    Spokeo falsely advertises free reverse phone lookup. It is not free. Do not be fooled, and don't waste your time! Zero stars!

    The company scams you by charging you an unnecessary subscription for $29.95. I opted to get a single ***ort where I unticked or selected the option that made it pretty clear that I did not want a subscription. What did Spokeo do? They charged me for the subscription anyways. I call the company and told them I did not want a subscription in the first place. So, the service *** cancels the service and tells me he can only refund $11.98, and not the full amount. Why just $11.98 and not the full amount? After that I talked to my card company who is disputing the charges. So, why can spokeo only refund $11.98 instead of the full amount for a subscription I clearly said I did not want? *************, please avoid like the plague. ***, do whatever it takes, take action. These scammers are counting on your inaction. This douchebag of a company should not be allowed to get away with this.

    Im trying to take my information off this site and find it impossible to do so. Their Opt Out procedure requires you to copy your own url from their site and when I did, the form tells me it is not valid. I think this site should be disabled from selling peoples information!

    On April 7, 2025, I was looking for a way to make a search on a particular number that keeps bothering me. I was looking for a free service to do that one-time search on the number. Spokeo **** offered $0.95, which I made a one-time payment for. On April 16, 2025, I realized they had saved my payment information and had taken $29.95 from my account through ******. I contacted them for a full refund, but they won't refund me. Upon back and forth, they decided to give me $11.98. This is a fraudulent company, and I entreat everyone to be careful when doing business with them.

    Just like everyone else I paid $.95 not knowing I was signing up for a subscription. I cancelled the payment and was charged anyway after the one-week trial period. I disputed this with ******. I don't know what Spokeo told them, but ****** ruled in their favor. I've appealed because my account with ********************** clearly states on a big teal banner across my account page that the trial was cancelled and I have no subscription with them and cannot use the services they charged me for on 3/31/25. The shady practice of tiny print to get you onto a subscription service you didn't want (the trial text is way smaller that the one-time fee text) is bad enough, but this makes me furioius. I canceled, was charged, denied use of service. I have the screencaps of my account and I've sent them to ****** in an appeal.This is a warning to everyone using Spokeo- cancelling the trial doesn't work and if you dispute it with ****** you will lose the $29.99 plus the service you unwittingly paid for.

    I paid $.95 for one time. Unknowingly this signed me up for a monthly charge that they never made clear. I have now been charged for four months. I paid through ****** so no initial receipt nor document re recurring charges. Now, after complaining, they only want to refund me for a small portion of the $120 I am out of pocket. Its a despicable way to do business.

    This is definitely a scam. I was told it was going to only be $0.95 and ended up being charged $30 a week later. Nowhere did it say that ** have to pay that. I filed a dispute over 48 hours ago and we are still waiting on a response from spokeo. I want my money back.

    This company started charging me a membership fee without my permission. Very criminal and deceptive. I work in the medical field and see people perform and help others daily. Then you have people like this, who spend their time trying to take $30 dollars from someone. Parasites.
