good luck trying to get this off of your computer when you no longer want it. We canceled the subscription and uninstalled. Then every so often we would get a pop up asking ** to resub- scribe etc... Tried to remove it from start up, nope, tried to remove it the remaining program portions using windows uninstall, nope. Finally found an Eset uninstall program... can only be run while computer is in safe mode. Got it into safe mode, was it with the rest of the Eset program files and easy to find, nope. Had to run a non-indexed search. 10 minutes later while is safe mode I could finally get rid of it. If this was back in Windows ME or 98 days I could understand but this is just underhanded way to force you to keep the program. There is no reason for the uninstall of this program to be this difficult or for the "sign up again" to be so aggressive. I am actively discouraging any friends or family from getting this just because it's so hard to get rid of.Review from David O

Earlier this year I canceled the ESET security service for my personal computer and was informed that the service would continue until the service period expired. Recently, I received an email that my contract was being automatically renewed and being charged to my credit card. I called ESET customer service and waited over 14 minutes before a rep came on the line. I explained my situation to the rep and they immediately disconnected. I will now call my credit card company and request the not accept the billing from ESET. This company seems very dishonest and deserves a negative star rating.

Four years ago I used them for computer security. After that I canceled them. A year later they took money from my account without my permission. I called them in ********* complaining about it, they refunded the money. Yesterday again the took money from my bank account that I did not authorized. An hour ago I called ********* who ever Asian answered the phone did not want to talk and hung up the phone, kept calling no answer. All other numbers dont work unless you want to sign up for service. This out fit must be shut down.ESET North America Response

I purchased ESET virus protection at least 8 or 10 years ago and was very happy with the service, so much so I purchased protection for two machines last year to run until 9/23. On one machine I haven't been able to update protection modules since September 21. On the other I haven't been able to reload the virus protection after losing files. Tech support is convoluted and just plain terrible. In the past I could actually speak with an agent, but apparently no more. I will probably be stuck with paying for a service I will never receive.ESET North America Response

Is ESET company a SCAM or what? They give you a free trial and assure you that if you purchase they will provide you a license ID to use *****. They in turn provided the license ID for the free trial that expired after 30 days and have not provided a license for the ***** that was already charged to my credit card. I have not been able to obtain a license ID for the 2 years of ***** for which I paid $64.94 on 11/2/21. They do not have customer help by phone. It is 12/15/21. ******************** has received my request for help to resolve this issue at least five times via live chat and/or on line customer assistance requests. What is totally infuriating are the pop *** every 5 minutes from ESET stating I have no laptop protection and the pop*** include quick links to buy a new license!ESET North America Response

Forget getting a refund! I received an email to renew so I did and now I have two charges for the year on is for renewal and one is for 3 computers that I do not even have.The customer service is slow and was on phone 20 minutes and ended hanging up. I will dispute charges on my credit car. Figures there located in CA
