On November 13, 2024, I purchased a vehicle, a 2018 Infiniti QX60, from CarTime in *******. At the time of purchase, I signed for the two-year warranty. One month after the purchase, I decided to cancel the warranty and went back to the company to do this. The manager told me that I had to wait 90 days before I could cancel the warranty. Once the 90 days passed, I called the company to cancel and was told that someone would get back to me. After waiting a few days and not hearing back, I called the warranty company myself and went through the cancellation process. The warranty company informed me that the check had to be returned to CarTime, and they, in turn, would send the money to my lender. I then contacted **** at CarTime to inform him that the cancellation was complete, and he said I would be informed when they received the check. About four weeks later, I spoke with the warranty company to ensure that the check was sent as they said. They informed me that the check was sent to CarTime and even provided a check number and verified that the check had been cashed on March 18, 2025! With this information, I called CarTime and was told by the new manager, ******, that someone would look into it. I have called for two weeks since then, and to date, April 23rd, 2025, CarTime is not acknowledging that they have received or cashed the check from my warranty company. I was told "corporate" is looking into it, and even with a check #, they can not locate the transaction. I asked both ****** and ****, whom I was referred to by ******, for a Phone number to reach out to "corporate," but ****** told me I couldn't get a number! **** told me I should try to find the number for "corporate" myself! He was very rude and dismissive! I am absolutely NOT pleased with this company, and I would very much like to resolve this issue. How could a check be cashed by a company, and yet no one has any information on the transaction? Someone authorized to cash checks had to cash it!!!Business Response

Transaction date 5/11/2024. Purchased a vehicle from this dealership only took the 30 day 1000 mile warranty commonly offered by dealers, after only 350 miles the transmission went out. I only drove the vehicle from the dealership to my home approximately 200 miles and used it another day about another 150 miles and failed. Called the dealer to let them know of the issue, ******* the salesperson was not working this particular weekend, so I asked the person that answered the phone to transfer me to the manager and said he was busy with customers left my number for him to call me and never did, called later the same day and was told the manager ****, was busy again with customers and told the phone person to tell me to take the car back I have a limited warranty. Asked to have **** call me to discuss the repair process still no call back. Tried calling the salesperson at the cell number she gave me and it was out of service. Transmission failed on a saturday so waited until monday and called the finance company since they had asked me earlier in the week if I had been treated good by the dealer. I called and told them the issue and they said they would contact the dealer and told me they will be canceling the deal with the dealer and told me to make arrangements to send the vehicle back. Emailed the salesperson ******* letting her know I was making arrangements, and someone responded who I believe was **** saying I couldn't return the vehicle and if I did the finance company would come after me and would be considered repossessed. Called back the finance companies manger *********************** and said that the finance company would not be coming after me because they are canceling the contract and getting their money back. After looking at reviews from this dealership this looks like a common practice for this company and its employees.Aside from the mechanical issue they listed several options on the vehicle it did not have and price charged was more than it was advertised.Business Response

To whom it may concern, on may 11th 2024 ****************** did purchase a previously owned 2015 Chevrolet Silverado vin: ***************** with a current odometer reading of ******* miles. ****************** was informed and acknowledged in writing that the manufactures warranty had expired due to time and mileage. ****************** was also informed that he as the prospective purchaser could have the vehicle inspected by an independent 3rd party prior to his purchase CarTime extended him that courtesy but he declined to do so. It was explained to and also endorsed by ****************** that the vehicle came with a LIMITED WARRANTY of 30 days or 1000 miles on the engine and transmission ONLY. That the warranty would cover 50% of the parts and 50% of the labor by a mechanic that CarTime regularly conducts business with which by way of the "BUYERS GUIDE" he agreed to and acknowledged in writing by endorsing it. ****************** also endorsed a statement of facts that CarTime did not provide towing or roadside assistance of any kind and that it would be his responsibility to drive or transport the vehicle to CarTime for any and all warranty work. ****************** was offered an extended service agreement that he declined in writing to purchase. ****************** did purchase the contract cancellation option agreement for $250 nonrefundable dollars, that agreement clearly states that ****************** purchased the right to return the vehicle within 48 hours by may 13th 2024 at 8:00pm and with 250 miles or less not to exceed 114,459 miles. CarTime's first contact post sale with ***************** was Monday May 20th 2024 11 days after the date of sale, when he called CarTime he was informed that yes, he did have a 30-day 1000-mile warranty on the engine and transmission only and that as he acknowledged in writing that it was his responsibility to drive or transport the vehicle to CarTime at *********************************************. It was at this point that ****************** became irate demanding and unreasonable, demanding that CarTime tow his truck to the nearest Chevrolet Dealership and pay them 100% of the cost to have a brand new transmission installed by factory technicians. CarTime reiterated to ****************** that he was currently covered by the LIMITED WARRANTY of 30 days or 1000 miles and that after proper inspection and diagnosis CarTime would honor and pay 50% of the parts and 50% of the labor if it was determined that the transmission was faulty. CarTime has tried to reach out to ****************** to try and resolve his issues to no avail. CarTime will honor anything and everything in writing it promised on the date of sale. Please see attached documentation and feel free to contact us directly for additional information
Sincerely,
CarTime ********

I am rejecting this response because: The dealers response is not accurate, the conversation I had with ******* (salesperson) I told her that I had gotten 3 quotes at local shops and of those 3 I had the preference of one particular shop that gave me the shortest repair time and the repairs would be for a remanufactured transmission.
I had never demanded for them to pay for the tow back to their dealer I explained to ******* that I had teo quotes $1500 and $1700 to have the vehicle towed back to their dealer and I would prefer to have it repaired in my town. There was never a mention of a Dealer or a new transmission to be utilized I am aware that would not be option.I also let her know because of their failure of getting back to me to address the issue until 3 days later and ******* contacted me only because I reached out to the credit Union to let them know of the Issue is when she reached out to me.
I emailed ******* after speaking with the manager at the credit union to let her know I would be towing the vehicle back to their dealership and I WOULD COVER the tow fee but to return the vehicle.
Manager at the ************ ************************* understood the issue and said he would contact the dealer to let them know they would be undoing the contract and asking for their money back.
After letting ******* know I was paying and towing the vehicle for that reason. I got an intimidating response telling me the credit union would come after me and it would be considered a repossession, I let ******************** at Tustin ************ know what the dealer said and he assured me that would not be the case since the were going to undo the deal.
That is where we stant as of 5/22/2024.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I had the vehicle towed at my expense and dealer advised they would contact me and its been 5 days since they've had the vehicle, I messaged ******* the salesperson requesting an update and no response. I want them to take back this vehicle, I do not trust this business handling any potential repairs.
They cant make good on an update they said they would do and I will not trust them to do a repair on a timely manner, this behavior is in line with all the negative complaints and reviews they have.

They obtain credit with false information on credit applications. And tell the customer what to say when verifying their information. The business is a scam and I strongly suggest it be investigated immediately. They charged me a $750 restock fee for their own fraudulent mistake. They are extremely crooked. The cars are not quality, and they ALL lie to the lenders. YES I will speak to the news media about this business.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
Cartime is Lying, they were caught committing dealer fraud , and as the client, consumer , I’m having to deal with everything this situation has caused. The Finance company “Challenge Financial” Vice President “***** ***” had to call me and apologize for the whole situation, Challenge closed to Account and removed the Open Loan from my credit report. I now want my 1,000$ deposit back, 300.00$ for the window tint, and compensation for the in convenience this whole ordeal has caused me and my family. I’ve never had to deal with this in my life. Dealer Fraud, Fraud, Predatory Business practices were not done by me, I have my receipt, the Banks input as well as the Police report I had to make due to how Car time is treating , while trying to get out of the situation they caused.Initial Complaint

I went to get a used car priced at 24,995. He gave me a credit union lender and requested a $2000.00 down payment deposit, 45 days later they want the car back because they lost my lender and will not return my $2000.00 deposit that was requested by lender, they asked me to lie to the lender about where I work at I was not comfortable so they said they would not return my money but want the car back or pay the actual cartime $759.00 for the monthly for the life of the loan payment that I never agreed to. The actual life of the contract is 4 years total amount financed was 48,000.00 when the car was priced at 24,995.00 I don’t know what kind of business this is but they took my deposit and want the car back or pay them directly when that’s not what I signed for on the contract.
