    TLDR: My dog became extremely ill and we almost had to put him down. The owner, ******, was rude, lacked empathy, and was defensive. Long story: I boarded my dog for 4 days. When I dropped him off he was perfectly healthy. I overheard the women at the front desk talking about how a client had to pick up their dog that had died while in this facility. My dog he got extremely sick and almost died from a severe infection that we suspect occurred at this facility due to lack of cleanliness. When I picked him up and asked the front desk how he was during his stay, they just answered "good." He had no strength, could not stand at all, could not even lift his head, the only way I could even tell he was alive was I could see him still breathing. We rushed him to the emergency vet. Fortunately we managed to afford the high cost of hospitalization and treatment, some people might not have been able to and would have chosen to put their dog down. This experience was so traumatic for our dog and to us. After finding out that the cause was a bacterial infection we called the facility to inform them, we were told that the owner would get back to us. It took ****** 48hrs to return our calls. Our concerns were the health of our dog and other pets being boarded, ensuring safety and cleanliness, and discussing their protocols. However, ****** was immediately defensive and lacked any empathy of the situation. He was talking about lawsuits and avoiding answering my questions and speaking over me. At first he stated that there have always been protocols in place for cleaning and sanitizing, however then later says he "needs to check". He also reported that no other animals have gotten sick, however when we asked if he checked in on or informed any of his clients of the possible spread of infection he said "well I haven't heard anything." It is very troubling that ****** was so dismissive and did not seem to care about the safety and health of the animals in his care.
