1 starStayed at Mission Inn for a conference. Beautiful hotel, but bad room. Absolutely no internet connectivity. The shower died during the bath. I had to come out with soap on my body, dress, and go downstairs to report the issue. When it rains, the ceiling starts dripping water all over. The worst thing: They overcharged me 30$ extra per night (for 4 nights). They could not fix the issue while checking in, at the time of checking out as well. It has been one month since then, but no communication from their side despite emails/phone messages every day for pats one month. The management and people at front desk don't care.ABSOLUTELY UNPROFESSIONAL!Review fromJesicah H

1 starThis hotel is a disappointment, to say the least! The experience with hotel management was incredibly frustrating, especially considering it was our honeymoon. Our room's air conditioning was inadequate, and despite the presence of multiple technicians, only one was attending to the issue. Upon approaching the front office, we were informed that our room shouldn't have been cleared initially. They offered a substitute room with two queen **** instead of the king we had booked, prompting us to relocate our belongings at 1:00 am. ****** at the front desk did try to accommodate us and left us roses on the bed in our new room. No manager was available and he apologized over and over. The following day, we canceled our spa plans to address the situation with a manager, who was unavailable until 3:00 pm. Despite waiting until 8:00 pm to finally meet with them after dinner, our concerns were not fully addressed. We requested printed notes from previous discussions, but the manager claimed it couldn't be done. We read reviews that referred to the notes and the staff claiming to put items in but did not. We were then directed to the director of hotel management for further assistance the next morning at 9:00 am. Unfortunately, no satisfactory resolution was reached, aside from changing rooms.During our conversation with *******, the director of hotel management, she attributed the ** issue to the hotel's historic nature. Although she offered to adjust the room rates due to our troubles, we were already charged for the full amount. Despite reducing the rate to $189 for two nights from the initial $389 per night, after factoring in various charges, our total refund amounted to a mere $45.This disappointing experience has led us to vow never to return to this hotel, and we cannot in good conscience recommend it to others. I hope sharing this review prevents others from enduring a similarly ruined honeymoon.Review fromCarley H

1 starThey cancelled our reservation while we were in line to check in and then LIED to us and said that "Expedia" cancelled it. Nice try. We didn't book through Expedia. We booked through Hotels.com, and according to Hotels.com, they didn't cancel ANYTHING. The whole interaction (where we stayed in the lobby going back and forth between the front desk and Hotels.com for 45 minutes) was incredibly frustrating. We booked weeks before for my sister and I to celebrate our mom's birthday with her and at one point were in tears at the front desk while they heartlessly told us we had no reservation and would have to contact our booking agency. Our booking agency was incredibly apologetic and offered to get us another room, which we didn't want. When we went to the front desk to try to get a room directly through them we were finally given the real answer--there were no rooms available. Cool. So someone came and offered them full price for a room and they just axed our reservation like we're nothing. And after all of that, being lied to and put through the wringer and missing our dinner reservation, we got nothing but a blank stare and "I apologize" from the guy at the desk who acted like this was no big deal at all. They didn't even offer to refund us for the parking fee. It was such a gross experience.A quick ****** revealed that this is apparently common practice. Mission Inn seems to be systematically cancelling reservations made through third-parties and giving those rooms to people who book through their own website or in-person.Review fromSadie M

1 starPredatory nickel and diming, trashy rooms and loud music all through the night. Completely overpriced and clearly riding on the coattails of an old reputation. This place is a historical landmark and surely survives on gimmick alone. The A/C didn't work and no one did anything. The room was 300$ and the only things that were included were two small bottles of water and basic toiletries. Tacky decor and extremely unprofessional service. If this place had a more reasonable price point it wouldn't feel so evil but when you pay 13$ for a single room service waffle and have to pay 4$ to add blueberries on top of the 5$ delivery fee and tip it's hard to think of another word. I'm completely stunned that they are allowed to get away with the service and amenities they provide at the exorbitant prices they ask for. Spending my anniversary here was an embarrassing and expensive mistake.Review fromCurtis R

We just got done with dinner at the mission inn. Absolutely horrible. They at first canceled our reservations. Then gave them back for 800pm. But they don't cook any fresh food after 7 according to the server. Al we got were left over crap. All of the food was cold. There was discarded food all over the floor in which I slipped on. and at 72-00 per person we were ripped off. And should be compensated in some manner. The food we ate wasn't worth 20 dollars let alone 72 a pierce fir 4 people. Horrible. And they don't offer a veteran discount you should be ashamed of yourselvesThe Mission Inn Hotel & Spa

1 starWhat a horrible experience! I previously lived in Riverside where I served on the BOD for Riverside Chamber, frequently saw Duane and Kelly at City Council meetings ect. I'm shocked at the terrible service I've received from the Mission Inn. Tonight I phoned to book two adjoining suites, there was no hold music or announcement regarding the wait time (call was at 7:35pm). after holding for several minutes with radio silence I hung up and phoned back, this time I pressed zero for the front desk who explained the reservations people were out until 8pm and I should phone back then. I told her that was not the expected service level and then she simply told me it didn't matter and proceeded to hang the phone up. I'm truly shocked at the shamefully terrible level of service and regret Kelly and Duane no longer seem to be interested in their little money maker.Review fromGina G

1 starStayed here for a night for our daughters graduation. Needed to be up early and there was a Party with DJ outside our room. Called to ask when it would be ending at 10:00 pm, was told it goes until midnight. The best they could offer us were ear plugs. Like seriously who plans something like that when guests are trying to sleep. Poor planning and at the very minimum tell your guests what’s going on so they have an option to move or go elsewhere. Nice pretty hotel, not the best by any means and would not recommend if you want to rest or have to get up early. They seriously don’t care about the guests.Review fromRed M

1 starOn July 13th, after a very long day of driving 7 hours through heavy traffic, we stopped for the night in Riverside to stay at what my associate remembered as being a "fabulous place"....The Mission Inn. We checked in w/2 separate rooms under 2 names but billed to 1 credit card...that of my associate. The rooms were charged at: $347.00 & $ 338.45 respectively. My associate had a room on the 3rd floor & I was on the 2nd. We were both exhausted but decided to go for dinner in the lobby before we turned in for the night where we also spent a good deal of money...the waiter completely mixing up the bills at the end of the evening and then joking with us that he'd "had too much tequila" earlier. Okay....leave it at that. We both went to our rooms for the night. The noise of traffic on my side of the building was hideous...but okay...I just needed a hot bath & sleep, & I shut the curtains as much as they were allowed to be shut. After checking my business emails and closing for the night, I went to run a bath....much needed for the difficult day we'd just had. NO HOT WATER! I let it run for awhile hoping it would heat up...but nothing, NO HOT WATER all night long! Then...as I got into bed...a loud & drunk couple stopped at my door & tried to get in....over & over they tried the key card & door....until finally they made it to the NEXT door & went inside. From there on the night only got worse. They proceeded to have sex loudly for hours, their bed right at the wall where my bed was. What a NIGHTMARE! No reading, no sleep, no hot bath...NO WORKING PHONE by the bed. Again this is a $350.00/night room folks! I used my cell to complain to the front desk & spoke again w/them in the am. I made several complaints. At first the room as credited back....then the charges were put back on. I'm disgusted! People need to know how the Mission Inn is now being run. The guests are certainly no longer a priority in any way shape of form. BE CAREFUL! Absolutely hideous treatment!
