I hired the ********** of **** A Guthrie in 2020 for a divorce. I paid them $5,000 and they said they could get it done for that. A while went by and they said they needed more money so I maxed out another credit card for another $5,000 mid 2020 and said that is it, I can no longer afford any more. Months went by and the last $5,000 that was in the "bank" ran out and we were nowhere near finalizing the divorce so i said "stop working" i can't afford anymore". I ended up finalizing the divorce myself ,**** self help and they continue to send a bill for services i told them i didn't want. They just sent me a bill for $1,826.48 with $26.26 interest. They send me a bill that's growing every month. I really should ask for money back as i don't feel they did anything. this should all be in 2020. I can dig and get specific dates if needed.

*************** to this complaint, and dispute his allegations.   ****************** refused to pay for our services and racked up a bill of almost $2,000.  As far as I recall, he did not like the results of the work performed by my associate, and we parted ways.  He still has an outstanding bill with us.  My associate would be able to provide more detail, but suffice it to say, that ****************** was very difficult to deal with, and I believe my associate *******************, Esq., performed his duties very well.

    Regards,

    **** Guthrie, Esq.

I am rejecting this response because: I was told that they could get everything done for me for 5k. After paying them at least 10k i came in and cleared my bill and told them to stop working my case because i wouldn't afford anymore. They then started a accruing bill that i did not authorize. I tried contacting them many times and got no response. I'm sure you can tell by how long they took to respond to the BBB. I did pay way too much for services provided but these charges are for unauthorized work.

    Sincerely,
