I rented a vehicle in June 2024 and they gave me a rental car that had an unresolved $40 *** parking ticket attached to it that was already due the month before. I have to use *** parking everyday because my residence does not have its own parking so when I noticed this, I immediately notified them. However, they refused to pay the $40 and told me that *** parking does not tow rental cars and isnt allowed to. I already knew this was a lie as I have heard no such thing nor law that says rental vehicles are exempt from being towed. I asked them to pay the $40 so that I could avoid being towed in the future if there is ever an instance where I forget to pay for parking but they still wouldnt do it.Fast forward to 7/1/2024 when I forgot to pay for parking ONE time and the rental vehicle was towed! I had spent all night at the ** after being involved in a car accident and was still so shook from the accident that I forgot to pay for parking when I arrived home. *** parking usually posts tickets on car windows and I believe that they would have done the same for me and given me a chance to pay the ticket instead of towing my vehicle had the previous drivers ticket been paid. All of this could have been prevented if Renty did not give me a rental vehicle that had already had an *** parking ticket attached to it. Renty had a responsibility to make sure that there were no tickets attached to the rental car and to resolve any outstanding tickets attached to it. My initial warnings were not taken seriously by them and were completely disregarded by them. After the vehicle got towed, I saw in the *** parking portal that they FINALLY paid the previous drivers parking ticket. They waited until the vehicle got towed to pay it when they should have done it weeks ago when I first alerted them about it. Avoid this greedy business that gives rental vehicles to their customers that already have tickets attached to them and refuses to pay for them until after theyre towed.
