1 starIn July of 2021 I took my Yukon there to get serviced. They then told me the bad news that my transmission had to be replaced and suggested that I get a new one and not a rebuilt one, because it was better, it will last me a long time, and if there were any issues there would be a warranty on it. So I forked out over $8000 to get it fixed, because before then it has been a great car. Well on August 27th 2024 I started to notice something was wrong with my Yukon as it sounded funny and the gears was not engaging. So I called into ******************* Chevrolet and said that their earliest appointment was on 9/9/24, almost 2 weeks later, but I still made the appointment. So I waited the 2 week and brought it over. Although the service person ** was nice, he said yes it sounds like a transmission problem again. I said well at least it has a warranty. As he looked it up he said unfortunately no longer because it was a 3 year/ ******* mile warranty. And that although I was well below the mileage (because we didn't drive it that much) we missed the warranty by 1.5 months, and unfortunately they can't do anything about it. I was really upset about that, but it's our only family car and I can't afford to get a newer car. I was thinking, did they give me a bad transmission? Of course they denied that. So he said they will take a further look at it and will tell me what is truly wrong with it and we will go from there. Well it's now September 24th and my car is still there, and I still have not heard back from them. I called twice leaving a message with the receptionist. Still nothing, I can't just go there because I will have to find a ride there and back. Please help! We are truly stuck in the mud. I am a disabled veteran who can't work much hours to make up the difference of paying over $8000 again for a transmission, and not trusting that it will last more than 3 years. We *** drive our cars hard, we truly try to take care of it. Please help! Very Respectfully, ***** *********Review fromJoshua O

1 starWish I could leave a zero star. Dealership has held onto my car for almost a week past the promised deadline. Head mechanic supposedly left without leaving ANY notes. ** in service refuses to release MY vehicle to me. They have no recollection of a ******************* dropping off a vehicle as well. Despite leaving call back numbers and appropriate callback times I have received no update. I explained that I have a newborn and need my truck back, with no regard for my well being they declined a courtesy vehicle or anything similar. This dealership is a disgrace to the ***** name. The front desk lady refused to provide me with the General Managers number as well. I will be contacting an attorney over this. You over promised and under delivered which seems to be a common occurrence at this location. You are holding my truck hostage at this point. Do not take your vehicles here ladies and gentlemen. Not to mention the 9 calls I logged into service yesterday in which resulted in you telling me that **** is gone and that you will not call in a technician to provide me with the information you failed to document hence resulting in you refusing to release my private property. This is theft and negligence and will be treated as such.Review fromKimberly C

1 starMy 20 year old son who is serving in the United ******************* took his 2012 ************ in for service to drill and tap out a broken drain plug that was broken when getting an oil change. He took it to the dealer because he thought they could be trusted and not waste his time since he doesn't have the liberty of running around while stationed at a nearby base. They quoted him $4,348.98 and charged him to take a picture of the bolt as a diagnosis, which we already knew what the problem was. My son was beside himself at the price they gave him, he couldn't sleep, couldn't take time off and didn't have a vehicle so his father flew out there from ******* to take the car in somewhere else. Kearny Mesa Chevrolet knew that ********* would be reimbursing him for the charges and decided to take advantage of my son. The oil pan did NOT even need to be changed and there was nothing wrong with the oil pan, even if it had to be, it wouldn't cost nearly that much. That has be more than half the whole car is even worth! Kearny Mesa Chevrolet tried telling me on the phone the oil pan "might be cracked" which it wasn't! They told me it will just end up happening so that's why they were going to replace it! It was a simple fix to drill in and tap out the bolt. After a couple other estimates his car is fixed and it cost $140 at a reputable place. $140.00 TOTAL! All other estimates were around this same price. I am APPALLED that Kearny Mesa Chevrolet would take advantage of my son, a United ************** fighting for our country. When I called them to speak to a manager I was told he would call me back and I was told they had no record of the quote which I had in my hand along with photos!!! A manager called me back and was arguing the charges to me. There is nothing to argue. They are crooks who take advantage. DO NOT GO HERE TO HAVE ANY SERVICE DONE! As I see here on the BBB there are other customer reviews here to back me up on this.Review fromDavid M

1 starbait and switch car buying practice. they sent me an email indicating an interest in buying my car. it included a link to ***** Blue to get a value for my car. the result was a written cash offer for my car for $58,750 that was good for 7 days. It said to contact KM Chevrolet to schedule a time to sell my car. when I did, they would not honor the written cash offer. Instead, they tried to negotiate a significantly lower price by providing a range of prices that my car might be worth, and the ultimate value would also be contingent on whether I also bought a car from them. I will never do business with them again.Review fromAndre G.

I just purchase my first new car here a couple days ago 12/15 and this dealer scams all customers for $1400. They say this charge is mandatory non negotiable and they refuse to take it off no matter what. They even told me to leave and go to another dealer because I did not want to pay this dealer add on charge. It says all over on the paper work this is an add on that is optional. I should call the police because this is completely illegal to force this and I recorded this on the phone with family on the line as witness as well. I dont owe you $1400 and I understand you want to make more commission but understand i dont have to pay for your living. From my sales rep saying he couldnt do anything to remove it to their finance guy all the way to the top when I had to sign all the sales agreement papers with ********************* he would not remove it which is fraud. He also tried to add another $3,000 add on which I told him NO and he dropped the add on down to $1750! I removed it two times and he still kept adding it on immediately and saying its mandatory. I had to raise my voice and show him legal for him to remove the $1,750 add on. But he still refused to remove the first $1,400 add on. This is ridiculous and ** in fear he will try to cancel the sale within his allowed time frame if try to get my money back. I am writing this to warn everyone and let you know I dont want this add on and want my $1,400 refunded!Kearny Mesa Chevrolet

I received a call at 1:43pm and returned the call at 1:44pm. ********************* did not offer to refund the $1400 but asked if i want to return the car to replace it for another vehicle. Not what I wanted ?? and a complete inconvenience. I would be out a driveable vehicle and have to wait for another and redo the finance probably at a worse rate if I can even get one after all the credit dings from this dealer the first time.Kearny Mesa Chevrolet

Every time I call they say nothing they can do the and unsure if they can see me today. no loaner car. no call back to update me. i have 2 kids that i have to pick up and live far from this dealership. We were then told we would end up back in que for many days to have car look. I have to have a car to pick up my kids and not even giving me a any update or an estimate. How can you do this to people who need a car to pick up their kids and go to workKearny Mesa Chevrolet

In reviewing our system, it shows that we were able to get you your vehicle back by 4pm the same day and our employees said you were happy with your service. Has something changed since we took care of your concern? We would love to assist further if so.brittany b

Only one star because cannot use zero. Tried to bring in our bolt for warranty work by appointment and left car with them. Did nothing first day and never called us back about status. Second day finally returned call at noon and said they still did not have qualified tech to work on car and that likely car would have to be left over weekend. No loaner car nothing! Needed warranty repair is highly likely a common bolt issue with brake booster module. Easy to find trouble apparent listed on owner boards. Came to pick up car so we were not without our car over weekend and then they suddenly had a technician available. Took car home anyway. We were then told we would end up back in que for many days to have car looked at. Kept telling one lie after another. Also said they had a replacement battery available but then apparently do not have any interest installing that either, perhaps rather let the car burn down our house I guess! In 40 years never had a dealer appointment as bad as going through these guys. STAY AWAY!Kearny Mesa Chevrolet

Only 1 star because you can't leave it at zero. After leaving my info for a test drive of a Silverado **** at the ***** display at the **************, I was sent a few emails and text messages by *******************************, Internet Sales, at Kearny Mesa Chevrolet. I also received a follow-up message from Gabe Mor, Internet Director at KM Chevrolet.I communicated, more than once, what I was looking for to ****** in both email and text messages. I was assured that a suitable test drive vehicle was on the lot. ****** was very aggressive about the contact, his assurances and scheduling my appointment. After taking this time out of my day, I arrived and determined that a suitable vehicle was not visible on the lot. I entered the showroom and presented myself for the test drive. ****** was busy with a customer and I was handed off to a colleague, Brendan(sp?). He and I went out and looked over the lot, again, nothing suitable was available. I mentioned that the company website showed a single suitable vehicle. ****** had confirmed that vehicle. I was told that it was actually a pre-sale, and not available. I asked about the custom order options. Told that they dealership doesn't do custom orders, pre-orders or anything of the sort. Again, contrary to their website. This dealership lied. They lied at every turn. ***** should shut them down before they waste your time.Kearny Mesa Chevrolet

We would love a chance to discuss in detail with this guest. Inventory is very difficult to get due to chip shortages and we have numerous Silverado's on the lot that are available to test drive. We may not have the perfect one at this time but can order something if it is possible. My name is ******************* and I am the General Manager. Please call when time permits. ************
