I accepted Spokeo's $0.95 one week free trial and go absolutely no info about two people that I could get on free public sites. I got a LOT of Spokeo offers for paid subscriptions of sites that would (supposedly) give me more, detailed info. As far as I'm concerned, Spokeo is nothing more than a platform to lead users to paid, more detailed websites.Spokeo, Inc. Response

Do NOT use Spokeo. It says absolutely free. No Fee. It's a lie. There is a free trial, but you still have to pay $0.95 per each one time search. I paid the $0.95 and the report was less accurate than info that I could give you. The current address was over 6 years old. I spoke with customer service and I gave them the current street, town, and state and they couldn't find the person's apartment number. They did refund my $0.95, so I will give them that. That's the only reason I can even give them one star.Spokeo, Inc. Response

I don't ever remember using this business. That being said, even if I did I used it or looked once and maybe possibly decided to try the $1 trial. But am suddenly being charged, with no approval for $29.99. I actually had to look them up and see who they are.I am telling people to avoid them and all companies like them. If you need to know information, research the company thoroughly you will use.Spokeo, Inc. Response

Discovered a recurring charge from Spokeo of $24.95 every month from February 2021 to June 2024, totaling over $1000.Never signed up for Spokeo!! This is a deceptive business practice from a scam company !! The report that I supposedly paid for was on a search of a name that I did not recognize. So I know it wasnt done by me!Talked with them on the phone. Manager #1 said the max ****** they could give was $29.94! Ask to speak to their manager: Manager #2 said the max ****** was $299.40! Manager #3 said ********** was $598.80! That was supposedly the highest level manager.Ill be pursuing getting the remainder (~$400) back somehowReview from Rosalyn A

Deceptive practices- they will allow you to make a search of information then tell you the price is .95 cent. That seems reasonable for the small amount of information they provide. Then 7 days later you are hit with a $29.99, monthly subcription. They do not tell you this before hand, beware.Spokeo, Inc. Response

This company has nothing to offer that is up to date. Their information isn't even accurate. I couldn't even pull my info and theres 191 social sites they pinned to my husband, none of which come closer than 4 yrs ago and theres about 175 of those arent him or even the same ***. ****** pulls more accurately, and its free! They are cons...they have a U! For Unsatisfactory in my grade book.Spokeo, Inc. Response

Absolutely DO NOT USE this company. Saw the $0.95 background check..no indications that I was about to be swindled..used it for a ONE TIME background check. Went about my day..8months later, PayPal notified me that this company is charging me $29.95/month (WHAT?!).even worse they have been charging me for MONTHS. I didnt even know what company this was and had to look them up on ******* I certainly did not sign up for no auto payments. I canceled the auto payments and called them. At first they tried to say they cannot find my account.I had to reinforce that I see all the information and my information was accurate. Then she found me. I was only refunded for this month(maybe because it was same day transaction), but I called PayPal right away and notified them that no service was exchanged nor did I use their services beyond the first and only time.
