I had labs drawn in ******* ** on December 2021 and provided my correct health insurance information. Prometheus made an error and billed the wrong insurance, leading to the fees not being paid. When they sent me a bill, I corrected the insurance information that they had incorrectly transcribed and they told me they would bill the correct insurance. However, despite Prometheus fully admitting to their error during multiple phone calls and the date of service being over 12 months from the original date of the bill sent to me, they continue to send me a bill for $2500 for these lab fees. The most recent bill arrived this week in August 2023 (Statement #******). Both Prometheus and my insurance company advised me that they cannot charge for services rendered over a year ago and have told me not to pay. Even after confirming this with me, I just received another bill. Even though they are aware this charge is not billable at this time and have confirmed the error was made by them, they are still sending me bills. Any assistance to have them stop sending me this bill which per my understanding they are not legally allowed to charge for due to the time elapsed would be greatly appreciated.

I keep getting harassed by phone calls, text messages and letters by Prometheus for a charge that DOS on 1/13/2021 and I submitted the *** to them. My insurance informed myself and them it is provider responsibility and I didn't owe anything and yet they continue to keep harassing me for $75.

*************** neglected to clearly communicate what was needed to bill my insurance. From the statements I received, I understood that lab results were to be provided to my insurance company by ********** (PI 252 denial). I expect that if ********** did not have access to this information or some action was needed on my part, that I would be informed. I was not informed. Now, I discover that the balance was sent to a creditor. This is an extremely inappropriate practice. If there is something needed on my part to bill my insurance, I need to be notified. Also when trying to reach **************** it's IMPOSSIBLE to get through to speak with a human at Promethius.

March 2022, I had blood work that was sent to this lab and shortly received a bill for $2500. I had not seen an EOB from my insurance company. I called my insurance company and they never received a claim from this lab. Then I had to go through the lengthy process of speaking to someone at the lab. For over a year, *** had to call the lab over 5 times to make them submit the claim to the correct insurance and refusing to pay the bill. Now a new challenge begins as Ive received my EOB dated 11/14/2022 with the patient responsibility of $46.48. Yet I still received a bill from the lab on for $2500 dated 3/21/2033. Unable to get a hold of anyone, was sent to voicemail. How do they think they can charge patients the full price when insurance clearly states what the patient responsibility is. Its outrageous.

I have to get blood work to test for my medication levels. This has been ongoing for me since 9/15/21. I have no control who this blood work gets sent to. I try to call them and no one answers, no one calls back and I get told different things when I finally get ahold of someone when I call. I thought the 2021 blood work was settled and just got a bill with my services on 11/10/22 and now they added my old services on top of it bringing in a total of *****. They are considered out of network for my insurance, according to my insurance provider, they aren't billing them correctly for them to even get paid anything at all and do not send in amended bills to the insurance. It's a complete scam. They told me it would be 75 dollars if it's considered out of network or that they would take what my insurance gives them and right off the rest. For my total on 9/15/21 my insurance paid ******. The rest should've been written off according to what the operator on the phone told me and I never got another bill until now. On 11/10/22 my insurance told me that prometheus needed to resubmit a bill that was billed correctly and they are not sending it in while telling me that I need to pay it all. My doctors office told me that it should only be 75 dollars if it's not covered. How am I getting absolutely no where??

On 7/29/21 I had labs done at my GI doctor's ******* I had ******** Insurance / ******** through the state of ******** at the time. I didn't get a bill until July of 2022. I have tried repeatedly to call them so that they could bill my insurance. I cannot get ahold of anyone. I have left messages and I got sent to collections. I cannot afford this. I don't want to ruin my credit but I don't understand how they can get away with not billing Insurance.

On 06/07/21 I got lab work done by Prometheus. On May 21 2022 ( almost a year later) they sent me a **** for $75. I called them up dived my insurance should cover in full. I finally got though after calling a bunch of times and waiting on hold for a long time. The agent said shell ask her supervisor and call me back but that this **** is in collections!! Which is nuts because they had just billed me for itI never received a call back. After a bunch more tries i got through again and the next agent said insurance denied since they need info from the dr. So I called Cigna to ask where my dr can send the info to and Cigna said there is no claim on file for that DOS but that it is a fully covered service. I then called Prometheus again and couldnt get through. I therefore am filing a complaint here. I pay for insurance for a reason. I cant afford to pay for each medical charge. It is the labs responsibility to **** insurance. They should not just **** me!! If you in reality did **** insurance and it got rejected or something because you billed the wrong place etc they said you can fax ********** with proof of Timely filing , claim, and rejection. But if not, then please cancel my invoice as this is on you.It is unethical to **** patients directly instead of billing insurance first.

I had blood work done on 3/16/2021 that was ordered by my GI **************************************** of ***************************** They just sent me a **** on 5/5/2022 with the account #*******. I contacted the insurance company Independence BC and they stated they needed them to include the proper address of the Dr. which is *************************************************************************, in order to process the claim. I have called them at least 10 times and left numerous messages. I want to take care of this $2500.00 **** because I do not have the money to pay for it, especially since the insurance will cover it if it's processed properly. I feel they are ignoring me on purpose to try to force me to pay this money. I would like you to see if you could help resolve this issue. I would greatly appreciate it and don't really know where else to turn.

Prometheus Laboratories is the laboratory that my daughter's provider at ****************************** uses for a lab test that tests the amount of Entyvio that has stayed in her blood since her last infusion. She gets these tests about every 6 months. The provider has an agreement with the laboratory that Prometheus will charge the patients $75 if the patient's insurance doesn't pay for the lab test. My daughter is 13 years old and has had the same insurance through the same provider with the same insurance number since she was born. Prometheus has her insurance information and has billed the insurance in the past. I have been charged $2500 per lab for most of the lab tests in the past 2 years. I have been sent to collections for not paying the $2500. It is difficult to reach a live person when calling and when you do reach a live person they don't know. anything and nothing is resolved. I have recently paid the collection company for four charges that were fixed to the $75 amount. I still have two or three charges where I have been overcharged because they haven't billed the insurance company. This is not the fault of the insurance company as I have contacted the insurance company who states that these charges have not been billed. I need them to correct this, I should have been billed $75 for each test, not $2500. The account number is ******* (I also have additional charges that have been sent to collections for not paying the $2500)

Prometheus Laboratories/ Biosciences is operating unethically. They are billing insured patients directly for services instead of billing insurance, and when patients try to contact Prometheus, they are faced with excessive wait times, disconnected phone lines, and zero response to emails sent. They sent me a **** for labs performed at my son's pediatrician's office without attempting to **** my insurance. This is a billing error. We have dual insurance coverage yet Prometheus failed to **** either one. I called Prometheus THREE times in December 2021, all three times with excess waits of 30 minutes, and each time I was disconnected before anyone answered. I also called again on January 5 2022, again without being able to get through to anyone. I also emailed them once on December 14, 2021 and again on January 5, 2022 after my calls were unsuccessful. In my emails I provided them with all of our insurance information and did not receive any response to those emails. Insult to injury, in February I received a notice that Prometheus turned over the balance to a collection agency! Billing patients inaccurately and then giving them no way to resolve the error is not an ethical business practice. I am now having to deal with collections to get this resolved. Prometheus should be ashamed of themselves. It's not acceptable to create billing errors without a path for patients to resolve it.
