The dealer wants 10k for a new engine and I have now spent roughly 5k and counting on rental car fees. Auto nation Roseville is where I bought the car and bought the service contract. Auto nation stated I did nothing wrong except I brought the car to sac dodge instead of their shop. My service contract shows a $200 deductible if I bring it to sac dodge vs $100 if I drove to the Roseville auto nation. Auto nation told me for months not to hire an attorney that I did nothing wrong. After months they declined my coverage. The water pump failed which is covered under the service contract. The water pump failure caused engine failure. ***********'s service contract approved the 1k water pump but not the 10k for a new engine. This was October 10th everything I have done in this process was recommended by auto nation employees. Except drive the car to Roseville (15miles) now they state that because the car is at sac dodge, they cant help me. I have multiple emails and text messages. Most of the employees from *********** have left that store during this process stating I should get a lawyer that I am getting screwed including the person I bought the car from and the head of the service department. The car is currently at Sac Dodge coming on 5 months and they now want to charge me docking fees. This was the platinum service contract that *********** recomends. The car is a 2020 Jeep grand Cherokee. **** has now offered me $7500 towards the repair costs because of the way auto nation handled things. I would still need to come up with $2500 to finish the engine plus the roughly 5k I have spent on a rental car since October 10th 2024. All of which should be covered under the service contract I purchased from ***********. It took auto nation almost 4 months to say no. They strung me along knowing I was incurring rental car costs. I would not recomend buying a car from here or a service contract. I paid $3600 for mine. Was not worth it.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. This case is under review. We will provide a response within ***** business hours.

    Thank you.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 03/26/2025

I am rejecting this response because:

I am respding to let you know nothing has been done. My car  is still at the dealer and is not fixed. Jeep came up to 8k because autonation handled this so poorly. The problem is that the sac dodge dealer wants 10k to fix the problem that the auto nation said they would cover then backed out of. I have spent 5k on rental car costs since 10/10/2024. I still do not have my car.

Auto Nation has not been returning my calls and said they can not help me and wont.

Here is the email from senior management at ***********. He stated I drove the car blocks. which is not true.

You can see below that they are back tracking on what they told me... They have had multiple employee's leave during this process and tell me they would be witnesses if you would like. **** the person he mentioned told me it was approved to be fixed. **** has since left the store because they keep doing this to people. You can call him if you would like.

    Mr. *****,

I apologize for any confusion.  My communication with **** and **** was simply that I would be happy to get involved to see what I could do. Unfortunately, after running it up the chain I was unable to overturn the claim denial.  My findings were apparently not provided to you. Here is the current state of the situation, the service contract prohibits the continued operation of a vehicle when the vehicle is overheating.  They stated that the communication with them was that the vehicle was driven several blocks afterwards.  The vehicle was then broken down without preapproval.  Unfortunately, we do not have any leverage to get this denial overturned based on what the VSC administrator has already been told.  I wish I had better news for you.  My recommendation is to have the service department where your vehicle is located work with the administrator to see if they can come to some sort of agreement to cover the claim at a reduced reimbursement.  I cannot guarantee that they will do so however if the vehicle were in our service department that would be our next step.

    Sincerely,

    ***** *. Hutmacher

I bought a Dodge 2018 Ram 1550 with VIN ***************** on March 09, 24 for $29,000 and a warranty from them valid until 2027 for $5658.00. Form #****** Deal #****** customer #*******. Two months later, in May 2024 the radiator broke (and the warranty covered it except $200 deductible). Then in June the electrical system broke down and I had to pay $1200 and the warranty did not cover it. In November 22, 2024 the motor broke and they said they had to change the motor and it is still in the shop as of 1/17/2025 and they say the warranty doesn't want to pay and they wont fix it. In a matter of 4 days it will be a total of 60 days in the shop already.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. The required heater core repair will be covered by the customer's warranty. Regarding the engine replacement, an agreement was made with the customer to discount the engine replacement cost from $15,000 to $10,000. Also, 50% of the cost will be covered by the dealership, leaving $5,000 as the cost of repairs for the customer.

    Thank you.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 01/30/2025

I am rejecting this response because: I paid more than $5000 for the warranty so perhaps you could consider repurposing that fee to pay this share of the motor replacement. You sold a $30,000 truck and a $5000 warranty to me and it has been broken since buying it. I clean houses for a living and not having a truck has resulted in months of business disruption and loss of income for myself and several employees that depend on it to get to our clients. Please do the right thing and fix the motor or replace the vehicle with one that works (of comparable value). Or refund me for the warranty that is of no value and we can use that money to fix the motor. Please end this disruption. We would like this to be handled immediately as it has been in your shop for over 2 months now. Thank you for considering.

I bought a jeep wrangler on July 13 2024 and the transmission gave out October 22 2024. Only had the vehicle over 3 months before major repairs were needed. The quote for repairs is $5500 + tax.

I have a 2020 Jeep Wrangler under warranty. I had it towed to the nearest dealer. It could not be moved because it was stuck in park and service transmission error code was flashing. The jeep would not turn off internal lights and headlights. 3 days later, ***** calls and says the battery is dead, and in order to do a diagnostic, I had 2 options; 1. Go buy a battery, bring it to the dealership, change it out for them 2.) I could pay $500 for them to put in a new battery. I reminded ***** of the video I sent him regarding the errors and lights not turning off thus draining the battery after sitting on his lot for 3 days. He told me that he was just going to escalate this then. This is a dealership that gets paid by JEEP to do warranty work trying to scam me out of money. I told him not to touch my vehicle. I am seeking a different dealer to do the warranty work. I do not trust *****. Then he sent me a text for his managers number ************ for ***********************. After a quick search online, that name and number does not match, nor is it affiliated with this dealership.

5/24/2024 I had the routine maintenance done, and the dash has a bunch of trouble lights on it. the maintenance department charged me for the contract covered maintenance, and did not do anything about the problems when the auto is clearly still under the warranty. the vehicle has under ***** miles on it.

I purchased a 2022 Ram 2500 truck on 2/27/24. I was unaware that the tires were for a passenger vehicle until I took it to a tire shop to have rims installed and they were unable to do it because they said the tires werent made for that big of a vehicle. I have not contacted the dealer.

I made the mistake of taking my vehicle to this location for a recall fix on my vehicle. Literally, 1 min after dropping the vehicle off I began to receive communications about both extending my warranty or buying/trading in my vehicle. I have now on 7 different occasions over 3 years asked to be removed from any form of communications by contacting Autonation Dodge directly. But I still receive constant mailers that intentionally look like delinquent notices and constant other forms of communication. I attempted to contact them again today 2/14/2024 and was informed by a lady in the service that it has something to do with corporate before hanging up. I am filing harassment charges with regards to this business tomorrow as well.

We took our car in to get an engine diagnostic and all we got was a $250 bill for an inspection about random things we dont even want inspected. A engine inspection wasn't completed and we were asked to pay another $1500 to inspect the engine. I paid the $250 just to get my car back and want it refunded because ZERO requested work done!!! If I would have been told an engine diagnostic cost $1500 as I initially requested I would have never wasted 4 days of my time and would have never been fraudulently dooped into the initial $250 scam fee they charged me!!!

I took my 2015 jeep Cherokee to have a recall service done on 2/14/23. They gave me a time line it would be done around 4:30-5. I called them, they said they had trouble getting a bolt off and said it would be done by 2/15/23 in the afternoon. When we get there, they said they broke something and had to wait for parts. So, they said they would get a rental car for us. Gets back to us that the rental place has no dodges but they said they would pay $25 and we pay $15 on a non-dodge vehicle. Then we get to the rental place and they tell us that the cost for the rental would be $80, $30 for the rental and $50 for deposit., which was not disclosed to us by anyone and the fact that we had to use a credit card and all we had was $15 cash. So then we were left stranded in the cold my husband had no jacket, disabled walking with a cane, and had to find a way to get home that was *********************************************** the morning that I now have to cancel. Now Im waiting for my car for the third time and hoping it will be ready tomorrow, that is if they dont have anymore issues. Were very frustrated and dissatisfied with the customer service we have received.
