On the same few days in July, after struggling with ATT to resolve an issue with my ****, I contacted BBB (I believe), The *** AG and a company called FAIRSHAKE. in August, I received a final email to *** AG stating that the issue had been resolved. In September, I received another letter, that at quick glance, looked exactly like the letter I received from NYSAG. So I agreed to it and paid FAIRSHAKE the 10% of the amount resolved. Not understanding that this was a new compromise that I was unaware even happened. I just assumed it was all under the same umbrella and missed a spot that said I had to return an apple watch. Now I never agreed to that, not knowingly. When I reached out to ATT they told me I can no longer speak to them., When I reached out to *** AG, they seemed to show ignorance on the original email they sent me. So now I have been told that the only people who can help me is FAIRSHAKE and there is no way to have a fair conversation with them. They only do chat.Business response

We always want to see our users reach successful settlements with the companies they bring claims against. In this case **************** signed a settlement with AT&T that involves an action to be taken on her part. (FairShake has documentation of this signature if required). At that point, it is an agreement between **************** and AT&T. FairShake has refunded our fee to her. If she requires documentation from us that she can share with AT&T please let us know and I'll see what we can provide.Initial Complaint

I went to the ************ in ********* **.They diagnosed my car with a lifter noise and oil pressure sender unit.I purchased all the parts what was necessary for fixing the issue/400$/They guaranteed the work thats why I went with them. They have been working on my truck for 6 weeks or so.When I received the truck back the noise was the same actually it got worse. The oil pressure got lower. It dropped to zero after they worked on my truck.I went back and tried to talk to the owner but he refused to cooperate with me at all.I paid for the work 1100$ and I got nothing for that.I can not drive the truck at all. After that I went to other shop and they diagnosed my car with a bearing issue which is located at the bottom of the engine. They said that the LV mechanic shop had misdiagnosed my issue and just took an advantage on **** want my money back.Business response

They settled with **** for a $95 payout. However, they keep telling me that I need to give **** my Social Security number. Not happening online. They are refusing to refund me the $20 fee that I had to pay to Fairshake to settle. I am not putting my Social Security number online. Would you? They are ignoring all attempts to chat with them. They just keep sending me the link to give **** my Social Security number. I just want my $20 refunded. Period. They are just scamming me Im afraidBusiness response

The user was refunded on 9/30. I believe the references to Social Security Number relate to a request by AT&T for a W-9 form, a standard tax form which companies often ask for before making a settlement payment. FairShake cannot impact this requirement, however the user may be able to provide the form by mail instead and could ask the AT&T point of contact about this.Initial Complaint

Got repeatedly robbed by "HUGHESNET" from August last year til now.....contacted "FAIRSHAKE" June of this year and they had HUGHESNET agree to close my account and refund ALL my money...which HUGHESNET did....Fairshake charged me ****** out of what HUGHESNET refunded me for their service.....CASE supposedly was closed....this past month HUGHESNET AFTER AGREEING TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT TO FAIRSHAKE went into my bank account without a new consent and wiped out my account....in the middle of the night!!!!! I contacted FAIRSHAKE tried to open a new case and they cancelled it.....refused to hear me......they even admitted that the agreement with HUGHESNET closing my account was a LEGAL BINDING CONTRACT yet they refused to persue it as HUGHESNET breached that legal contract by robbing my account n the middle of the night! I feel HUGHESNET and fairshake BOTH are at fault !HUGHESNET did NOT honor the agreement and I did NOT get what I paid ****** to fairshake for!Business response

We're sorry to hear about **************** experience. FairShake requires a certain amount of time to pass between a settlement agreement being completed and allowing a user to initiate a new claim against the company. This is to allow the company time to fulfill their obligations under the agreement. Allowing time for a settlement to be implemented is a necessary step of our process. However, based on **************** account, it sounds like HughesNet has not used this time to do so.
Based on her message, we have refunded **************** FairShake fee.
What are the options now? ************ can visit her FairShake dashboard and it will prompt a new communication to go out to HughesNet communicating that they must follow the settlement agreement (link here: https://app.fairshake.com/#?claim=HUG-dc0d0681b18a). If they continue not to honor the agreement, ************ is now eligible to file a new claim as of September 9 (June 11 + 90 days).
Again, this is not the sort of outcome we're looking for. We are continuing to improve our process to make it clearer to companies that they must follow their obligations under settlement agreements.
