We hired L&S Turnkey Construction to detect and fix a slab leak in our home on Jul 7, 2024. To repair the leak, they rerouted a pipe through the garage to the laundry room. In rerouting the pipe, they destroyed a structural shear wall and compromised the 1-hr fire resistive construction between the garage and the house--see exhibit 1.Two repiping companies told us that the destruction of the sheer wall and fire wall was unnecessary to accomplish the pipe rerouting. The shear wall and the fire wall are code-required, life-safety issues which invoked a correction notice from the City inspector.Upon notifying L&S Turnkey, they sent a crew to repair the sheer wall--see exhibit 2. This work required removing cabinets, shelving and the removal of additional fire-resistive drywall. We have contacted them to complete the repair of the damage they caused but they have not been responsive.

PLUMBER ASKED FOR DEPOSIT OF $2354.60 ON INITIAL CONTRACT. DOWN PAYMENT WAS 20% INSTEAD OF 10% BY LAW. THEY WERE NEVER AUTHORIZED TO USE CREDIT CARD AFTER THE INITIAL DOWN PAYMENT. THEY RAN $9,418.40 ($4,709.20 ON 7/9/24 AND $4,709.20 ON 7/19/24) ON CREDIT CAARD BEFORE ANY WORK WAS DONE. INITIAL WORK CONSISTED OF OLD BATHTUB REMOVAL. BATHTUB ARRIVED A FEW DAYS LATER AND WAS THE WRONG TYPE **** IT WOULD NOT HAVE WORKED. THEY INFORMED US THEN THAT THERE MAY BE AN EXTRA CHARGE TO SEND BACK THE **** IT WAS DECIDED TO INSTALL A SHOWER INSTEAD. WHEN THE SHOWER PAN FINALLY ARRIVED THE PLUMBER RETURNED TO CONNECT THE DRAIN AND FAUCET BUT REFUSED TO START WITH WORK UNTIL I PAID AN ADDITIONAL $6,200.HE WAS ALREADY INTO US FOR AROUND $12,000. WE WERE NOT AWARE AT THAT TIME THEY USED OUR CREDIT CARD FOR THAT AMOUNT.HE FINALLY PRODUCED A COPY AND KEPT REPEATING THAT THIS WAS THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT. IT WAS NOT. THE NEW CONTRACT INCLUDED THE $6,200 I HAD PAID THAT DAY. THE DISCOURAGING PART WAS SINCE I HAD SIGNED THE FIRST CONTRACT ON HIS LAPTOP THEY WERE ABLE TO FORGE MY SIGNATURE. IF THEY DID PUT IN 4 HOURS TOTAL OF WORK, THAT WOULD WORK OUT TO $5,000 PER HOUR. THE FINAL BLOW OCCURRED WHEN WE DISCOVERED WHAT THEY WERE DOING WHCH RESULTED IN AN OUTBURST OF ANGER AND HOLLERING WITH CURSING AND F bombs and B bombs and S bombs to my wife. They initially would not leave when asked, instead continued to scream. They left with the work unfinished and the water turned off. When I tuned the water back on there was a significant leak in the copper fittings they had just soldered. I asked how much this tub replacement should have cost, and he said no more than $2,000. When they returned to make Corrections and finish the job, their fee was $700.00. WE HAVE ALL DOCUMENTS and we can send over photos of the damage. Also you may be interested in the **** review of this company.. *** is our point of contact and we authorize her for this situation
