    8/9/2024 hired the Marathon Moving Company for one day cross town move of small 2 bed 2 bath house. As disabled senior woman I requested packing and moving services. Marathon was unable to complete the move in 11 hours on 8/9/2024 and requested to work additional 5-6 hours after 7:30 pm. I explained that disability prevented me from accompanying movers beyond the 11 hours already worked for an additional 5-6 more hours and deliver to my new house at approximately 1-2 am was unreasonable. At this juncture Marathon Moving Company demanded 2000 cash or they threatened to steal all my worldly possessions now on their truck. This cash demand accompanied by threats to steal all my worldly possessions seemed unethical and appeared to violate the contract which stipulates Payment Upon Delivery as is customary for the many professional moving companies that I have utilized in the past decades. The next morning they returned with the truck containing all my possessions and demanded 2000 cash or they were taking my belongings. I paid, and asked them to unload my possessions. The crew of 3 men at first later joined by 2-3 more verbally berated me, mocked my disability, yelled obscenities directly at me, made personal derogatory comments and laughed at me. This verbal abuse and aggressive assault lasted over 2 hours. At one point the supervisor ***** tried to stop ********* from his highly aggressive verbal assault and insults because I was in tears defenseless against the group attack. I realize theres likely nothing you can do about this however, I am compelled to inform you of this incident and the abusive treatment from The Marathon Moving Company and specifically crew members named ********* and ***** took great enjoyment in this protracted verbal assault with ******* laughter mixed with intimate personal insults they seemed to take great pleasure for over 2hours.     In March 2023 I paid ******* and his crew to move me from ******** to *********, and tipped them very well because they got me moved in quickly and from what I could tell they were meticulous. I was dead wrong on the latter. Since the weather was rainy, they wrapped my furniture in saran plastic wrap. They used box cutters to remove it. They sliced my mattress and box spring which I had just paid $1,000 for in December 2022....brand new mattress ruined. Then when they set up my bed, they didn't but the feet in the metal slats properly, so my side boards were bearing ALL of the weight. The sideboards connect to the head and foot boards with hooks which are fastened by rivets. The rivets eventually failed and my sideboard fell to the floor.I call the next day, and explain my situation. I didn't even make a big deal about the sideboard issue. My main concern was with the brand new mattress. The response I got was nothing but unacceptable. "Well, I'll see what we can do. I can't really comp the entire mattress." I reply with some along the lines of: "so you're telling me that you guys clearly are in the wrong here and sliced my mattress, and feel no obligation to comp me?" He responded with, "well, technically the insurance is only supposed to be 60 cents per pound, so I'm kinda doing you a favor." Through all this, I remained calm and cordial, but I was fuming inside. He told me he would get back to me....never did. I reached back out a couple weeks later. He said he forgot, and that he would handle it. Never heard from him again. I let him know I would plaster this everywhere I could, so here I am.

    on 12-28-2021 Defrauded by the marathon moving company, a lot of damage done to my property the word "puta" written twice in the bottom of one box which they opened and destroyed the glass globe with a candle holder., unsealed ALL BOXES which I had securely wrapped and sealed with CLEAR PACKING TAPE went thru them removed items and put in their boxes in order to charge me more money, charged me $80.00 extra for something called "change order" I did not change anything, ****** constantly kept asking me for a "gratuity" because they have families- I constantly told him to stop begging me for money and that is when they enacted their revenge. 24K gold memorial plate of my deceased parents was stolen, but the frame was left, broke my son's dresser(which was not wrapped as I was told it would be along with ALL FURNITURE) now the draw does not go into the **************************** dropped my unwrapped double leaf dining table and it will not go together anymore- Tax documents from 2017 thru 2019 missing. took my laptop OUT of it"s PROTECTIVE CASE and put it in a red plastic hanging travel bag. THEY DID NOT FINISH THE *** THEY WERE HIRED TO DO, THEY LEFT ALOT OF MY BELONGINGS ON THE UNLOCKED PORCH AND IN THE GARAGE-- they did not inform me items were left at the old house--so i had to hire a guy with a pickup truck for $250.00 for he and his friend to make 3 trips to move the rest of my belongings. called and asked for claim forms several times from the marathon moving company and continued to get the run-around from the owner ***************************** and the claims manager named *****. kept asking for their mailing address so I could send my written request for claim froms for damages ******* and ***** refused to give it to me and were very evasive about their address, so i looked on ****** and found ********************************** came back UNOPENED SO THE MANAGER AT THE POST OFFICE VERIFIED THAT THAT IS A WORKING ADDRESS and he the sent my request in a postal envelope- was returned.
