I purchase a 2008 **** Granite triaxle dump truck from Iron Planet last week 3/18/25. The truck was ***orted to be in good working order garanteed by their ******************* I took the ***ort at face value and basically ended up w a truck that wouldn't begin to pass a DOT inspection. I call Iron Planet immediately when I saw the problems and their *** said that I could not leave the truck there or it would be considered "abandoned" and would be resold and that there was no way to reach anyone about a dispute via phone and only through a dispute from. So I ***laced a few parts and "limped" it to our yard. Now the dispute manager claims that I voided the ****************** by removing from the yard and taking with me. Totally unprofessional. I will not do further business with a company like this. I would also highly recommend others to look elsewhere for trucks and equipment.Business Response

Regarding the complaint:
We have ICA (iron clad assurance) to protect the buyer in situations like this. After reviewing the case it seemed their was a miscommunication or the buyer did not want to follow the necessary steps to dispute the item. The dispute team would have to review this case and have the final say on whether the buyer is eligible for a refund

I purchased a cat 272c skid steer relying heavily on iron planets iron clad assurance meaning they have inspected the machine and have given their best opinion on conditions and if its drastically different they will stand by the inspection. I have done this several tiling with no issues before until this purchase. First issue after purchasing I could not get any reliable onsite contact to schedule pickup and ended up sending 2 different shippers to pick up blindly because after numerous attempts of contacting iron planet they were no help. First truck turned around due to lack of support, second truck was willing to figure it out. Second and biggest issue is the machine was rated as operational for its age and hours and not in immediate repair. That is definitely not the case, the shipper had lots of issues loading due to a failure in the drive terrain and once delivered it was obvious in less that ******************************************************* operable condition and needed immediate repair. I filled a claim on iron clads assurance policy and was denied. I called to talk to the manager that denied it *** ******, he was immediately disrespectful and would not listen or talk to me. Kept telling me that I waited to long and I violated the iron clad assurance policy because I started working on the machine, even though the claim form requested proof that repairs were needed, cost, and requested resolution. Hard to do that without working on it. Then he told me I had the machine for 21 days which was not the case, it had been that long since purchased, but due to lack of support to pick up I only had the machine 4 days before I filed claim. He then told me you got a good enough deal that, you can make the repairs on your own, its not a warranty. I have tried calling iron planet a few times to try and talk to someone else and get put on hold for hours to just get hung up on. I have spent countless time looking used parts striking out. On 9/16/2024 I purchased a Skid Steer on auction for $27,000. They were supposed to inspect it and they state they have an Iron Clad guarantee. I filed a complaint at the end of September for fraudulent damaged that was intentionality covered up by the seller, (Not Iron Planet) they were simply the auction house that inspected and facilitated the transaction. They said they would get back to me and have not. I have emailed them three times now they will not send me the title it has been two months.Business Response

Upon review, we confirmed that the customer submitted a dispute, which was reviewed by our Inspection Disputes team. After a investigation, the team determined that the dispute could not be approved. This decision was based on information provided by the customer, which indicated that the machine was operated for 11 hours without oil being added after delivery and while in the customer's possession. I purchased item# ******** from the July 9th auction. I promptly paid all fees, to include shipping fees. I was, within 24 hrs, given a ***** shipping tracking number(276856473983). The status for the tracking number is "Label created" its been "Label created" for over 2 weeks now.I contacted the company multiple time and submitted several "Contact Us" inquiries. Today I was able to speak with someone, they took my information and contacted me back. They stated that the item was shipped on the 19th and that ***** probably hasn't scanned the item. This was left on my voicemail. I was also told in the voicemail that I would need to contact ***** for all further inquires. ***** will no give me any information other that they have not received the package and that they are still awaiting the item, "Label Created".I contacted the company again and am just getting the run around. We reviewed the customers concerns and contacted ***** for additional information. As of 07/29/24 we filed a claim with ***** since they have not yet been able to locate the package. Once a final decision is made we will move forward with getting our customer his item or issuing a full refund if the item is not available. As this is an on going investigation we have offered the customer a credit to cover the shipping costs for this item. Vehicle was purchased at auction with Iron Clad warranty upon arrival traveling from **** to **** the vehicle was sold from a 3rd party storage lot very inconvenient to pick up. arrived and vehicle would not start had to call AAA to diagnose and make the vehicle operational unable to restore headlights on site and ended up driving **** miles back home with check engine light and only one head lamp. took the vehicle to shop for diagnosis and filed complaint with Iron Planet ******* closed out the dispute before allowing for me to submit the cost of repairs. when I contacted him with the information he did not respond. this was a 2013 Jeep Patriot Vin ***************** cost to repair ****** this expense would have been much higher had I not traveled to pick the vehicle up and could have been a complete lossBusiness Response

Our disputes team received and reviewed the buyers claim for his purchased item. Our disputes team requested receipts for diagnostic charges the buyer may have acquired before transporting the item. Due to us not receiving a follow up from the customer within the allotted time the dispute was closed and the customer was notified as to why. Upon pickup of the item I had won it was noted that a significant amount of damage was not represented in photos of the item. The photos were taken in such a way that it cropped out the damages. Additionally the year of the item listed was not correct upon further investigation. Numerous attempts have been made to contact customer service and file a claim with the in house insurance provider that is supposed to cover any unexpected damages ( ironclad insurance. ). No one has responded to phone calls and emails, the damages excide over $6000.Business Response

An agent also informed the customer that some of the complaints were shown in the pictures for all customer to view before submitting a bid, and some were not covered by the IronClad Assurance.

I purchased a dozer for $60,813 from ******, ** location. I requested to try out the machine before purchasing and was told that it was under their assurance program and was covered for 90 days incase anything was not working properly. So, there was no need to try out the dozer before purchasing. When I sent out a truck to pick up the machine it was not working. I hired a service tech which cost me an extra $1,500 to check it out and found there is metal in the hydraulic pump as well as the batteries were not working. IronPlanet denied the claim and said that the hydraulic was not covered under their assurance program. The problem is still unresolved, and the dozer is still sitting at their location. On 08/24/23. I bought a Trencher that had ******************* The opening page estates that the meter reading is 179hrs. When the machine was delivered to me it did not start or had that meter reading on it, and a lot more damages on it. Having only 24hrs to report item from receiving the item. I contacted the ****************** and explained what was happening, they told me to send pictures, So I did. This Is What they replied, ( As we spoke, please send me a current video of the hour meter with the machine running, and also a diagnosis of what is going on with the unit from a mechanic shop. Once received, I can evaluate what Ironclad may potentially cover, or will not. This request has a 72-hour response time associated with it. Any delays past the ****************************************************************** denial of the dispute.) So, I did get a repair shop to get it running with an estimate of the repairs that It needed. I sent a video with the damages, hour meter and a repair estimate to iron clad assurance, two weeks later I received a call from ironclad assurance stating there was nothing they could do about it.
