    I signed up for Evernote and attempted to delete the account on the same day that it was downloaded (4/7/2025). I did not receive any introductory emails or communications when I signed up, so I did not think it odd that I didnt receive communication when I cancelled my subscription. The next week, I was charged $211.99, which is more than any of the plan prices listed on the company website. At that point, I attempted to cancel again and deleted my account. I am unable to reach the business because my account was deleted, so I cannot sign in to submit a ticket or pursue a refund. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company but have not been successful reaching the business to dispute this charge.

    Hello,

    Please note that our our Account deletion article and the Privacy form used to submit deletion requests highlight the requirement that subscriptions be canceled prior to deleting the account. This step wasn't performed.

    Weve gone ahead and processed a full refund as requested, of which we have notified the user.

    We confirm that the account is currently in the process of being permanently deleted and no further charges will be incurred.

    Evernote exhibits subscription policies that are unethical; Ive been requesting to cancel a subscription and have been charged monthly for the past 6+ months.The company offers no method to cancel the subscription.

    Thank you for reaching out regarding your subscription concerns. After reviewing our records, I was able to locate the two support tickets you previously submitted.


    It appears that you did not receive further assistance with your subscription cancellation because the automated replies to your requests included instructions on how to proceed for additional support. Unfortunately, as those steps were not followed, your case did not progress beyond the initial automated response.


    Regarding your request for a refund, I see that your first request to cancel and refund the subscription was submitted on October 26, while the monthly subscription was renewed on October 4. As per our refund policy, cancellations must be requested within 2 days for monthly payments and within 60 days for annual payments. Because your request fell outside this window, we are unable to refund the October charge. However, I have refunded the past five months of charges and canceled your subscription effective immediately.


    Additionally, I want to clarify that the subscription in question was tied to a different email address: ch**ie.e*el@o*******. I have partially obscured the domain name for security and privacy reasons.


    I appreciate your understanding, and I apologize for any frustration this has caused. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out.

    I was charged on January 31 for a service I did not want. I cannot reach out to customer service by phone, email, or online chat. The original account is deleted, and there is no way for me to delete an unwanted subscription. I did not want to on this page and complain, but I am hoping this will help me resolve the issue.

    Evernote is a program that stores data. About 3 weeks ago it stopped working. All i get when I try to get on is several different colored objects swirling on the screen. Evernote has no published phone number and they won't call you. I have sent several emails to their customer service and i get either no response or cut and paste responses. They asked for a screen shot. I sent it several times and asked what does it mean. I got no response. I have the paid version of Evernote and expect some customer service.I need my data. I assume it is on the cloud somewhere

    The user initially reached out to our support team regarding an account access issue. From the provided screenshot, it appeared that they were trying to log in via a mobile web browser. Our team responded with a clear explanation that Evernote Web is not optimized for mobile browsers and advised the user to download the ******************** mobile app for the best experience. We also requested additional troubleshooting details, including device information and activity logs, in case the issue persisted. However, the user did not reply to our request for further information.


    We want to assure both the user and the ******************** that we are happy to continue troubleshooting and resolve the technical issue. To do so, we need the user to confirm whether the error occurs in a mobile browser or within the Evernote app. If they are experiencing the issue in the app, we kindly request their activity logs so we can investigate further.


    Additionally, we can confirm that we replied to the users ticket and provided instructions for next steps.


    Regarding the payment dispute mentioned in the complaint, wed like to clarify that the transaction in question occurred in October and falls outside of Evernotes refund policy.

    I had a free Evernote account for years, had not used it for some time so I decided to close and delete the account. I couldn't do this without renewing my login credentials, there was no way to contact evernote without logging in. When I did this Evernote wanted me to signup for a subscription, I believe I had a free trial period - I was not concerned as I was only signing in to delete the account, which I did. A little while later I was a charge on my credit card and was instantly annoyed, I tried to contact Evernote but of course, without an account, I couldn't do so. I didn't receive a receipt or email regarding the charge. After some effort, I managed to find an email address but it probably went into the ether, I've had no reply. This has been very frustrating and a waste of my time! Evernotes practices are shady, as far as I'm concerned, why didn't i get an email about my account, why are you hiding Evernote? Why can't a person contact you without an account? If this was simply an error, then fix it!

    I was one of the first ***** of Evernote. I recommended it to many people. I just had a serious problem w/ Evernote. They never had a tel # to call for problems. Now they will not answer e-mails. Their web answers are inadequate.I have all my most important information in Evernote. I rely upon it. They owe ***** a way to communicate.

    Evernote was installed on my computer and had to be immediately cancelled. The Livescribe pen was no longer supported on its platform. The app was uninstalled and subscription immediately cancelled however, they went ahead at the end of the 1 week trial and withdrew funds through my ****** account. I am requesting an immediate refund due to this breakdown in their platform communications.

    <>: I requested a refund and it went completely ignored, still have yet to receive any contact from evernote in any of my tickets (no phone or live chat support options). I stopped using evernote when I requested my refund. I have sent 4 tickets, and even had my original ticket 'escalated' by an Evernote forum volunteer. I never received any refund or any ***lies.<>:On January 6th, 2024 my subscription was auto renewed at CAD $179.19. This is almost double previous subscription. Per their refund policy "Evernote will process a refund if the request is received within sixty days of the date of the payment".Feb 23, 2024: I requested a refund by sending a ticket. I also stopped using Evernote. I was reading in their forum refunds where a few weeks if not month behind for all English request.March: I requested my ticket escalated on forum (they have forum volunteers which could escalate tickets, and some people had luck)April: Still nothing. I spent some time exploring evernote, attempting to find any possible way to communicate with a person (email, chat, phone, etc). Only method found was the ticket system and evernote forum which contains voluenteers.June 29: Still no refund or contact. Started reddit post. Explained my situation. Some sort of evernote *** suggested I open another ticket. August: ****** three different tickets. Never got a response to any of them. Also tried the evernote forum again, but that did not help.

    After checking your case, we regret to inform you that we're unable to issue a refund in this instance as our refund policy requirements are not met: under the terms of our Refund Policy, subscriptions are only refundable within the first 60 days of an annual payment, and no prorated refunds or credits are offered for partially used subscriptions. 

    While we're unable to process a refund, you can cancel the automatic renewal so you are not charged again next year. To cancel the automatic renewal of your Evernote subscription, please follow these steps:
    Navigate to your Evernote Account Settings and view the Account Summary.
    Select Manage Subscription next to Account Level.
    From the options shown, select Free.
    Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Downgrade to Free.
    Select a reason for canceling the subscription
    Click the Cancel subscription button.

    Your subscription won't change until your current billing cycle ends. Once your subscription runs out, your account will automatically be converted to a Free membership. None of your data will be lost, and all of your content will still be accessible.

    Logged into my account today and was informed could only sync one device. so I disconnected all but one device. When I did get into my account, all notes from several years were gone.     If you're using a Gmail address for Evernote, please note that while Gmail doesn't differentiate the following differences:
    Emails with dots in their names and those without them. For example, emails directed to **************************** or ***************************************** would be sent to the same address
    Same for the email suffix (@********* versus @**************)
    But our system does and would treat them as separate accounts
    If you have an Apple device, it's possible that you might have created an account on ******************** by logging in with ***** and enabling the Hide My Email.
