Entered into contract for full kitchen remodel consisting of new flooring, HVAC, cabinetry, lighting, new island, change in sink location and layout of kitchen, with **** ******* of King Remodeling, in ********* on April 9, 2024. We were promised high quality European style solid maple cabinet faces with **** hardware. We were told he was very busy but if we paid $1000 that day he could put us on their calendar to start May 20, 2024 with demo and put an estimated completion date of July 5, 2024. Based on the expected completion date, quality of materials, and the represented attention to detail-the contract was signed.**** repeatedly described King Remodeling as his company and implied he would be overseeing everything with close attention to detail. He has been out about 2 times in 8 ********* is December 19, 2024. The kitchen is incomplete with baseboard, and trim still missing. The cabinets were delivered with inferior DTC hardware not ****. The cabinets are wrapped HDF which **** claimed to not know. We have waited over 2 months for replacement material for drawers that were drilled through/cracked and a new box for the wall ovens- installed crooked twice & didnt match plans. Handles on bottom row of drawers not attached and have not been finished since cabinet install began in September. Nails poking through trim under sink and by refrigerator among other incomplete items, poorly cut fillers, and damaged flooring.Appliance install took weeks because of many corrections to previous King Remodeling work. Electrical, plumbing, and cabinets have had to be removed and replaced numerous times because of faulty workmanship resulting in delays due to negligence. We are well beyond the original completion date. We have experienced loss of use of our kitchen and the workmanship and quality of product was not as advertised. Please complete the project to code with oversight of a licensed professional contractor with workmanship per agreed upon plans.

    Business Response

    Date: 12/20/2024

In response to the customer's message, we have been working with the customer to resolve their issues and have not abandoned the project, in fact we passed a final inspection with the city this week and will be completing this project in the next week or two. We have encountered delays due to the homeowner changing the layout multiple times after they agreed upon the design. We have not charged the customer for their design changes and have paid out of pocket for the material changes. The customer saw the type of cabinets we would be installing in person at our showroom before construction started and were happy with their selection. When the materials arrived and they were not pleased, we gave them a discount on their contract of $10,000 as a show of good faith. Our project supervisor has met with and communicated with the customer throughout the construction process and has supervised the installations and the customer has had a working kitchen with appliances for several months. We have sent multiple crews to work on this project, but some have refused to come back to the house due to verbal abuse from the homeowner. However, we are committed to resolving all issues and completing the project to the customers satisfaction.
