      I subscribed to instantcheckmate to find a friend that recently passed away and paid to get the information . No problem there but I no longer want to continue with the company, I tried to cancel, but they want me to pay $19.95 to cancel. But they just changed my credit card $33.24 on 7/22/24 witch I suspect will be a monthly charge, witch I don't want.

      I signed up for the checkmate service as it promised to deliver military records, criminal records, arrest records, addresses, real age, death records and known aliases. The information was largely missing and/or incorrect. No military records were returned when we know the person we searched had been in the service. I have been a member for about 12 hours - most of which I have been sleeping. However, to "fact check" the service, I ran a background check on my mother who has been deceased for eight years and they report her age to be 100. This is 100% a scam. Nothing was correct about the reports provided.

      They advertized to find veterans and when I clicked on it the page had in big letters, "military records". I paid the money then they wanted more money to download the results. They also wanted money for a dark web scan. The report I got had a similar name. The town they provided was one he never lived in. They had his date of birth wrong and no military service records. That was all I got from Instant checkmate. This is no way to treat a decorated veteran. You, as the BBB should not be giving Instant checkmate an A+ rating. That was the only reason I chose them.

      I was automatically subscribed to a monthly subscription with Instant Checkmate without my knowledge. It was done using a company email last year that was assigned to me at said time, which was at a job I resigned from soon after these charges started. This company has been charging me $35.12 for 11 monthly payments, all for services I never used.As I resigned from the position at my previous employment, I had no access to the email account used with **********************. Having no access to that email, I received no notifications of services, nor could i have used them should i have desired to, as access to the email account is required to get into their site account. To recap, I did not know I had been signed up for their service, I couldn't be notified I was being charged for their service by email, and could not use the service being charged for. Sounds like fraud I would think.I contacted the company for a refund, to which i received a canned response and promise of an unsatisfactory refund of two months payments. I did not use their services once in those 11 months, could not have used them, and am outraged I have been stolen from. Please help me receive the funds unfairly appropriated from me, I have a family i support by working a full time AND a separate secondary job. I have many bills to pay, all while every cost around me climbs higher and higher.

      I purchased a one-month background check and the company put me on a monthly subscription. They also charged me for a check and there was inaccurate and very little information on it.
