I canceled my service with this company on June 15th. I had a remaining balance of $585.49 in my banked account. I received confirmation on 6/15 that confirmed the account was closed on their end. I called the customer service number to ask about the money in my account and if I would receive any of it. The agent told me (I called 5:14pm Central time and the call lasted 9 minutes and 27 seconds) they charged me the remaining balance for program fees on 6/16. I asked if that was the case, could I get a breakdown on all the charges for my accounts because I didn't see any action on my accounts. She was unable to answer that questions or provide me a breakdown of services. I also asked, if that was the case then what were the charges that were taken out of my account in the amount of $2,661.34 in the month of April. I just want a break down of my charges to see where my money went and a refund of the money that is owed (if any). During the 9 month duration with them, only 2 of my accounts were settled on and it feels like the majority of the money I spent during this time went to "program fees".

I am currently in debt over $20,000. I was (am) desperate for a resolution to my problem. I tried for months to get a debt consolidation loan but did not me the criteria. Ive been hesitant and leery for years to use debt consolidation companies. Ill be 60 this year. Ive had several orthopedic surgeries over the past decade. I needed a resolution before I became unable to work. So I put my trust in Beyond Finance to help me resolve my financial problems. They told me exactly what I needed to hear to trust and enroll in the program. What I heard from more than one agent that I spoke with was, we charge a small fee THAT IS CALCULATED INTO THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU WILL OWE and that this fee WILL BE COLLECTED AT THE END OF THE PROGRAM They were collecting between $204 and $250 biweekly from my bank account for over two months. In that time they had only managed to get ONE credit company to come to an agreement. I continued to monitor their progress while they continued deducting money from my bank account. One day I got on the app to check their progress and noticed that all but a few dollars of my money invested in the program was gone. THEY TOOK THE MONEY THAT THEY WERE SAVING to resolve my debt. I called them immediately. A agent and a supervisor tried to explain to me that they were collecting their fee and went on to tell me that it was in the contract. I tried to explain what I was told on day one from more than one agent that A SMALL FEE AT THE END OF THE PROGRAM WOULD BE COLLECTED . While Im sure it is in their contract I feel that I was manipulated and lied to by some fast talking people that know the contract but are TRAINED to lie to the consumer. And for the record that small fee is 25% of the total debt. No small fee from where Im standing. They didnt deny telling me the things they did. How hard would it had to be honest up front? Im now over two months behind on all my credit cards and worse off than before.

      **************,

Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns.

We confirmed your enrollment into the program on April 8, 2024.  At the time of enrollment, the Account Specialist reviewed your Debt Resolution Agreement with you prior to your signing.  Information about fees, including how and when they are earned, can be located in the section titled "Debt Resolution Agreement" in paragraph 11. (a) Program Fees.  It reads, in part, as follows:

"The Client agrees to pay the Company a fee in the amount of *****% percent of the balance of each debt enrolled into the program and where Company resolves the debt, whether directly or indirectly through Companys agents, with the creditor."

"Program fees are due and earned when: (i) the Company reaches a resolution on an enrolled debt with a creditor, (ii) the Client accepts and agrees to the new terms, and (iii) the first payment of the new agreed upon terms is made to the creditor."

Review of your program has confirmed that all fees have been earned within the established expectations.  Beyond Finance does not take up front fees and only earns fees after the criteria have been met.  Review of your enrollment interaction confirmed this is in alignment with the information provided to you.

We are hopeful we have been able to provide clarity to your concerns.  Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

While I know the wording of the contract, thats not the point of the complaint. And while nothing about the way Beyond Finance conducts their business will probably change, the main reason for the complaint is that their sales pitch is misleading to consumers by having their sales team to pitch words that lure the struggling person into the program.

At no point during the process did the agent mention an amount of their fee. It was relayed as a small fee nor was it mentioned that the fee would be collected during the negotiation process. Instead the agent insisted that the fee was included in the total amount of the consumers total debt and would be collected at the end of the program. This in itself is false advertising.

When I enlisted in the program I was not behind on any of my debt payments. But after trusting the words of the agents I spoke with, I managed to get two months behind on several accounts that included late fees and interest payments. This is mostly the bases of my complaint, the lies.

I feel that Beyond Finance should give that consumer the words up front that are buried deep within the contract so that the consumer have a honest chance to make a decision instead of finding out what they are getting into. I just think the methods are dishonest.

They are not as transparent as they explain and I believe I would have been better off resolving my debt without them would cancel the program IF I knew I could get all my money back as I was told I could without losing anything but its too late I am just thankful I ONLY decided to process the two debts holding up my credit score with them and not more debt accounts because even though I haven't even been with them 3 months yet I am so over their shenanigans. I am so upset I am dedicating the entire time until my accounts are resolved or someone higher up in BF makes this right to getting the word out about them via FB, ******************* every blog, every review board etc. Signing up is not complicated but it does take a long time by the time you get setup you cannot even remember everything that has been said but don't worry per their repeated statements:"The information regarding this can be found in your signed Enrollment Agreement, as well as in the supplemental materials supplied to you during your enrollment."The biggest thing is their 25% fee and 2 random fees that vary I assume based on your enrolled debt. It was explained to me that everything was coming out of the bi-monthly payment totaling $320 a month. No service fee or maintenance fee was ever mentioned. The 25% part is even worse because I was unaware of it but to make matters worse I inquired about it and after talking to the 2nd customer service rep I learned the 25% is not based on the resolution offer (That allegedly saves you 40-50% or greater) It's based on the original debt amount. Think about it you have 100k in debt. They "say" they cut it by 50% so now you owe 50K amazing right? Well, no they immediately after first payment to that creditor (For me the very next day) they schedule their payments based off initial debt so now you owe 75K on top of at least 2 unknown monthly fees until you get it paid in full.Just run for your life and I will continue spreading the word!!

      Ms.****,

Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns.

We confirmed your enrollment into the program on May 13, 2024.  At the time of enrollment, the Account Specialist reviewed your Debt Resolution Agreement with you prior to your signing.  Information about the timing of resolutions can be located in the section titled "Debt Resolution Agreement" in paragraph 8. Timing and Program Estimates.  It reads, in part, as follows:

"While guidelines differ widely among Creditors, in our experience an accumulation of 25%-50% of the then-current balance of a Debt and approximately 4-6 months from the last payment will normally enable us to make a good-faith offer to resolve your first and subsequent Debts."

Beyond Finance was servicing your program within all established expectations.  We understand that creditor calls are frustrating, but rest assured your program was being handled appropriately.

Our records indicate that your program was successfully terminated and a refund in the amount of $1,011.80 was issued on June 13, 2024.  Beyond Finance did not earn any fee.  The difference in amount is due to the non-refundable fees associated with your dedicated account held with Crossroads Financial Technologies (CFT).  These fees are clearly disclosed in your Enrollment Agreement on page 22.

We are hopeful this is a satisfactory resolution to your concerns.  Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Feb ***** i contracted with beyond finance as a debt consolidation, the agreed to take me and i started paying them 310 bi-weekly. As of this complaint in four months they have only contact one creditor and refuse to contact anyone else. I have repeatedly called to urge them to continue to do the work i am paying them to do and they refuse saying I am not paying them enough money. I am paying them the figures they came up with and they still refuse to work. They have damaged my credit even more than it was damaged. They told me at the beginning not to worry they would take care of my debt with my 310 bi-weekly and now they tell me thats not how it works and they wont contact a creditor until they have 70% of what i owe each creditor and they will only go to the creditors one by one. It is a bait and switch situation

      **************,

We confirmed your enrollment into the program on February 16, 2024.

"Some Creditors prefer that they not be contacted until you have accumulated sufficient funds in your Dedicated Account to allow a resolution within their historic norms. While guidelines differ widely among Creditors, in our experience an accumulation of 40%-50% of the then-current balance of a Debt will normally enable us to make a good-faith offer to resolve that Debt. Further, in our experience it typically takes approximately 4-6 months before reaching the stage at which Company can begin reaching out to creditors or collectors and achieve your first resolution.

We have met all established expectations, presenting you with your first offer less than one month after your enrollment.  In order to move forward with presenting you with your next offer, you do not need to increase your payment, rather more funds need to accumulate in your dedicated account.

Additionally, the impact to credit and way the program is designed in also covered in the same section in paragraph 13. Disclaimer.  It reads, in part, as follows:

"The use of Companys debt resolution services will likely adversely affect Clients creditworthiness and may increase the outstanding balances of Clients enrolled accounts due to the accrual of fees and interest. The decision to stop paying creditors rests solely with the Client, and the client acknowledges and fully understands that the company will not be making the Clients scheduled monthly payments to their creditors."

Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

this was not explained during my initial conversation with beyond finance. They said it was like a normal debt consolidation. They  did the classic bait and switch. If I had been told the truth from the get go, I would have never done business with them. While I agree they can do business as they see fit, they can not lie to people to get their business

04.01.2024 I contacted Beyond Finances in helping me solve an issue with four creditors that kept my credit report from adjusting positively. I was told that from the first payment on forward I would receive relieve and resolutions and my bi-weekly deposits would be utilized to pay back the creditors. I quickly realized that only $80 was paid towards these accounts - after three months - and the rest disappeared. When I contacting costumer service, two independent Beyond employees confirmed that first, most of my deposits would be used to cover business costs; both confirmed in recorded conversations that by about mid 2025 payments would be made towards my creditors and that would be AFTER about $2500 for Beyonds internal costs had been collected.Although minimum payments of $15 had been posted to two creditors to secure a promise for repayment: I was falsely led to believe that most of my payments would be utilize to help repaying my debt: Be aware; there is no statement (fine print) supporting the methods of Beyond to first collect ALL their expenses BEFORE actually paying the creditors. Yes, I understand they reach out and secure a lower re-pay agreement Out of a $8000 owed, I will have to pay first $2500 before Beyond will utilize payments on my behave! After my last installment of $108 it shows no deposits in my account and no payments were made towards my creditors.Be super cautious calling Beyond employees; they are incredible hostile and word their confusing responses lazed with hints of insult and belittling any attempts to receive an explanation why their internal structure is designed to collect on all fees first before helping! In my case; for one year, before they start making payments to the creditors. You will probably end up paying over 35% towards this business BEFORE they help you with debt reduction !

      **************,

We confirmed your enrollment into the program on February 8, 2024.  At the time of enrollment, the Account Specialist reviewed your Debt Resolution Agreement with you prior to your signing. Information about how the program is designed can be located in the section titled "Debt Resolution Agreement" in paragraph 13. Disclaimer. It reads, in part, as follows:

"The decision to stop paying creditors rests solely with the Client, and the client acknowledges and fully understands that the company will not be making the Clients scheduled monthly payments to their creditors."

Additional information about the timing of resolutions can be located in the same sections in paragraph 8. Timing and Program Estimates.  It reads, in part, as follows:

"Further, in our experience it typically takes approximately 4-6 months before reaching the stage at which Company can begin reaching out to creditors or collectors and achieve your first resolution."

As of the time of this review you have approved offers on 3 of your 6 enrolled accounts.  This included the most recent authorization on June 5, 2024.  We are happy to have exceeded the established expectations in the servicing of your program.

Information about the program fee can be located in the same section as well, in paragraph 11. (a) Program Fees.  It reads, in part, as follows:

"Program fees are due and earned when: (i)the Company reaches a resolution on an enrolled debt with a creditor, (ii) the Client accepts and agrees to the new terms, and (iii) the first payment of the new agreed upon terms is made to the creditor."

Beyond Finance does not take our fee prior to results. Review has determined that all fees have been earned within expectations. Please keep in mind that the resolution fees are not standard monthly deductions.  They are established in relation to authorized resolutions.

      Customer Answer

Tha genetically posted response from Beyond Finance does not reflect to the complaint posted: the section paragraph 8 has nothing to do with the two individual representatives confirming that Beyond Finance FIRST collects their total fees (>30%) of the entire debt BEFORE actually making significant payments to the delinquent accounts.

This method and strategy has been communicated by others complaining about the fact that Beyond s methods are not as originally promised to help debt reduction. In my case, both representatives confirmed that no significant payments will be generated before June 2025 when the entire cost of our engagement has been paid first

That does NOT reflect the promises and the contract in hand!

So far, two of the delinquent accounts have reached out to me and confirmed that Beyond HAS NOT made any agreement with them and actually offered me to resolute the debt for less than 60% of the original delinquency.

if Comparing Beyond Finances response with other complaints listed in BBB you will find that their wording is identical and obfuscating from the clients original issue.

Beyonds response is non responsive and I reject their quabble! I expect a honest and sincere explanation why nowhere in their contract it is listed that clients have to pay ALL fees from the start before they actually help reducing the debt. Out of $800 only $75 have been utilized towards repayment that is less than 9% of the collected money!!

Thank you for the continued opportunity to address your concerns.

Beyond Finance has the right to collect the fee in full after the resolution has been accepted and the first payment towards the arrangement has been made.  We elect to defer portions of our earned fee to ensure the availability of funds to reach additional resolutions.  At no time does Beyond Finance earn up front fees.

Additionally, this program is designed to care for all enrolled accounts through the lifetime of the program.  Beyond Finance will strategically reach out to creditors in an effort to ensure the optimal resolution offer can be obtained.

February 2024, I was on the phone for about 2 hours with a representative from Beyond Finance to help with two of my creditors and settle the debt. Yes, she did say it can **** *-9 months to settle, went over their 25% fee, and I started making payments around February 8, 2024, but as I made payments, they settled 1 out of 2 debts. Last month, when I went to make a payment, I noticed a chunk had been taken out of the account where I had deposited the money. When I looked at the ledger, I saw they took out over $1600 in their fees, and then each month, the fees ranged for their service/settlement fees. I grew uncomfortable with it and decided to no longer continue service with them. When I went to cancel it with them, the representative kept trying to get me to tell him what I was doing instead and was twisting my words. I finally told him it was none of his business and that I wanted to cancel. He submitted it to be canceled. I received an email last night that it was done and that if there were any money in the account, it would be refunded to me, less any fees. When I canceled, I had a running balance of available funds of $570.12. The day after I canceled, they took out three settlement fees on the same day for $124.94, $124.94, and $309.49. The 3 settlement fees were not on the monthly ledger before cancellation, & it was reflected on the ledger the settlement fees were never on the same day. They were spread out if I had stayed with them. Before my canceling, they took their fees, which was $2,078.43, out, which was the scheduled amount. So for roughly 4 months, more than half of what I paid went to Beyond Finance, not the creditor. The 3 fees they took out on June 8 were not on the ledger and were not theirs to take, and it feels like they took it and took my funds to $0 because I canceled their services. I want a refund of the $559.37 that was not theirs to take.Attached is the ledger of payments/debits. This came from their site, but its on word to attach

Ms. ************************ you for the opportunity to address your concerns.

We confirmed your enrollment into the program on February 10, 2024.  At the time of enrollment, the Account Specialist reviewed your Debt Resolution Agreement with you prior to your signing.  Information about fees, including how and when they are earned, is covered in the section titled "Debt Resolution Agreement" in paragraph 11 (a). Program Fees.  It reads, in part, as follows:

"Program fees are due and earned when: (i) the Company reaches a resolution on an enrolled debt with a creditor, (ii) the Client accepts and agrees to the new terms, and (iii) the first payment of the new agreed upon terms is made to the creditor."

Beyond Finance met the established expectation to earn our fee once the resolution was presented to you, approved by you and the first payment completed.  Beyond Finance elects to spread out the fee in order to allow you to accumulate funds in your dedicated account to reach additional offers.  Upon your requested termination, as you were in an active resolution where the fee had been earned, the remainder of that fee was cared for.

We are hopeful we have been able to provide clarity to your concerns.  Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

      Sincerely,
      Beyond Finance, LLC

That was made clear, however, what was not stated is that if the contract was ended they would take more fees than what they should have and what was scheduled. Before I cancelled I had seen their schedule and there was nothing scheduled to have their fees taking out 3 times in day that would clear out the account. In the short term I was with them more than 50% of the payments I made went to them. I think they made more than they deserve to earn as well as they took more than what was scheduled to be taken to pay their fees. With taken out three UNSCHEDULED payments the day after I canceled that cleared the account, it does nothing but make them look like a scam company and retribution for cancelling with them. If I had not cancelled with them, they never would have taken their fees out 3 times in 1 day that ended up being the exact amount of the remaining amount in the account. In the schedule, and in the attachment I provided, it shows when they had taken fees out and the amounts and when you look, you will not see a single moment when they took out more than 1 fee at a time, until 1 day AFTER I cancelled. In that list of made payments they took out for their fees, that is proof reflecting how often they took their fees. Them taking out 3 fees in 1 day and clearing out the account shows nothing but scamming me, unprofessionalism on their part, and retribution for cancelling their services. They should be returning the 3 fees they took out the day after I cancelled since they already used more than 50% of what I paid that went to them. As long as Beyond Finance refuses to refund my money, the 3 fees they took out after I cancelled, I will not agree with what they say.

      Ms. ******,

Thank you for the continued opportunity to address your concerns.

Your program is designed to care for all enrolled accounts throughout the lifetime of your enrollment.  Payments to creditors and their related fees are strategically scheduled to ensure you are put in the best position for success in the program.

The fees referenced were fees that were accelerated due to your request to terminate the program.  Beyond Finance had met all established expectations to earn the fee as it related to the authorized resolutions.

We are hopeful we have been able to provide additional clarity to your concerns.

      Sincerely,

accelerated fees were never mentioned. Fees were, which make it sound like current fees. Its safe to say this will not be agreed upon and with how long it took for beyond finance to reply with the excuse of accelerated fees says plenty.  I should have researched before signing up because there are other complaints with the same issue. I just want a refund of the $500 something dollars. Its pitiful and unprofessional with how long you took to respond and with that timeframe it just sounds like you guys are coming up with excuses to keep the money.

      ****** *** Said,

We confirmed your enrollment into the program on September 13, 2023.  At the time of enrollment, the Account Specialist reviewed your Debt Resolution Agreement with you prior to your signing.  Information about program fees can be located in the section titled "Debt Resolution Agreement" in paragraph 11. (a) "Program Fees".

Review of your program confirmed that all fees were earned in accordance with established and clearly disclosed expectations.  Additionally, information about the possibility of creditors taking legal actions is covered in the same section in paragraph 13. "Disclaimer".  It reads, in part, as follows:

"Although, services provided by the Company aim to reduce the Clients outstanding debts with creditors, the Company cannot prevent a creditor from taking legal action against them, and the Company cannot offer any guarantee whatsoever that legal actions will not be commenced by the Clients creditors."

In the event that your creditor elected to move forward with legal actions, Beyond Finance would have continued efforts to reach a favorable resolution.

We determined you have been in touch with an Account Manager who is reviewing this matter for you.  This account manager will reach out to you shortly with the results of the review of your request for a refund.  Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

      Sincerely,
      Beyond Finance, LLC

April 19, I requested a payoff amount on the loan. The representative advised the final payoff amount of $1649.30 and would be placed on the graduation process for completing the program. I went ahead and paid the amount over the phone. Nothing else would be needed and I would receive a confirmation email within 5 to 10 business days.May 15, the monthly amount was deducted of $435.45, I called and a rep apologized for the error and advised to reverse the charge through my bank. I received a call stating that I still had a $40 processing fee. I spoke to the supervisor to advise that I already made a payment and confirmed the payoff amount. She would listen to the calls to confirm. I received an email from the company stating the $435.45 was reversed and credited back to my bank.May 14, I received a call from BeyondFinance and was told that they are trying to receive payment but there was a block from my bank. I confirmed that there was because I had already submitted the payoff amount on April 19, which was received at BeyondFinance April 26. The rep apologized for the confusion and stated she'll restart the graduation process and it will take 5 to 10 business days and I'll receive an email. Furthermore, she advised that I was to receive a refund of ******* for overpayment and will be deposited back to my bank account within 10 business days. I asked to email me a statement, attached.June 3, I called for a status since I haven't received a call or email. I asked about the graduation process and it was still pending. I asked why and per the rep, my account was still in review to confirm final fees. I asked for a supervisor and she advised that the Rep on April 19 and June 3 misinformed me about the amount. In good faith, I reached out to pay the loan early. My account is still in review and no one can tell me why but that my account is in review t confirm final fees. I should not have any further amounts owed and looking to be compensated $*******.

Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns.

Review of your program has confirmed that your graduation has been completed as of June 4, 2024.  We appreciate your patience as we completed our thorough graduation process.

Review of your interactions confirmed that you spoke with an agent on May 15, 2024.  During this conversation the agent advised that if the payment in progress was posted, it would be refunded to you.  However, this payment did not clear and therefore no refund was required.

We are hopeful the successful graduation of your program is a satisfactory resolution to your concerns.  Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Company was supposed to pay my creditors but out of $911.32 they only paid $45.00. They kept all my deposits as fees. I was not told about these fees nor that the company would take thousands of dollars and pay themselves instead of paying my creditors. This is a debt consolidation company. My creditors already gave me settlement offers; beyond did not negotiate anything for me. I was told on the phone when I signed up that I would be paying a certain dollar amount. When I called to complain about how my funds were being handled, they told me that I should have been told that they would take $9000 before my debt was paid. I let them know on this call that this was outrageous and I was not told this. I asked for my account to be cancelled immediately and no more funds taken. I was still debited another $211. My final amount in my "dedicated account" was supposed to be refunded but Beyond just kept it and said that exact amount were more "fees" and refunded me $0.00. This company scammed me. I want a refund for the entire amount they kept as fees. None of these fees per the attached statement were communidated to me in any way. They stole from me.

      Ms. ********,

Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns.

We confirmed your enrollment into the program on April 8, 2024.  At the time of enrollment, the Account Specialist reviewed your Debt Resolution Agreement with you prior to your signing.  Information about program fees can be located in the section titled "Debt Resolution Agreement" in paragraph 11. (a) "Program Fees".  It reads, in part, as follows:

"The Client agrees to pay the Company a fee in the amount of *****% percent of the balance of each debt enrolled into the program and where Company resolves the debt, whether directly or indirectly through Companys agents, with the creditor."

"Program fees are due and earned when: (i) the Company reaches a resolution on an enrolled debt with a creditor,(ii) the Client accepts and agrees to the new terms, and (iii) the first payment of the new agreed upon terms is made to the creditor."

Review of your program determined all fees were earned in alignment with the established expectations.  No fee was earned prior to, at minimum, the first payment being made towards your approved resolution offer.  At the time of your requested termination, you were in active resolutions and the payment in question had already been processed.  Once the fee related to your active arrangements was taken into account, there were no remaining funds.

We are hopeful we have been able to provide clarity regarding your concerns.  Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

      Sincerely,
      Beyond Finance, LLC
