice, I actually thought I was speaking to healthcare.gov when clearly I was not. They're very convincing scammers. In a moment of vulnerability after being laid off from my job, I didn't realize what was going on and signed up for this total nonsense, charging me $140 without truly explaining what was going on when all I had asked for was ACA coverage, not this extra c*** Luckily I caught it within a day and am now working on getting it canceled. They've told me I'll get a refund which is great, but wow I am shocked at the audacity of these places.

I called unified caring association thinking they were the health insurance marketplace a year ago after getting an email. Uca definitely acted as if they were the marketplace. They took my info and signed me up for Ambetter health insurance, which i could have done myself. They acted like I was getting a big discount by calling. I got health insurance for $13 a month because of the tax credit, it had nothing to do with uca. Then uca has been charging me $44.90 a month for a year for doing nothing. They signed me up for the cheapest plan with highest out of pocket and deductible. When i asked about a better plan for a little more premium with dental and vision they assured me i was on the best plan. They rushed the rest of the phone call and had me agree to some agreement while on the phone with them that no one has time to read. They literally rushed me to agree. They asked how much income I planned on making the year 2023 AFTER taxes. Which is not the amount marketplace needs, they need gross income. Now I'm probably not getting a refund from the irs because I took all the credit all year long. Now it's open enrollment and I'm understanding uca has been robbing me all year. I want a refund. $44.90 x 13 months and to be canceled. I nearly registered mymember blah blah to cancel myself but I'm not going to click on the "I agree to the above" in order to register. I'm not agreeing to anything that uca is doing, they are scammers. Taking $44 a month for nothing is fraud. They are not an insurance agency or insurance company. Uca.org is non profit so why would you take my money and get my info wrong with the real health marketplace.

Unified Caring Association (UCA) has received your review.  UCA takes every complaint very seriously, and we are reviewing your file.

The UCA plans are sold by individual licensed agents, and it is recorded that you signed up on 10/18/2022 with an effective date of 11/01/2022.  On this day you were sent an e-signature document that lists all the benefit information. We send this document so that our potential members are fully aware of the benefits. It is documented that you read and signed this document on 10/18/2023 agreeing to the plan benefits. A copy of this signed document was emailed to you on 10/19/2022.

However, as a reassurance, we do provide our members with a 30-day look period. If for any reason they are not satisfied, the plan can be cancelled, and a full refund is issued.

In addition to the **signature that you signed and that was sent to you the notes on your file indicate that we reached out to you on several occasions and never received a returned call. You were sent a welcome email, welcome letter and you were provided with a link to access your member portal that provides you with all the benefits, certificates, provider locator, billing and much more.   You also receive an email each month that your payment was processed, and it does provide you with our contact information; this information is also on all banking/Credit Card statements.

Naturally, we feel upset when we hear that a member is unhappy, but we do feel that you purchased the plan, we provided an ample amount of information and provided a 30-day money back guarantee. You did not reach out to UCA until 12/12/2023 and we feel that no refund is due. I was scammed also. They lie over the phone on what benefits they provide. And make you sign an electronic contract and dont give you enough time to read it. The contract contradicts what the agent told me over the phone. The contract also covers them, stating that the contract is still valid regardless of the agent promises on benefits. This company is such a scam and needs to be reported!!!
