I hired this company on January 30th, 2023 because the latch on my front door handle was not latching properly. A technician, ****, came that day, and said it would require installing a new door handle. He did so, and charged $180 for the service. He also took the old door handle that he had removed (and was oddly pushy about doing so). After he left, I noticed that he had left a hole in the door that the old handle covered, and cold air was coming in through the hole. I called the company the next morning, on January 31st, to let them know there was a hole in our door, and that we'd like it fixed. Another employee, ***, called me back shortly thereafter to tell me that the work done the previous day had been to install a temporary door handle, and that they'd be back later to install a permanent door handle, which would cover the hole. This seemed like a satisfactory solution to me. However *** then called back later that day to say that it would be $495 to install the permanent handle. This did not make sense to me, since I had already paid $180, which was the agreed upon price to fix the latch. I told *** that I was unwilling to pay this, and to please give me back my original door handle that **** had taken. *** agreed to do so.The next day, 2/1/23, I called *** to ask when I could expect the door handle back. He told me it was on a truck, and someone would bring it by later that day. My door handle never was delivered, despite several attempts to contact the company. *** also reiterated via text that he would only install the 'permanent' door handle for $495, and I again declined.Finally, after it became clear I wasn't getting my door handle back, I ordered the same door handle from ********** and installed it myself. So, I paid $180 to this company for them to install a 'temporary' door handle, never come back to install a permanent one, and leave a hole in my door. I have requested a refund several times, and have not gotten a response.
