    I ordered a backpack on there, and someone wrote me stating that the last one they had was damaged and what other one would I like. I didn't respond, as I didn't read it until after I saw that it said delievered. I work from home, so I was surprised as I did not get it.I went to check the tracking number and the picture clearly showed it was not delivered to my address, as the door mat was pink (mine is black). After trying to contact them about it, they just kept saying it was delivered and offered me a refund if I sent back the item (that I never got). I then contacted ******, who I used to pay them and disputed charge. I spoke to ****** and they said that Mercari wasn't responding to them. They didn't respond until I told Mercari I was contacting them directly. A day later my case was closed due to them providing tracking info. However, this morning, I called ***** and confirmed that the address for that delivery did not match my name or address. As soon as I said Mercari, the representative told me he thinks I was scammed and told me to contact ****** again and have them contact *****. All of which I will be doing. In regards of Mercari, they don't answer the phones, they are unhelpful, clearly committing fraud/scamming. This place should not be allowed to operate. I have never experienced a worse consumer experience. Also, heads up Mercari, I have never not received a package at this location and if you took the time to look at the picture, you would see the address on there isn't even long enough to be mine. So, providing them with a false tracking number, is fraud.

    I wish there was an option to give zero stars. My experience with Mercari has been extremely frustrating. I attempted to return an item due to a legitimate issue, but both the seller and Mercaris customer service have been completely unhelpful. Despite multiple efforts to resolve the situation, I was met with silence and even got hung up on when I called their customer service line. Its incredibly disappointing to encounter such a lack of support from a platform that claims to prioritize buyer protection.

    Theeeee worst!! Does not protect buyers from fraudulent goods whatsoever!! They want me to do the leg work after clearly I was sold fake sneakers. Which by law should have to be destroyed, meanwhile this seller continues to scam and make money !! Should be taken down Im disgusted!

    I patronized ************************ for 5 years since the pandemic started,and abruptly as well unknown to them parted and went to greener pastures, we **** having them think I still with them providing my sale is completed with renumeration for me not just their empty words *********** can't be trusted .They test users out trying to use them before they can be of any help. The time spent and funds spent to sell are not worth the time on a individuals clock.Only sold items and not paid by them,they claim items damaged .All methods of empty words to support their false buyers they setup to sellers that use and damage the merchandise you sell and give nothing,no money back to sellers .All in all bottomline the scammers are the best scammers in the Internet block.Others doing the same and similar methods,I refused to use them,and moved in to greener pastures selling face to face.

    I have been a seller on Mercari since it was in Beta in 2016. I have 1537 five star reviews, 16 four start reviews, 19 three star reviews, 1 two star reviews. And 3 one star reviews. I say this for full transparency. I dont have a business, just a regular person who sells the items my family doesnt use anymore. I keep thinking this company is going to get better and it only gets worse. Their customer service is terrible for sellers. The take action with issues. *** take your earnings and then there is virtually NOTHING you can say to get your earnings back. Their responses are just canned responses that I assume come from a script somewhere. If there is an item that they deemed to be too heavy for the label that the seller produced they offer no proof or ability to argue with and just take your earnings. I have sold multiple things that I know I have not been overweight or oversized And they take my earnings claiming that they had to pay more for shipping. In addition to that they charge you the full amount of whatever they believe the shipping should be while still collecting the shipping that they charge the original buyer. They are double dipping, and no one receives refunds in that process, meaning, if they charge me full shipping, claiming it was overweight, they do not then go and refund the buyer the shipping they paid. They just keep everything. I cannot take it anymore. Im leaving this app. I would never recommend it to anyone, especially if youre not a person as it means nothing to them. My only ***** is that they wont be making any more money off of my items for my effort.

    On 6/12/25, I purchased a listing on Mercari that was intentionally disguised to hide the fact that the books I got were misrepresented from the books I believed I was getting. The listing title, description, and images were designed to deceive, and the price I paid ($235 which came to $267.50 after shipping and tax) was exorbitant given the actual item received.Upon receiving the item and realizing it was not as advertised, I submitted a return request with photo evidence and a clear explanation. My request was ********* attempt to recover my losses, I re-listed the exact same item using the sellers original wording and photos, as a way to fairly pass along the product. When the new buyer received the books, they submitted a return request and Mercari approved their return.

    I wanted to Leave a review of Mercari. I have been a customer since 2013 and have purchased over 600 items from this website. I've never had a problem getting a refund if an item was never shipped or the seller canceled. All the sudden they will not give me 2 refunds I'm due. One was ***** numerous emails saying contact my bank wait 30 days. My bank does not deal with 3rd party sellers and they just send me generic emails saying wait 40 days and saying I know it's frustrating. They just won't give me my refund. I have another one for only ***** same deal.I will not be buying anything from this website anymore. Stay far away from them

    On July 9, 2025, I purchased an item that I thought was a boho-style, redone designer handbag. I knew that the seller could not verify the authenticity, but the bag itself seemed to be otherwise as described. After receiving the handbag, I learned that it was actually a counterfeit item. I had no clue and NEVER would have purchased it if I had. Because I "marked" the item received (NEVER left a review), Mercari's policy supposedly states that it signifies that I was satisfied with my purchase, leaving them unable to step in and help? Never mind the fact that the Seller was ALLOWED to list a counterfeit item for sale. From their website:"What is a Counterfeit?A counterfeit is an illegal knockoff or replica version of another companys product. It usually copies the trademark (name or logo) and/or distinctive features of another companys product to imitate a genuine product. Counterfeit items are strictly prohibited on Mercari. The manufacture, promotion or sale of counterfeit goods is illegal and harmful to consumers, trademark owners, and honest sellers. Counterfeit items have a reputation for being lower quality (sometimes not working at all) and may even be unsafe. Please note that counterfeit goods are prohibited even if the seller explicitly says that the goods are counterfeit, or otherwise disclaims the authenticity of the goods."The customer service was of NO HELP at all. Not only did they refuse to acknowledge that the seller did anythign wrong per thier policy, but they said "While I can't reimburse you for this particular purchase, I recommend that you relist this item on Mercari if you would like to do so and then you can have a chance to run that money back or do with the item as you please." ***? They DO NOT have good standards and practice measures, and DO NOT stand behind their customers at all.

    **************** lacks and the shipping options they offer with certain carriers (*****) dont offer you any access to yout shipment. So if it's delivered to the wrong address.. tough.. tracking says delivered, and thats all they go by. Better off dealing with **** or stockx or any other major reselling platform.

    Absolutely terrible customer service. Their "policies" don't protect buyers or sellers, and are skewed to take money from both in any situation that requires customer service support. The app is clunky and confusing, leading to much chaos and there is no way to appeal any "decisions" they make without even considering the complaint. Absolutely terrible. Many ways to be stalked, harassed and ripped of with absolutely no protection or avenues to resolution.
