On 4/9 I completed an online search using Truthfinder's online service. Upon collecting my credit card information, the system was unable to create an account for me, thus creating a mechanism where I will be tied up in an inability to cancel a subscription. Their online system is unavailable to me, Their phone-based system is not staffed and has an erroneous message, again making it impossible to cancel a subscription. I am submitting the complaint below to Truth Finder. I hope that your agency is aware of the destruction the website has caused many people. There is criminal information about me regarding an arrest from 1990. Charge was battery and disposition guilty.I have never been arrested, ever charged with any criminal complaint, nor a mugshot nor any adjudication. The person who used your service and then posted the false information about me is ******************************** of ********** ******* *****. She is a chapter chair of Moms for Liberty. She has continuously used your website to post wrong information about multiple individuals. I am pursuing her in civil court for libel, slander and defamation. Your website should ban her permanently. I would like to suggest that a more distinctive warning regarding using the information provided by the website is and can be detrimental to the individual whose information can be used to cause harm. Additionally, warning users that utilizing misinformation can result with a civil litigation court case with punitive damages.
I could have requested my information be removed by myself by going through the process on the website. The damage is done now and I will not be able to contact all the individuals who were emailed the false information because I do not know all of those who saw it, read it and believed it.
I have a FDLE background profile that is viable for five years. I do not know if the misinformation will constitute any other problems.
Truth Finders should put the same effort forward to prove the information is correct just as it does researching to post any individuals information. Simply stating that the information may not be correct is not enough. The warning does not equally align to the consequences of SELLING the wrong information.
Whether a product or service is paid for, the product or service must be sufficient and accurate. If it was a product a request for return, exchange or refund is appropriate.Its unfortunate that for less than $10 the service being provided is known to be false, hence the warning. My character and integrity has been altered because Truth Finders admits to selling wrong information. There would be no causation if the website provided accurate data.

On February 29th, I sought information on an individuals background for my organization. I went through truthfinder to get a background report of the individual. Truthfinder billed me twice for a total over $35. I received the desired report and canceled my account and further payments. Now on March 30th, I was billed again for another $30, and find that my account was not canceled as requested and informed that it would be. When I contacted my bank in regards to this after getting an alert from them on the evening of 3/17, I was instructed-BY THEM-to destroy the card immediately as the card was now closed, so getting the additional info off the card was not possible at that time. I will go to my bank either today or tomorrow to see if they can provide me the first six digits along with the transaction number. As for PayPal, they sent me a notification that there was something suspicious with my Huntington account but that was before the purchase from TruthFinder so I do not think there is any connection and there is nothing in my PayPal account to indicate that that account was used for this, just the Huntington account directly.Business Response
